MissDaria
...does anyone out there know why/how Huntress was exempt from it? I'd always wondered - and she's appearing prominently well after the Embargo is in place.
Missy
My guess is that she wasn't well-known enough to be considered for big-screen involvement. That said, because of the embargo, because she was used in the cartoon, she then became more popular. So if there's ever a second Bat-embargo, I would not be surprised if she were included. KnightWing
Is Huntress commonly recognized as a Batman character? I thought she was more "closely related," like the Skrulls and the FF.
Missy
Pre-Crisis she was the daughter of the Earth-Two Batman and Catwoman.
KnightWing
Yeah, but post-Crisis she was re-imagined as a non-bat character, right?
Missy
She was tied to Nightwing for a while.
MissDaria
She was tied to Nightwing for a while. Yeah, post-Crisis, she was pretty much part of the Bat-Family. Thanks - I hadn't thought of the 'unwanted' angle.
Stavros
She was one of the Birds of Prey, which I always thought of as a Bat-book because for much of it Oracle is working as part of the Bat family too. Plus Huntress was working out of Gotham.
Garfield
Given that the entire Birds of Prey appeared in Batman: The Brave and The Bold, the embargo is apparently a pretty fickle one.
KnightWing
The embargo didn't apply to Brave and the Bold.
Donomark
The embargo was due to the Batman cartoon show IIRC. It's a good question though. I imagine it only applied to character The Batman was definitely going to use. They could've signed off on the Huntress.
