Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter

Recommended Posts

20th Century Fox has acquired the film rights for the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov and produced by Tim Burton.

The script for the 3D project was written by Grahame-Smith. The studio is planning a 2012 release.

Timur Bekmambetov is one of my favourite action directors going, so this should be a lot of fun. Nightwatch, Daywatch and Wanted were all startlingly innovative on the action front so I'll be greatly looking forward to this one.

I haven't read the book but I'm pretty sure it wasn't in 3D.

If you haven't read it how do you know? Might be a pop-up book.

Benjamin Walker has landed the title role of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted).

Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the novel which inspired the film, also penned the script. Timur Bekmambetov will also co-produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley.

The story centers on the president's quest to rid the world of vampires, presented as the real conflict behind the Civil War.

Walker recently starred in "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson," both on- and off-Broadway.

20th Century Fox has scheduled the film, to be shot in 3D, for a release on June 22, 2012. Shooting starts in March.

What I really would like to see is an adaptation of either 'Mr Darcy, Vampire' or 'Pride & Prejudice and Zombies'. Maybe even 'Queen Victoria, Demon Hunter'

Please search for existing topics before starting new ones, especially if they're films and stuff that have been announced for a while. I've merged them.
