dc20willsave
NBC has picked up the first new series of the season, the Matthew Perry Comedy, Go On. I figure this will either be anchoring Thursday or Wednesday night.
dc20willsave
A score card of what's been renewed already, what's looking likely, what's on the bubble, and what's basically dead in the water. Can I just say I hope they start picking off CSIs?
Kenny Evil
If Community and 30 Rock can make it another year, I'd be grateful. Good to see that they're confident about Parks & Rec.
dc20willsave
Fringe has been renewed for a final 13 episode series. Fuck YES!!!
dc20willsave
Two and a Half Men is likely returning for next year. Rather annoying but whatever.
JasonC
Damn, I was hoping Alcatraz would make it to a second season. But I am mollified by a second season of Person of Interest
dc20willsave
It's looking like Parks and Recreation, Community, and 30 Rock are going to get renewed, just in smaller 13 episode seasons. In the case of 30 Rock, it's going to be the final season. Keep in mind that this is not official yet. Thanks to Koete for the information. Venneh
Chris and Will were right; 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, and Community are getting limited 13 episode send off seasons, followed by cancellation
Dan
Motherfucker. 30 Rock is pretty much at or even somewhat past its sell by date, and it makes sense for Community to wrap things up in season four, but... damn. I'd rather see them get a chance to end their stories before they get too old, but even so. Crap.
dc20willsave
Hannah, to be honest, your source couldn't even be bothered to name a character on Community ("whoever's in "Community." Really?) and there was only an official statement from NBC today on an actual industry news site about 30 Rock. More likely, they saw the news item and misread it. Venneh
Okay, I'll take that. Here's hoping they get a little more life in 'em.
dc20willsave
That said, like Dan said, it would make sense if Community ended after four years since, traditionally, that's the length of a college career. Of course, Greendale is largely incompetent so four years might be giving it too much credit.
JackFetch
That said, like Dan said, it would make sense if Community ended after four years since, traditionally, that's the length of a college career. Of course, Greendale is largely incompetent so four years might be giving it too much credit. If I recall correctly, the first season took place in one semester. They mention it in the season 2 opener when trying to find a new class to take together. I thought it was weird since they celebrated holidays that are not close together. Dan
This is me being extremely torn. On the one hand, I want Community (and Parks and Rec, but for the moment this is what I'm focusing on) to be awesome forever and ever and ever amen. #SixSeasonsAndAMovie However, I'm a BIG believer in ending things when they're good. I would rather have four awesome seasons than seven up and down ones.
Venneh
Well, the 13 episode order is official for Community, no word of its future beyond that.
slothian
Well, the 13 episode order is official for Community, no word of its future beyond that. Torchwood had 3 full order seasons (admittedly, in the British sense), and then cut down their 4th season heavily. The resulting Torchwood: Children of Earth was by far the show's finest moment. Admittedly, the two shows don't directly compare in terms of content, but a shorter running order isn't automatically a portent of doom. In Britain, at least. dc20willsave
Besides, if its positioned at the beginning of the season and ratings improve then the network can always make an order for a back 9. Anythings possible.
dc20willsave
CBS has canceled CSI: Miami. Cue the Horatio Caine jokes.

Teasers for Revolution, Go on, Animal Practice, and The New Normal. Revolution looks like it's trying to be Lost but not in the good way. Among other things, I have an incredible problem with the premise. If whatever happened caused even the cars to stop working, then that means it took out combustion meaning that fire doesn't work. JackFetch
I see Community has been moved to the Friday night death slot. There is zero chance of a back 9 order now.
dc20willsave
Not necessarily. It could siphon off some viewers from Grimm which it's leading into. It really all depends. The Friday night slot is not a guaranteed death sentence anymore. It helps that nothing on the night is a ratings giant. It'll all depend on what else it has going against it. Koete
Case in point: Fringe.
JackFetch
Nothing on Friday is a ratings giant because it's the death slot. Nobody is home on Friday nights to watch tv. It's always been that way. It's where shows about to be canceled get moved to.

How does it look like Lost? If you said it looks like a ripoff of Jericho, then you would be onto something.
