Michael Douglas is playing Hank Pym.

So, does that mean that Paul Rudd is playing Scott Lang or Eric O'grady?

A few days ago, Wright tweeted a still of an episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes in which Scott Lang stole Pym's Ant-Man costume and equipment, calling it "research".

Michael Douglas is a brilliant actor, and every time I see him he loses himself in his roles. Edgar Wright is a director I've believed in since he turned a horror-comedy into a horror movie with heart. And though I've barely seen Paul Rudd in anything, I trust Michael Douglas and Edgar Wright can drag him to excellence as Scott Lang ( :buttrock:) or Eric O'Grady.

Unless Marvel is pushing for O'Grady, and I seriously doubt it, it'll be Lang. Wright has come out and called Lang his favorite, and Lang is the current Ant-Man in the pages of FF.

To be fair, it doesn't matter if he's Lang or O'Grady. He's going to be the MMU version of the Ant-Man character, and, given Rudd's oeuvre (yup, I used that word), it'll probably slant more towards O'Grady.

Not that it realistically matters, but has it been confirmed which Ant-Man this is going to be? I assume that whichever name they use the character will end up acting like a somewhat less assholish and more lovable Eric O'Grady.

Ha! Missed that. Great minds and all that.

Basically, take Eric's chronic irresponsibility and womanizing and graft it onto Scott's history as a thief and engineer. Add Cassie so he has to man up in Act Three. It writes itself.

TheWrap is reporting that actor Michael Pena has been offered an role in Marvel Studios' upcoming Ant-Man, though it's unclear what character he would portray should he sign on. Production on the film is expected to begin this spring in Georgia, with Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd already cast as Hank Pym and Scott Lang, respectively.

Pena can be seen in theaters now in David O. Russell's American Hustle. He's also well known for appearing in End of Watch, Shooter, "The Shield," and "Eastbound & Down."

I have zero idea who the likely villain in this could be. However, if they bring in The Fox I'll mark out, especially if he and Ant Man wind up in a theft war with each other again.

Major villain could just be an evil Shield agent like in Irredeemable.

Is it just me thinking that the villain will be Pym? Not full on evil villain though, but one that can be redeemed at the end by Lang taking on the suit and winning the day

I'm sure we're gonna hear from Wright soon, but man, I am really wondering what went down here.
