Missy
Yes. The headless witch freaked. Me. Out! I keep meaning to rewatch it to see if it holds up.
dc20willsave
The Wizard of Oz is one of the films that makes up my top 5. I've always had a fascination for all things Ox. Return to Oz is a slightly flawed film that's freaky as all shit. Between the Wheelers and this shit: Yeah, this is definitely on the list of Hey Gurlfriend Topics. JackFetch
i love it, and wish they remade it today because the special effects do not stand up. I never understood why Fairuza Balk never become a star. She was a good child actress.
Kenny Evil
I've never seen it but I love the concept and I agree with Jack that it's a film that's in need of a modern-day remake.

Garfield
The movie was really creepy, and completely at odds with the feel of the original. On the other hand, it had a lot of dark elements to it that were in the original Oz book written by L. Frank Baum. It's an interesting conrast on that basis alone. dc20willsave
Yeah, the real problem is that they were trying to capture some of the feel of the 1939 film while also exploring some of the darker elements of Baum's books. They chose some good moments from The Marvelous Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz for the film while changing some things to what made the earlier film recognizable (the Ruby Slippers, Dorthy's companions) but overall, it gave the film some major moments of mood whiplash and I'm sure most of the parents didn't know that they were taking their kids to see a room of screaming heads. Badhead
the film starts with Dorothy in a hospital being kept awake by the screams of people getting electric shock therapy.
