Spoiler
What I adore about the bi-generation is it followed up on Donna and Rose telling The Doctor to "just let it go." He heard them and reacted as The Doctor would: he split into two. Fifteen literally released his trauma, he pushed it away. In other words, he just let it go.
So while 14 still has to deal with it and heal, 15 is allowed to move on. Not only does it give 14 space to live and breath and process with a family, it also tells the audience that self reflection is good while providing 15 a bit of a reset.

Me: Why do people crush on The Doctor?
Also Me: I will raze planets just to be near Ncuti Gatwa's smile.

Interesting. I could go along with that.
And yes, that's it.

I made a noise so loud Shana called from the other room to make sure I was okay.

That was a clever bit.
SpoilerIt frees Raven of that sin while revealing Irene's tangled web of manipulations. In so doing, any anger Kurt held against Raven is now transferred to Irene.
Further, Kurt now has to face the fact he was literally created to look like a demon, to be abused and hated and feared, to doubt himself and even sometimes God, all to rise above the pain and be a ray of hope in the world. He's a Chosen One but only through his mother's machinations, so what's that say of God's plan? Is Destiny's plan the same as God's, did God guide her hand, or is she even manipulating Him?
There are miles upon miles of story to get out of this.

X-Men Blue: Origins did the unthinkable. After 42 years, Marvel...
SpoilerSeriously. MAJOR spoilers!
Spoiler... finally made it canon that Mystique is Nightcrawler's father and his mother is Destiny. And they did so without retconning a single word of The Draco, in which it was revealed Azazel is Kurt's father. Sort of.
The new canon states when Raven took a male form to impregnate Irene, and did so by “borrowing traits from the flesh I'd touched, the people I've known -- Christian, Azazel, and countless others -- they were but the shades on my palette.” So she mimicked the profiles of several men, including Azazel, to make baby Kurt. Hence why Kurt looks like Azazel but is not at all his child.

Sigourney Weaver - Aliens, Gorillas in the Mist, Working Girl. The reason I say Aliens is because you can track how far Ripley changes between the start of Alien and the ending of Aliens.
-
Men in Black or Independence Day, and I'd lean towards MIB as it's tighter and focuses on Smith. Then I'd go with Ali and either The Pursuit of Happyness or King Richard.

Ohhh!

My iPhone is so old, I don't have enough storage to download it.

I might have to give it a try. It looks interesting.

Is it a card-based mobile game?

I went in with no anticipation but came out the other side somewhat excited.
SpoilerBased on his look, I'm thinking Ezekiel is going to turn out to really be Morlun in a Ducard / Ra's al Ghul-type of twist.

What If...Miles Morales #1: a fun what if Miles Morales became Captain America. But, it looks like we're just going to do the mulitverse shit for the following issues. Oh, next he's Wolverine? Fucking great...
Oh man, I cannot wait -- and I mean CANNOT --until you get to the Thor issue.

Then, a fourth part, where the top 10 movies are re-ranked for a definitive list.
I've left off Twilight Zone: The Movie because he only directed a segment, and Poltergeist because his involvement is somewhat controversial and as clear as mud.

They pretty much have to.
-
Action Comics #385-387 - Superman is shunted way into the future and kinda loses his mind 'cause he can't return home. And the resolution is bleak if you think about it. And then some crazy adventure where Superman lands on a duplicate Earth.
Alan Scott: Green Lantern #1 - I'll give it another before I decide if I'm monthly or trades.
Avengers Inc. #1 - Not for me.
Batman and Robin #1-2 (2023) - Great art and it's awesome seeing Bruce be a dad to Damian, but something feels a little off. I'll stick with it, though probably in trades.
The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #1-4 (2021) - While I might not finish this 12-issue run, nor pick up the second volume, this was fun and I hope it's a gateway for lots of new readers.
Batman and The Outsiders #1-2 (1983) - Oh I am sticking with this.
Batman / Superman: World's Finest #19-20 - I need something new here. It was clicking but now I feel a little disconnected.
Birds of Prey #1-2 (2023) - I'll jump to the trades here, but this is a hell of a lot of kick-ass fun.
Black Lightning #3-11 (1977) - It's a shame this didn't get more traction at the time, because it's trying new things and could have generated readers.
The Brave and the Bold #25 (1955) - The very first Suicide Squad story and holy shit this is awesome!
Detective Comics #269-279 - Near the end of this group, the Martian Manhunter strip changes. J'onn's powers are decreased, a supporting cast appears (or begins to), and the world knows J'onn exists. It's also becoming a little sillier, but not at the cost of it being a crime comic -- it's just one featuring a Martian police officer.
The Flash #1 (2023) - DC has no damn clue what to do with Wally.
Green Lantern: War Journal #1-2 - Lots of heart, and John is not to be fucked with.
Hellblazer #6-12 - Great but bleak stuff. Be in the right mindset for these stories.
Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong #1 - I'm here for the JLA v monsters.
Nightwing #106 (2016) - Kinda getting burnt out here.
Ninjak #0 (2017) and Ninja-K #1-2 - I think I'll stick around.
Planetary #1-27, Planetary / The Authority: Ruling the World, Planetary / Batman: Night on Earth, Planetary / JLA: Terra Occulta
This series, as beautiful as it is, did not hold up as well as I had expected and, frankly, hoped. It seems it's going in one direction, pivots, and pivots again. It relies too heavily on the concept to the detriment of characterization. Characters grow, sure, but it's too interested in being cool and snarky at time than allowing them to feel like people.Sheriff of Babylon #1 - Too cynical for me. But that's kinda the point, I suspect.
Showcase #22 - The very first Hal Jordan story and it's so much better than I remember.
Transformers #1 (2023) - I was surprisingly into this.
Wonder Woman #770-772 - Beautiful but taking way too long to get the point.
Total: 706

Good Will Hunting, The Bourne Identity, and Downsizing.

Watch, it'll turn out that's the one I've seen clips from.

They'll have to find a way for the Meta-Crisis Doctor to be there too.

It's very much a "hey, the first one was successful in its brutality and stark, unrelenting nihilism. Let's make the sequel for kids! Then, they would continue that slide with a Saturday morning cartoon. I too enjoy "...The Destroyer" as well as "Red Sonja" (he's not Conan in that but he might as well be). But nothing in the sword and sorcery genre touches the first film.
Also probably the best DVD commentary ever.
I don't think I've ever actually seen the Arnold Conan. Parts, sure. But never the whole thing.

I've been on a Columbo binge, and at least twice now I've noticed Peter Falk looking and acting rough. In one of the episodes I don't think it's mentioned at all, but in the other one ("A Stitch in Crime," the Leonard Nimoy episode) he's clearly hungover. So much so, they had to write around it by claiming Mrs. Columbo (not that one) was up sick all night so he couldn't sleep.

The Doctor Who thread
in Horror, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy
Posted
Been seeing a lot of "They didn't mention Martha" and "They didn't mention Yaz" rage tweets.
They only mentioned the people who died (Amy, Clara, Bill, Adric, River, Sarah Jane) or whom The Doctor can never meet again (Rose).
Yes it would have been nice to hear certain names, but that wasn't the point. Naming living companions muddies the waters for fan service.
