  1. I've got tickets for later today and I have managed to remain unspoiled. But I am seriously considering waiting until the crowds die down. Next week sometime. I'm suddenly finding it very hard to care.
  2. The Mighty Thor #1: I picked up the initial run pre secret wars when they introduced the female Thor solely because I wanted to know who she was. I had no idea but I figured there was no way it could be Jane Foster because that would be too obvious. Shows what I know. I picked up the restart because I was still curious. I liked it. I am particularly interested in what wielding Mjolnir is doing to her fight against cancer and her attitude to that. I will be putting this on my monthly pull list just for that thread alone.
  3. I'm not always negative... am I? I'm pretty sure I've been positive about a number of things on these forums. And I would like to know what movies are considered sentimental. Just because I can't think of any off the top of my head, doesn't mean there aren't some I don't like.
  4. Don't have any that I can think of. What would you say was a sentimental movie?
  5. Oh great. Because connected universes are where the money is at these days, everyone wants one. But none of them are willing to do the prep work like Marvel did. They want it nownownownowNOW. I give up.
  6. This is one of only three films that I have ever walked out of. It just annoyed the hell out of me from start to finish. Even the awesomeness that is Joe Pesci couldn't keep me in my seat. And my favourite Christmas movie is of course Die Hard.
  7. There were comics? the trailer looks pretty damn impressive and I will be going to see the movie with bells on. The website is pretty interesting too. Nice to see that someone has actually put some thought into what's been going on in that world since the movie.
  8. I'll be over here, waiting for the new series - in the original timeline - to arrive. Time to bring Star Trek back what its supposed to be.
  9. Eh. He's fine when he's only in a producer role. The Fox thing is uninspired pandering at the highest level, but it's a holdover from the first movie. Still no interest at all in seeing it, mind you. If either of them are involved in any way in a movie, I avoid that movie.
  10. Made by Michael Bay and starring Megan Fox? Avoid at all costs.
  11. As it happens, I am interested to see Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman and Gil Gadot's Diana. I think Batman fits the overall dark tone they are going for. And I am very much wanting to see Suicide Squad, which also fits in that ethos. And I love the Gods and Monsters animated feature. Which is about as dark as it gets.
  12. Just finished watching Hell Bent. I am so fucking pissed at Stephen fucking Moffat right now its not even fucking funny.
  13. Huh. Didn't realise I was that predictable. I would respond but you probably know what I'm going to say. I am trying not to rant quite so much any more anyway. I had someone I've known for a while block me on FB over my opinion on Clara Oswald & River Song last week, so now I am attempting - and partially succeeding - at trying not to be so absolute about things. DCU movies seem to be able to get past my control though. I'll have to work on that.
  14. I would LOVE for the films to get it right. The TV shows and animated features are spot on but the movies just go big and bloated and grimdark. I like the MCU because the movies are bright, colourful and fun, heroes are real and there is always hope that things can be better. DC movies are dark, dour and grim, where no shred of hope exists, and heroism is an outdated concept.
  15. "Is she with you?" "I thought she was with you." The fact that he has to say that he could have killed someone if he wanted to, convinces me more than ever that Cavil's character is not Superman but a thug with the same name and powers. I'm still going to see it, I'm just not fooling myself that its Superman any more.
  16. I will admit to forgetting how good Callista Flockhart can be.
  17. I have been watching the show since 'Spearhead From Space'. I will always watch Doctor Who. Doesn't matter if I don't like a companion (Adric, Tegan, Clara) or the writing, or a character, or a story, or anything else about it. I will always watch it. We lost the show for 16 years. I will never take it for granted that its on the air.
  18. It took me till the first time he reset to figure out what was going on. And I didn't get 'BIRD', until they hit you over the head with the explanation. Maybe I'm thick.
  19. It was a Network show. If It had been on the CW, it would have been fine. It also means I'm worried about Supergirl.
  20. As long as Matt Ryan plays him.
