Donovan's favourite film (just above Age of Ultron) vs a sub-par Disney film
Only one of them has the silly Nazi scientist...but only the other one has sexual harassment from squirrels.

The Sword in the Stone vs The Amazing Spider-Man 2
(Incidentally, this is less a reflection of my own Flickchart than just a general question. ASM2 somehow ended up being the most controversially ranked film in the latest FCF, judging from the feedback)

The original. The live action film has a phenomenal cast, but if you strip it back/notice the credits, it's simply a 90s John Hughes film using the 101 Dalmations story. By which I mean adult antagonists consistently humiliated by children/animals. Does Cruella de Vil need to be dropped in a vat of molasses? Hardly. But that's the kind of thing you get in the Home Alone films, Dennis the Menace, Baby's Day Out....

My thoughts on the original will be in Episode 14, but I'm inclined to agree with both of you. That said, I'd love it be a covered if HAA! ever did a Glenn Close month. She chews the scenery like a starving shark that stumbled upon a whale carcass and she actually got herself covered in molasses and baked into a cake in its sequel, rather than having a stuntperson or CG double get subjected to it her place. Also, unlike most John Hughes I know of, there are no annoying teenagers.

was a very pleasant surprise. 😆

In fairness, I haven't seen Sleeping Beauty for the longest time. But Jim Carrey prancing about in green spandex is almost immediately better than a film that only has Maleficient going for it.
I think there's more to the film than just her, but to hear why (or if you agree with Pandy, why not), give Episode 13 a listen!

Nah, just kidding. I like them both and @Donomark you're definitely not alone.

The original murder-hornet, Marowak's last stand (don't worry @Missy; I have further plans for Cubone), delinquent Ditto, and more!
(More complete and to follow but holding off on revealing a few until around Halloween.)

I've accepted a new job that pays over £1,500 in terms of base salary than what I'm on now. Still a quasi-lawyer, but I'll have more opportunity to pivot into something I really want to do with this role. Starts January - can't wait!
Congrats man!

Would need to watch both again - aside from the Siamese cats scaring the shit out of me aged 4, I have no memories of Lady & the Tramp. And Notting Hill is very problematic on a diversity front.
Superman (1978) vs Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Good question 🤔 I think taken on their own, Spider-Verse is the better film (plus it doesn't have a goofy-ass climax), but considering the first Superman movie essentially birthed the superhero film as a serious film genre, it probably tops it.
Lady and the Tramp is also problematic on the diversity front (albeit through its presentation of diversity rather than because of the absence of it), hence why I paired it with Notting Hill.

One of cinema's greatest moments.
Amen! He’s quite good in Pride, Peaky Blinders, and his one scene in The Death of Stalin as well.

Hook is less offensive, even with Phil Collins acting in it.
Incidentally, I'd love for someone to explain to me the hatedom of Phil Collins -- and by extension Tarzan -- before I get to that film on POYW. I'm ambivalent about him at the moment, but is the hate mainly the product of bitter South Park fans or is there more to it than that (like dating back to his band and solo career in the 80s and 90s)?
