  1. Hate to be the one stick in the mud but I really enjoy the Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever episode as well as the first era of the show. That being said 2013 was a tough year for you guys and I thank you for gritting your teeth through the pain. Seriously stoked for 2014 and yeah that teaser only cemented my excitement.
  2. It seems I'm in the minority but I love John Simm's Master so much. Rewatching the end of the third modern season made me realize what a great dynamic he and David Tennant had. Sure he can be a bit hammy at times but really watch him and his serious, dark moments far outnumber the cheesy ones. Least favorite: Silurians. Don't hate them, I just like everyone else on the list a lot more.
  3. Just look at Iron Man. Before the movie he was pretty obscure. Marvel's done a really good job with their movie movement and bringing lesser known heroes to the forefront.
  4. I was doing some teaching at AWANA and the theme of the night was superheroes. The kids were asked to name some superheroes they knew and I was very impressed to hear several of them mention Hawkeye. He's really become a household name.
  5. I saw this in theaters without any knowledge of G.I. Joe. I knew they were soldiers and I might've seen some action figures at Target, but that was it. This is worse than the first Transformers movie (I'd argue the two sequels are on a whole different level of bad). I'll also say Christopher Eccleston is my favorite Doctor, so this was not an enjoyable experience. The ninja battles between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are very cool, but this is just another classic case of Hollywood having way too much money for special effects and not enough story. Don't even get me started on the stale relationships!!!!
  6. All the movies you guys covered were horrible, but Showgirls sounded like the worst. Even during the episode Mike comments about how much recording the podcast is boring him. It's the one episode I couldn't bring myself to laugh at the pain because it wasn't funny. Really the only LOL moments are references to Nic Cage's career.

    Episode 38

I don't know for sure, but I think Wonder City might be a reference to the City of the Future from Mask of the Phantasm. Given that Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill voice Batman and the Joker I wouldn't be surprised if there were more Batman the Animated Series references.
  8. It's one of the greatest sci-fi RTS series of all time!!!

The Riddler trailer for Arkham City is awesome. It looks like Saw done right.
  10. Why did this movie need two parts? Two part movies should be saved for things like the last Harry Potter or the Hobbit, not this piece of garbage!!!
  11. I absolutely adore this story!!!

I was reminiscing when I remembered a show on Playhouse Disney called Out of the Box which very much reminded me of the Box. The theme is actually kind of catchy.
  13. You guys rally green egg and hammed it
  14. Wow, I cranked this one out fast. I figured why keepp waiting. Might be a while until next one.
  15. Valhalla: Volume I Chapter III : The Dire Stone Written by: Reece Heinen On the shores of the Dark Lakes Deltacron squared off against his brother, Colossor, and his lackeys. "Brother, this wellspring is mine." Colossor threatened. "Find your own." "I'm afraid no wellspring is yours, Colossor." Deltacron said through gritted teeth. He clenched his robotic fist together and punched his brother back. The grunts sprang forward, but Deltacron was able to throw them off, while crushing others. The lake started to vibrate and hissing filled the air. Suddenly, giant green snakes with spiny arms clawed their way onto land, slicing through Colossor's men. The red men fought off a few vipers, but their leader leaped up and crushed the survivors. "What is this?" Colossor asked. He pushed Deltacron back and went for the viper leader. After a few seconds of hand to hand combat Colossor had a nasty gash on his cheek and he leaped up for his portal. His remaining followers took off with him. The giant snake turned towards Deltacron. "I am the Venoc Warlord of General Ullar. What is your purpose here?" the warlord hissed. "I am Deltacron from the planet Earth, year 2346. I came to this world to protect the powerful wellsprings from evil creatures that are coming." Deltacron explained. "General Ullar would be most interested in this." the Venoc Warlord pondered. "Will you travel with us to his fortress?" "Yes," Deltacron said. "The Archkyrie of this world must unite or all is lost." On Feylund, Marhana's son, Morsbane was the current Elf Banisher and he now wielded the Rod of Negation. He was gathered with the Nine, powerful wizards in the elven world. "My friends I have gathered you here today for the safety of our world. The dark lord Khosumet is moving hordes of his wolves to take the Dire Stone for their power." Morsbane said. "Where is the stone now, Banisher?" Emirrroon asked. "Our Princess Kyntela has taken the gryphillin, Theracus and is racing back to secure the Stone. We are to guard her when the wolves attack." Morsbane told the young elf. Chardris and his daughter Jorhdawn nodded. "Where are Ulginesh and Sonlen?" another wizard asked. " I sent them to secure our line of defense, Arkmer." Morsbane said. "Also, the archer, Syvarris, was tasked with protecting Kyntela from afar. He's the greatest marksman on Feylund." Somewhere within the deep forests of Feylund, Syvarris had tried his best to lead a threat away from Kyntela, but now it was following him. He found some high ground on a boulder embedded in the ground and aimed an arrow at the unmoving forest. "Where are you Khosumet?" the elf muttered to himself. Abruptly, the woods seemed to tear themselves apart as a giant foul-smelling troll burst forward with a giant club. Syvarris was surprised to see Krug, but he quickly shot arrows at the monster. Krug charged forward, slashing at the archer. Syvarris back flipped and lined at an arrow at the troll's head. Krug was about to squish Syvarris with his club, but the elf vanished into nothing. The troll was left to scratch his head. Agent Carr and his Krav Maga agents appeared in a vast throne room, made completely of grey stone. They looked around for any sign of life. "Welcome Krav Maga agents." said a deep voice. Carr pivoted and pointed his pistol. An old man with black hair and large grey wings sat in a throne. "Who are you?" Carr asked. "I am your savior, General Vydar. You will serve my army in this war against the evil forces of Utgar..." Sergeant Drake Alexander, Raelin, and Kelda wandered the empty foothills. "Well, human let's see if you have what it takes to survive in Valhalla." Raelin told Drake. She raised a spear towards Drake's face and he bashed it away with the Katana of Thorian. "Raelin, Drake, look!" Kelda screamed. On the other side of the field Drake could make out a couple of small robots marching very slowly. "What are those things?" Drake asked. "Soulborgs working for Utgar!" Raelin shouted. One of the robots raised a machine gun and started firing at Drake. Through Thorian's speed Alexander dodged the bullets. He held his Katana towards the advancing Soulborgs. Back at Jandar's fortress, an Airborne Elite guarded a corridor with an automatic rifle. He paced down the hall and turned around to go back. Suddenly, a scythe splattered into his chest and he fell over dead. His corpse was moved aside and a newly conjured skeletal reaper scuttled down the hallway. To be continued... 16. Valhalla: Volume I Chapter II : Pieces Start to Move Written by: Reece Heinen The forests of Feylund may seem peaceful and even enchanting to someone on the outside. However, you won't have to go in far to realize what a treacherous and brutal warzone it truly is. Elf mages struggle to keep the peace with threats like the troll Krug and the dark lord werewolf, Khosumet. Despite all this the elves succeeded until Sudema came. No one knew where this undead queen whose stare could turn you to stone came from. All they knew was that she must be defeated. Marhana, the Elf Banisher at the time, formed an unlikely alliance with Khosumet and his wolf hordes. Wielding the Rod of Negation they clashed with Sudema in a battle that Feylund had never seen. Marhana used the Rod to negate Sudema's power, but Khosumet turned on the Banisher and killed her. Nobody on Feylund has seen Sudema for over twenty years, but there are always whispers that the undead shall rise once more... On Valhalla Jandar and Sergeant Drake Alexander entered a large meeting room. A woman was waiting for them. She had wings like Jandar, but grey skin and blue clothing that covered most of her body. White silky hair hung past her shoulders. "Good day, General Jandar." the woman greeted. "Fine morning to you, Kelda." Jandar said smiling. "This is Drake Alexander. He's the soldier from Earth." "Ah, I heard you might need some medical attention." Kelda said. She placed a hand on Drake's forehead and started to mumble incoherent words. Drake could feel all of his scars and bruises healing and looked at Kelda in a wordless thank you. "Well, Sergeant, if you are going to fight you will need some weapons." Jandar stated. "I had some specially made for you. This is the Katana of Thorian." He placed the curved sword in Drake's hand. "Not only will it cut through your enemies, but it will grant you speed to make you an impossible target from afar." Drake held the blade in respect. "And that's not all. May I present Bleakwood's Grapple Gun." The large gun had a grapple hook attached to the end and an advanced targeting system. "I cannot thank you enough for these gifts." Drake said. "Thank me by fighting well on the frontlines." Jandar said. "That is all I ask for." "Speaking of fighting," said a different voice. Another Kyrie with a winged helmet and a long spear stood in the doorway. "So this is the new recruit." "Easy, Raelin." said Jandar. "Raelin was one of the first warriors to join my cause." "And I will fight for you until the death, sir." Raelin shouted. "Perfect. You will take Drake and Kelda out tomorrow on a training drill." Jandar instructed. "It'll be great with little Miss Boot Camp." Drake muttered under his breath. Earth- 2234: New York City was never dark and lights shone all throughout the night. Some were promotional ads, others were the lights in people's homes, but they all kept back the darkness. One building that wasn't lit wouldn't have drawn much attention in the daytime. It was a dull gray with almost no windows and no writing to indicate what function the building served. Far inside the dull structure an African American man with no hair except a long pony tail adjusted his overcoat. Several more agents surrounded him with pistols. "Carr, what's going on?" one of the gunman asked. "It seems Mr. Valkrill has pulled our chain. Be on guard Krav Magas." Agent Carr said. The agents looked around the massive room they were in. Storage crates were stacked almost as high as the ceiling in parts and clearly defined hallways had been paved between the boxes. A shrill war cry echoed throughout the warehouse. Carr pull a sword a third of the way out of its sheath and held his pistol up near his ear. Suddenly, men with skin as dark as charcoal and long white hair leapt out of hiding with swords and shields. The Krav Maga agents fired desperately, but were sliced up when the drow got close. Carr shot one of the freaks through the forehead and skewered another's guts with his sword before he noticed one drow hanging behind the others. It swung a metal chain around its head in a strange martial art. Carr smirked and raised his pistol to fire, but the drow whipped it out of his hand. Agent Carr held his blade up menacingly, but the chain fighter wrapped his chain around Carr's sword and pulled him forward. Before Carr could reach the crate the drow was on a black foot met his chest and he was left dangling from the chain. Agent Carr let go of the weapon and barely dodged the other end of the chain. He grabbed the other end and pulled the drow into close combat. The drow struggled to regain control of his chain, but one of Carr's fists cut him up at the jaw and he landed farther down one of the halls. Carr bent down to pick up his gun and shot his enemy through the heart before retrieving his sword. He was surprised to see only a handful of Krav Magas left and they were getting beaten bad by the drow. Carr tried to run to help them, but a bright light struck him and his agents. The remaining drow were left in the room alone. Abruptly, a black portal opened. "You are needed elsewhere, drow. Valkrill commands that you go to Valhalla." a dark voice commanded. The drow formed a line and walked into the portal before disappearing from sight. Near one of the Dark Lakes in Valhalla Deltacron appeared. He held his arm up to the lake, scanning it with sensors. "The wellspring must be at the bottom." the boy concluded. Suddenly, more portals opened and red robotic men surrounded Deltacron. One of them was especially huge. "Hello, brother." the giant bellowed. Deltacron looked around in fear. "Hello, Colossor." ... To be continued... 17. Valhalla: Volume I Chapter I : Drake Written by: Reece Heinen Gunfire was the only sound on the decimated field in France, 1942. American soldiers struggled to hold their lines against an overwhelming German force. In the bloodied trenches a lone soldier crawled desperately on his stomach. His name was Sergeant Drake Alexander and he was trying to flank the ever- pressing enemy. "Make sure none of those American pigs got past our lines." a commander yelled in German. Two Nazi soldiers started scanning the area. Drake tried not to breath and held his rifle close. A German walked up to the trench, kicking loose dirt down on Alexander. Drake grabbed his leg and pulled the soldier into the ditch before slamming the butt of his rifle on the man's head. The other started firing a Gewehr 98. Drake rolled and shot down the other guard. The German commander slowly turned towards Drake. Drake felt a sudden chill over his body and he shivered, uncontrollably. The commander's face dissolved off and it tore through its Nazi attire to reveal a black cloak surrounding a ghastly, skeletal face. Drake shot several rounds, but the bullets only pushed the reaper back. The skeletal reaper drew an impossibly long scythe from his robe and swung it behind his body. Abruptly, American airplanes passed overhead and dropped the Airborne Elite on parachutes. The American soldiers fired machine guns into the German fray, bringing down dozens of enemy soldiers. A couple bullets hit the reaper and he screamed at the soldiers. Drake charged at the skeleton screaming and bashed his gun on the reaper's neck. Alexander smiled grimly, but the twisted bones reattached themselves through some unknowable power. The skeletal reaper raised the scythe again and Drake accepted death in his heart. Suddenly, a brilliant burst of light shattered the tension and a swirling vortex emerged in the air. A mechanical blue behemoth leaped out, one hand an iron fist and the other a large claw. Drake was even more shocked to see a young boy inside the robot, operating it. The model name on the automaton read Deltacron. Deltacron punched the reaper down and lifted it into the air squirming. The reaper's eyes glowed yellow and suddenly dead Germans and Americans started shedding their skin and summoning spears from the ground. The robot threw the reaper back and started crushing its skeletal foes. "Save yourself, Sergeant Alexander." Deltacron screamed. Drake went for the ditch and dived in. The reaper mended himself back to life and found a Nazi grenade attached to a reanimated Nazi's uniform. He grabbed it pulled the pin. Drake crawled away from the fight as quickly as he could when he saw an armed grenade fly over his head. His eyes widened, but as the grenade exploded he felt himself being pulled away from his body. The reaper vanished as well and his minions fell to pieces. Deltacron looked around the battlefield in awe. He left through his portal before the Airborne Elite could see him. Drake awoke in a brightly lit room. He could hear people talking, but couldn't make sense of any of the words. "What happened?" he asked, rubbing his bruised head. "You were the victim of a powerful, undead being. Luckily, I saved you just in time." came a voice. "I've been watching you for a while now, Drake Alexander, and I can safely say your ability on the field of battle impresses me greatly." Drake looked up to see a bronze skinned man with the wings of a hawk. "But, why me?" Drake asked. "Am I dead?" "No, Drake, I have brought you to Valhalla to fight against the evil forces of Utgar." the hawk man explained. "Who's Utgar and who are you?" Alexander asked. "I am Jandar, one of the Valkyrie who partook of the magical waters from the wellsprings found on our once peaceful world. These waters granted youth and strength to those who drank them, but there was also a strange side-effect. They gave strange dreams of warriors throughout time and space and through careful meditation I was able to summon them to Valhalla. However, Utgar does not see my way on these wellsprings. He is summoning horrific creatures and entities to take the remainder of the springs." Jandar said. "Why should I fight for you? This isn't my world." Drake said. "If Utgar is allowed to destroy my world he will get to yours sooner or later." Jandar warned. "I will fight, Jandar, but not for your precious wellsprings, but for the boys back home who have no idea the danger their in." Drake said firmly. Jandar nodded and led the sergeant to another room. The reaper appeared in a fiery dungeon, limbs chained to a stone table. Several demonic grunts stood, looking over him. They all chattered amongst themselves. Suddenly, a door slammed and everyone became as silent as the grave. A tall armored knight walked towards the reaper while the demons bowed in terror. "It seems Valkrill has betrayed me." the knight said. He cast a red eye at his grunts. "Yes, Grazz't, Lord of the Viranti!" the demons chanted in eerie unison. "He bragged to me so of the skeletal reapers and their ability to serve. But, what is this. Defeated by a mere human. Not as great a warrior as I had thought." Grazz't said, clicking his tongue. "There was a Soulborg." the reaper rasped. "And I'm to believe that the residents of Alpha Prime are more powerful than my legion?" Grazz't asked sarcastically. The Viranti leader leaned in, waiting for an answer. "So, you willingly choose death. Kazzad." A demon, bird hybrid approached the reaper. A stone knife appeared in his thin hand and he stabbed into the reaper's heart. Flames engulfed the skeleton as it screamed in agony. "Valkrill will not be pleased." Kazzad said timidly. "That may be, but I need the wellsprings and no lesser being will get in my path." Grazz't threatened... To be continued...
