  1. My first guess is Captain America, and though I'm sticking with it, it seems a bit too obvious. However, it could be Tony Stark. Who's to say the Iron Man in Mighty Avengers is Tony? Hmm... Another temp masked Identity for cap? I think they learned their lesson from Nomad. Can't be Tony either, it screws up a heck of a lot of interesting character development if the current Tony isn't real. Worse than the whole "Hal Jordon didn't do it Parralax did" storyline. I thought is was Caps Avengers and Iron Mans Avengers. If this is the rogue Avengers then where is Spidey? Methinks the end of Civil War isn't going to be a simple as we might have thought. I'd be dissapointed if Spidey isn't on either Avengers roster since I think he really excels in a team environment. Spideys at his most fun when relating to other costumed heroes.
  2. That suit is pretty loyal to the existing one. Mind you, they could go batshit insane and create a massive manga battlesuit and I'm sure it would conform to one of the 240554 variations we've seen over the years. Gwyneth Paltrow? Curse of the underperforming boxoffice or "real actress" clout? We shall see. Re previous discussion, little kids might not care that they are in the same world, but Marvel and DC want their products to be identifiably thiers. They might not acknowlage it, but all the marvel movie world characters exist in the same world. We'll probably see crossovers at some point. Thats why one guy can't play two characters. Except Bruce Campbell.
  3. Mr burns looks awesome. I want to see an entire enpisode done in the anime style. That sort of thing worked out well for south park.
  4. Get them in order, its important to. It goes- Seed of Destruction Wake the Devil Chained Coffin Right Hand of Doom Conquerer Worm Strange Places Although its right about Strange places that you can move onto the BPRD spinoff series. There are also, 2 trades called Wierd Tales which feature short stories by writer's and artists other than Mignola. I would say that the wierd tales arn't essential continuity, hence me not including them. They are fun though, just not up to the regular book.
  5. I picked up Manhunter this week thanks to the cover, which featured the return of the Ted Kord Blue Beetle during the trial of Wonder Woman for the murder of Max Lord. Whilst this is probably a scheme to try and incriminate Diana (make Lord out to be an innocent victim by erasing his evildoing) I was sufficiently interested to pick it up (big Ted Kord fan). What was interesting though is the return of a group heavily associated with another favorite of mine, the Order of St. Dumas. For the uninitiated are the group responsible for the existance of Jean Paul Valley aka Azrael, who was a member of the bat-family and who replaced Bruce as Batman during the Knightfall event. Azreal was a solid favorite of mine for a long time in any format but his own book, which was pretty damn poor most of the time. Great concept, horrible execution. What is DC up to? An Azrael return (although he is presumed dead)? is the Order behind the Beetles return? What the fudge is going on? Ideas? Opinions? Answers on a postcard.
  6. Get them in order, its important to. It goes- Seed of Destruction Wake the Devil Chained Coffin Right Hand of Doom Conquerer Worm Strange Places Although its right about Strange places that you can move onto the BPRD spinoff series.
  7. The only Tat I would go with is a small Alias Rambaldi symbol on my hand in the event I win the lottery and never need to interview again (hand tats are a no-no in many jobs). I did once want a Captain Marvel gold star with black edging on top and red underneath. Maybe someday.
  8. Does Smithers come with Mr Burns also? I would think that the two would be a packaged deal. As I said, Mr Burns provides his own Toady. A Smitherless Burns is no Burns at all.
  9. Mr Burns- Leader of the former League of Evil. So evil his teddy bear inspired Hilter to genocide. Maintained an Iron grip on an entire city for over a century. Excellent worforce management skills. Provides his own toady. Deathstroke- Master tactician, superhuman relflexes. Brilliant mentoring ability. Juggernaut- Invunerable, great tank, big enough to draw fire and strong enough to fight anyone. Otto Octavious- Useful in a fight and the teams resident scientific genius, the Dr has a long history in crime and as part of a super-team could finally achieve his goals. Herman Von Klempt & Kriegaffe- Whats a superteam without an insane Nazi Scientist and his bio-engineered ape bodyguard. Brings extensive scientific and occult knowlage to the team. Harth Fray- Twin brother to Vampire Slayer Melaka Fray, possessing the slayer visions but at the same time being an extremely powerful Vampire. Occult expertise, a master of mind-games and fear.
  10. I wouldn't put it that high. Bruce revealing himself would cripple his ability to function as Batman. Peter is more of a target for the bad guys, but I don't think its caused Peter nearly as much of a problem. He has no personal wealth and no property for authorities to confiscate. Peter doesn't need a secret ID to function, its different to say, Matt Murdock's problems because unmasking didn't result in the goverment coming after him.
  11. I think at this point Wolvie actually has less emotional baggage, especially, since x-23 in her short life has killed her own mother involentarily, slaughtered dozens of people, been raised as a killing machine, undergone surgery without anaesthetic and worked as a teenage prostitute. Wolverine has faced so much emotion strife over the years that its hard to find something that would really affect him anymore. Hes much more of a known quantity.
  12. That's too bad it sounds like it would make a great ongoing series. I almost hate to read it knowing the potential it had for a long-term storyline.
  13. Fray sounds awesome i'm definately going to give that a read. Thanks for all the suggestions and recomendations guys Let me know what you think of Fray. I got a marvelholic friend of mine the first Invincible book for christmas after I reshelved my collection and realised I have more Indy comics than Marvel now. I really must emphaise that many writers like Brian K Vaughan, Ed Brubaker or Robert Kirkman do their best work on the books they do outside the big two.
  14. I'm concerned by the lack of Stand Alone Complex on some of these.
  15. Invincible- This Image title is a fantastic take on the comic book hero, drawing heavily on all things from Spider-man to the Justice League but at the same time putting it own twist in and making it its own. Cleanly drawn, fresh, fun, and at times dark and shocking, it is one of the best Superhero books available today. Walking Dead- a definitive Zombie tale, following the characters through a post apocalyptic world and seeing the long term effects on them and their families. Fray- Just because I don't push this enough. Its written by Joss Whedon, its Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The next generation. Set in the prototypical future (rich get richer, poor get poorer, flying cars) Whedon tells the story of new slayer Melaka Fray in a world that has forgotten even the myths of Vampires. Critically acclaimed and probably Joss's best comic book work, even better than Astonishing X-men. Jeph Loeb was pretty gushing in his foreword. Watchmen- Believe the hype. Just buy it, its brilliant. Alias- Jessica Jones, back before she was a current peripheral Avengers character, but shortly after her original stint as a peripheral Avengers character, owned and ran her own detective agency, whilst playing occasional bodyguard to Matt Murdock. Written by current Marvel kingpin Brian Michael Benis Alias is probably the best character driven short series Marvel has come up with in a long time. I'd certainly put it neck and neck with his Daredevil run, I'd even consider it a companion piece. Hellboy- Yes, please do try seed of destruction. Hellboy is great stuff.

    What is 52?

Jason Todd, was in Nightwings book OYL, and Black Marvel family member Osiris was in Teen Titans (on the list of short lived members during OYL). Plus Jasons slated to return in Teen Titans according to Deathstroke. On top of that appearances by Robin, Batman and co pretty much confirm that this is the norml DCU. On earth 2 Bats would be dead. Plus Nightwing meeting up with Batwoman? It can't be a different earth. 52 has something to do with Nightwing being meant to die in the Crisis doesn't it? I think it might also have something to do with the return of Kal-l later this year in JSA.
  17. Gah! Comic-book time moves so slowly. I was sure those were this year. Demasking of Spidey was probably the most significant thing to happen this year, ut at the time I was not liking civil war much, so it doesn't stand out like I thought it might. I need new moments, time for a quick trawl-through.
  18. Whats your favorite comic-book moment(s) of the year? Right now, the Ultimate Spidey/Kitty Pryde getting together moment probably tops the list. Most of the momorable stuff has been negative (Superboys/Booster Golds/Blue Beetles deaths). The proper return of Jason Todd was good stuff though. Also, for those who havn't read it, the DC Infinite Chrismas special has the funniest Superman/Batman story of all.
  19. Exactly. The 360 is my console of choice because it has the games I want with a controller I like. The PS3 controller would need to have significantly eveolved for me to consider using it for many games. I own as PS2 and its near unusable in some instances. I'll leave the Wii to my housemates and get the 360 for myself. Halo 3 baby!

    World War Hulk

I think thats why Peter overriding Starks immobilisation of his suit didn't ring true. Stark is a technical and tactical guy, wheras Peter always seemed more biological and radiological. Obviously their talents cross over to some degree, but I wouldn't have thought Peter could out-do Tony with machinery. The really smart Marvel guys are really smart at any scientific venture, which hurts when trying to individualise them. Big brains shouldn't be so interchangable.

    Make your own FF

I'll just continue making wild assumptions whilst avoiding her book then. People keep saying its good, is it?

    Make your own FF

JJJ has two connections to your FF team: Mattie, obviously, but his son is also married to She-Hulk. I forgot that! Man that would drive Jonah crazy. Surprisingly... no! JJJ and She-Hulk (last I read) are getting along just fine after deciding to sue Peter Parker. Thats because shes not an active Superhero though right? Put her in a position to potentially corrupt his daughter and it could be very different.
  23. Krang isn't Krang unless he can say "Shredder! Move the Technodrome!" Although I supposed there is alway "Rocksteady! Bebop! Move the Technodrome!"
