  1. So our local bad film club is showing a double bill of the ewoks films tonight. Chris and I are going with some friends. This is the first time I've seen them since before I started school (seriously, I was about 4). All to remember is a crashed ship with a trigger happy human and the attack at the start of the second film that gave me nightmares.
  2. Very fun guys. "That's where this goes!" killed me.
  3. Ditto. This could cap off what may be quietly the best Sci fi trilogy of modern times. Woody Harrelson looks scary.
  4. the boat bothers me too, it's your classic Peter saves public transport except impractically set. A boat splitting in two just would tear him apart, it's just madness.
  5. Does feel a lot like a Miles Morales film with Peter shoved into the role instead but still very fun. Just saying, credit the room mate as Ned Leeds all you like, that's Ganke.
  6. I agree athough there are people who think it's the Temple of Doom of that trilogy. I would love to hear the colective Wilson sibling exasperation at Fat Bastard though. Personally its Waynes World, Austin Powers 2 and The Love Guru. Very much the rise and fall of Myers as a franchise comedian. Plus John Olivery is in The Love Guru so I feel someone should watch it.
  7. Fine episode chaps. Highly recommended if anyone wants to hear Ian and Pandy discuss the acceptable use of blackface.
  8. It might seem like this is late but I prefer to think of it as a Happy Birthday from the future!
  9. Die Hard. Memento is an interesting intellectual exercise but it's hardly the peak of a genre.
  10. Oh god. Firstly, Doink makeup isn't hard. Of all the disappointing things about that doink I think that's the worst, the laziness if using a mask. Secondly, so I assume Jon is now working a gimmick where he's a blend of great IC champions each night. This week- What if Jeff Jarrett was the Mountie. Next week, what if The One Billy Gunn was the Honky Tonk man. Actually that might work.
  11. The reason I put Austin at two was because Austin could have won the IC title or beat someone on PPV and cut the same promo, but for Owen it was specifically winning the kotr that was important, because his brother was the first (of the PPV winners anyway).
  12. My official list 3. Booker T- Gave a platform for him to have a main event heel run and a well remembered character. Probably the best of the dumb actual king gimmicks. 2. Stone Cold Steve Austin- First major accomplishment and a statement made. Little initial traction but without it who knows if he faces Bret at Survivor Series? 1. Owen Hart- A key accomplishment that Owen held up to prove he was every bit as good as Bret. Back when the prestige was still high winning this was a big deal and solidified Owen as the dark mirror of Bret heading into Summerslam. Hon mentions William Regal was on track to be the best before he failed his test. Dude took the classic King gimmick to wonderful dark power crazed places. Kurt Angle- underrated amongst his other accolades. He actually got his first main event at Summerslam coming off this.
  13. Must have seen that ep a dozen times but this year was the first time I saw it since Breaking Bad. Love revisiting stuff and finding the hidden guest star. Rewatched Waltz and Duet this week. Goddamn, this is why DS9 is the best Star Trek.
  14. Sold. Although looking at the art after the episode I was struck by some of the recurring themes re women in comics from that period. The bondage imagery in the film doesn't come out of nowhere.
  15. It's like the prop dept was given a Macro discount card and that was their range. The Vancouver woods show that annoyed me most was still Stargate. So the first planet they visited was a desert world that totally fitted Eygptology theme of the show but every one since then has been the lush forests of Canada? Y'know Canada, where Osiris and Ra were known to spend a lot if time. Like was there a morman style sect of people who think the Egyptian gods came to the new world and thus this makes thematic sense that I don't get?
  16. Rewatching the film. It must have been a very long time since I saw it because I remember liking Dale more than Aura. That is not the case anymore. Ornella Muti is stunning. I also know that I saw this film for the first time before I had a real concept of what a movie was vs a TV show or anything else. Specifically I remember being quite traumatised by the execution of Flash. I must have been about 3-4 years old.
  17. Yeah, this was excellent, especially Probert gathering steam on the inventions bit to the point that it almost killed Dan. A fitting anniversary, fine work gentlemen!
  18. I'm not sure Klytus is fit to work in a school. I hear he's been organising sex-rings.
  19. Gonna back to back 899 and 900 at work today and honestly I shouldn't be this excited about it. But I am, because it's gonna be great.
  20. If yu don't have the production budget for wings you arent allowed to try to make a Flash Gordon TV show.
  21. 1. I'm glad you asked Damien, thats a smart question. I can confirm that this film, entitled Blood Widow, does indeed have a Blood Widow in it. 2. Fuck if I know.
