  1. I'll buck the trend and say the trailer didn't do much for me. It just reminds me of the Total Recall remake. It looks sleek and cool but also like it will be forgettable. I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. But for now I'm not interested.
  2. If I don’t think a movie is going to be good, I’m not going to watch it. It’s worked pretty well for me.
  3. Hey now. I think your humps look just fine.
  4. I think you're forgetting about a little place called Europe. And Australia. And New Zealand. And whatever other countries were covered under the PAL region.
  5. I was hoping to meet the guy next week at PAX Au. Giant Bomb is never going to be the same without Ryan there.
  6. This isn't exactly a question without precedent. There are single player mobile games that are lost in time because the games need to contact shut down servers to work. There are internet based games that basically just disappeared after they stopped being profitable. There’s never been anything on this level, but it’s a question worth asking; when the next generation ends and the general community have moved on, what incentive does Microsoft have to continue letting people access their games? It’s good publicity for sure, but there’s also the pressure to get people playing whatever comes next. It’s all a long way away, and we have no idea how this generation is going to pan out, but I still think it’s a valid thing to think about.
  7. Seems like it’s probably not worth seeing. I can’t be bothered spending money on another mediocre action movie.

    WiiU

Yeah, it's one of the three games I've bought this year. I've played about an hour of it. I'm hoping to get back into it at some stage.

    WiiU

I spent an hour last night watching trailers on the Nintendo channel. The combination of Super Mario 3D World, Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 and X was enough to convince me that I’ll probably be buying a Wii U at some point. I’m also super excited to play Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Which is great, since my 3DS isn’t getting a whole lot of use at the moment.

    That sounds amazing.
  11. From now on, I'm only gaming on my TI-83 calculator.
  12. Most people like Bay's movies. Personally I don’t really like his movies. I know I don't matter in the bigger picture, and that's okay. Plenty of people still make stuff I like. This will probably be successful because it's a well known franchise getting a big budget movie that will be molded to be enjoyable to a significant number of people and will be well marketed. I’m not sure where this line of discussion is supposed to go.
  13. You're right; it's being directed by Jonathan Liebesman. And his filmography seems pretty dire. I mean I couldn't say for sure; I haven't bothered to watch any of his movies. I don't think that's going to change any time soon.
  14. I predict that it will cost three millions dollars.
  15. The last Michael Bay movie I saw was the first Transformers. I hated every fucking minute of it. I don't think I'll be watching a movie of his any time soon. And fuck, I haven't been to the cinemas in months. Most blockbusters just don't interest me that much. I'm sure Iron Man 3 the musical and Star Trek 2: The Dark Lord of Sauron were fine, but I can't be fucked watching something that's fine. I'll hold out for something great.
  16. Maybe it's an anti-war gun. Maybe it's a tool for fixing planets that are about to blow up, but it malfunctions at a crucial moment. Maybe its like cupid's arrows and the bullets just make people fall in love. Maybe it's a prop that he takes to parties as a conversation peace. Maybe it's a real gun that he takes to peace rallies as an example of what people shouldn't be holding in promotional movie posters. Maybe it's just a really weird back scratcher. Maybe it's a crutch, but the handle is sort of like a gun handle for some reason and it isn't quite long enough. He should really get a new one. Maybe it's the device they use to shoot baby Superman into the atmosphere in this one, but babies on Krypton in this world are, like, super tiny. I can't think of any more right now.

Let's celebrate by communicating at frequencies most people can't hear.

I can kind of hear something at 19, but I'm going to say that 18 is the highest I can genuinely hear. As a 26 year old who wears headphones most of the day, I feel pretty good about this. Hooray for me.
  19. I’ve seen a few bits and pieces of How I Met Your Mother over the years, but I’ve never stuck through and watched a whole episode. I feel like the style of humour is something I should like, but the delivery of it just leaves me cold. Neil Patrick Harris seems like a super nice guy, but I don’t find the character he plays to be funny at all, just obnoxious. Josh Radnor just seems like someone brought a piece of toasted wonder bread to life and gave it a starring role. Oh, and I like The Daily Show, but I don’t think Jon Stewart has ever made a joke that’s made me laugh. There’s a lot of humour on that show that falls flat for me. I don’t feel like I watch enough TV to comment on anything else. The My Little Pony fandom baffles me, but I don’t think I’ll ever spend enough time with it to really judge it. EDIT - HEY I'VE GOT ONE. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I've seen nary a bad thing said about it, even though the fanbase is small but dedicated. But boy oh boy, that awkwardness makes it a super hard show for me to watch. I guess I have similar problems with a bunch of other shows (I can somehow make it through Peep Show okay, probably because it's so awesome,) but there's also something specific in the way the humour is delivered that makes it hard for me to get interested.
  20. Y'know, this looks like it could be a lot of fun. Especially after the last movie, which wasn’t as bad as some made it out to be, but just felt kind of flat and uninspired. I like seeing Michael Shannon in roles like this too. That guy is awesome. But man, why is everything grey? There's an image at the top of this page that has Superman standing outside on a clear day and it's still so god damn grey. It's Superman, give me a bit of colour and brightness guys. I’m pretty sure all those explosions are happening in the trailer because nobody can see what the fuck is happening around them, because everything is either grey or in darkness. I just feel sorry for Superman, since he gets his powers from the sun, and the sun on this earth must suck pretty hard.
