  1. I think Jungle Boy is inevitable at this point - Sammy is being teased as the next opponent and I don't see that being dragged out through to Full Gear given that it's 6-7 weeks away, despite my ideal booking scenario. Damn you, Fuego Del Sol!!
  2. In fairness, I didn't put it in my speech at your own wedding!
  3. Goldeneye is a must - what else qualifies, so that I can pour on further scorn? HA!
  4. Well, that was wild! Also, Kellen was actually there for that, so here's hoping for his full account!
  5. Yes, you can help influence not only the film Pandy & I use as the joint review, but the homework we assign each other to plot the range of their career. As announced in Episode 83, our subject will be Tim Curry. Pandy & I will take an executive decision on what makes the joint review by Friday 27 August so get your ideas in before then! NB) We won't be covering The Shadow.
  6. And gave his gimmick to Alexa Bliss. I like Wyatt's mind for the business, but WWE didn't book it as it needed for proper success (granted, as with most booking input from wrestlers, it involves lengthy winning streaks). I don't want to see him in AEW but I imagine he could do wonders in somewhere like Impact or NWA - ROH probably demand a higher workrate, although in the grand scheme of things, they should be lucky to get anyone.
  7. Bloody hell, I forgot we'd done Sky Captain for Pulp Diction! NB) We're also not doing Sky Captain
  8. Yes, you can help influence not only the film Pandy & I use as the joint review, but the homework we assign each other to plot the range of their career. As announced in Episode 82, our subject will be Angelina Jolie. Pandy & I will take an executive decision on what makes the joint review by Friday 25 June so get your ideas in before then! NB) We won't be covering Girl, Interrupted or Wanted.
  9. Blade Runner. Both films offer fascinating insights into humanity from a sci-fi POV. But Blade Runner has a plot and characters to drive along the story, with a career-defining performance from Rutger Hauer. 2001 is just the wrong side of pretentious, although everything I said above rings true for it - I use it as a gateway on my Flickchart. If a film is very good to me, but has no ambition, subtext or something else that makes it stand out, it cannot surpass 2001.
  10. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind vs The Sound of Music
  11. I'm refusing to get *too* carried away by the news as the smart money is on him signing a part time deal with WWE for huge money as he plays out the autumnal years of his career. The sliver of hope I do hold is that the wrestler in him is itching to have some dream matches outside of WWE before he retires, which doesn't neccessarily means he signs for New Japan or AEW, but has some kind of farewell indie tour.
  12. I'll debrief you next time we talk. And it's Flickchart Forums, you heathen - do not blaspheme against my religion....
  13. Yes, you can help influence not only the film Pandy & I use as the joint review, but the homework we assign each other to plot the range of their career. As announced in Episode 81, our subject will be Laurence Fishburne. Pandy & I will take an executive decision on what makes the joint review by Saturday 1 May so get your ideas in before then! NB) We won't be covering The Matrix, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice or Ant-Man and The Wasp.
  14. Ramis: No. Hudson: Borderline.
  15. I've said before - in the Nolan Flickchart Forum if memory serves, so you were there - that 2001 is pretentious wank. And whilst I stand by that, it is also a hugely layered film and I can see why it's so influential and revered. The lack of dialogue helps & hinders it, but it's the ending that gets my goat over everything else. But I'd give it props for quality, soul, or legacy. Wizard of Oz, well, the podcast will be edited later this week. Don't get me wrong; I don't slate it, but I was less impressed with this most recent viewing.
  16. 2001: A Space Odyssey vs The Wizard of Oz
  17. I was on BITD's call-in episode, and spoke with Derrick separately on Skype one other time. A very erudite, knowledgable man. RIP
  18. Deffo eligible - it'd take us up to 4 cast members certainly.
  19. I think the closest we get is Ghostbusters, as we've had episodes on Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver. Oh, no, I'm wrong - Nolan Bat films. Begins: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Rutger Hauer. TDK: Same, but substitute Hauer for Heath Ledger. Then again, HAA was never going to cover either film due to The Dark Knight Discussions series, so probably still Ghostbusters.
  20. So there's this urban legend about Richard Gere involving a gerbil. Also, 'The Death Camp of Tolerance' is a South Park episode. Mutually exclusive, but when combined, it forms the basis of what we were going for.
  21. Hey, comics readers - riddle me this. I'm currently watching through the first season of the 90s Spider-Man series (THAT season, not the 35 that followed) and I've watched the Scorpion origin story. Now in both the cartoon and, according to wikipedia re: the comics origin, Jameson basically turned Gargan into the Scorpion to take down Spider-Man. So my question: has Jameson EVER been jailed/held responsible for this, other than Gargan targetting him out of vengeance? You'd think that'd be quite disqualifying for him holding his brief as editor of a newspaper.
  22. Yes, you can help influence not only the film Pandy & I use as the joint review, but the homework we assign each other to plot the range of their career. As announced in Episode 80, our subject will be Christopher Plummer. Pandy & I will take an executive decision on what makes the joint review by Saturday 3 April so get your ideas in before then!
  23. All Elite Wrestling: Seeing the thing you love (wrestling) done right (AEW) and not bastardized by a senile evil motherfucker hellbent on world domination (Mr Burns Vince McMahon). It isn't perfect but it gave me something to look forward to on a weekly basis. YouTube: Primarily Cultaholic, covering the above and WWE, so that I was aware of what they were doing without having to pay McMahon anything. But I got into Colbert and Seth Meyers in a big way over the election to inauguration coverage, as well as Last Week Tonight. Not James Corden. Never James Corden. Radio 3: America has country music, which is hilarious. How literally quaint! Despite Brexit trying to gravitate the UK from Europe towards the US, the fact we have a BBC channel for classical musical is a godsend. Much like Mike/Dan/Des talking about comics, the world of classical music is not going to be something I ever truly understand, but I am actually happy enjoying classical music on a surface level without bothering to know about any of the nuance of composition, musicianship and history of recordings throughout the ages. Gaming: I have an N64 I can't play due to some issue with the technical set-up. Until Pandy can fix this, I have invested a lot of time into TEW - a wrestling simulator. Which is fun in its challenge as I shape my own AEW. Cooking: I do not enjoy cooking or cookery programmes. That being said, my health is dependant on what I put into my body so I have been learning more recipes in the past 12 months. Specifically when I visited my 100 year old grandmother for two nights in September, I tried out my new Chicken and Mushroom Stroganoff and Creamy Tuscan Shrimp dishes, neither of which I knew how to do in 2019, and they received well enough that I'm probably still in the will.
