  1. Yes, you can help influence not only the film Pandy & I use as the joint review, but the homework we assign each other to plot the range of their career. As announced in Episode 96, our subject will be Matt Damon.

Pandy & I will take an executive decision on what makes the joint review by 10 November 2023 so get your ideas in before then!

NB) We won't be covering Saving Private Ryan

It'll never happen 'lest Ian roll his eyes out of his head, but comparing Affleck's performances in both Justice Leagues is interesting, because he is actually chummier and lighter-hearted in the Snyder Cut than he is in the Whedon version. It's pretty strange.

Wait, I'm being lambasted for theoretically being unenthused about a hypothetical film experiment that I only read about seconds ago?!

    I like the idea....meanie....

It's for this general reason that I am glad that Keith Lee, who was similarly affected by COVID, is being allowed to wrestle at his own pace rather than risk his health. And to make myself clear, in no way am I blaming WWE for Wyatt's heart attack or suggesting he wasn't looked after post-COVID - the "sloppy shop" criticism during the pandemic is separate & valid - it's just that long COVID is a thing and wrestlers need to be super careful as a consequence.

Bray's death is obviously a tragedy and the tributes on Twitter (like fuck am I calling it X) show that he was a universally loved human being. His passing directly after that of Funk is a pretty hard blow for wrestling in the run up to All In.

  5. Not often that I show up in this thread, but Oppenheimer is in the conversation for Nolan's best film. And I know he has a pretty solid body of work, but having seen all of it (except Tenet, and arguably Interstellar [viewing was impaired]), I am pretty happy to say it's up there.

I don't want this to prejudge anyone's viewing, of course!

Same with Seven, that's not a showcase for her.

She's third-billed in Seven. Whether or not her role in that film is a showcase is a separate argument, but it's at the very least more than a 3 second showing of turning around and exclaiming "Peter!"

Looking at her filmography, I was surprised to discover how little of her work I've seen. Outside of her Marvel role, it's only five other movies: Hook, Seven, Shakespeare in Love, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

And you can't really call her contribution to Hook to be much of anything.
