  1. I loved FFX's story and visuals but hated how linear the maps were. That was a huge departure from earlier installments. It also has the single most awkward moment I've ever experienced in a game.
  2. This should win an award for the Seaman writeup alone. I played through that one myself, and had forgotten (or perhaps blocked memories of) how completely f'ed up it actually was.
  3. This. And most of the last full season of Futurama.
  4. That's tremendous, Dubs. Half the fun of this project has been seeing the weird combinations I never expected like that.
  5. Yeah, that's because the first few people who tried it out were dropping items back on the library and expecting them to go away when they finished the movie, so there were all these weird floating objects on the left and right side. We addressed it by just making them go to the trash if they're dropped on either toolbar. It's still a little clunky, admittedly.
  6. My office just took live our 2008 Holiday greeting card, something that I've been working on almost exclusively for the last month. It gave me an opportunity to dust off my illustration chops and tie it into something fun and interactive, and I think the finished product is a lot of fun. I dropped in a few little surprises for fellow comic book / wrestling fans... Check it out here </shill>
  7. The wife and I are working our way through Super Mario World in short doses before bed. Amazing how many of those secret paths I can still remember, years and years since the last time I used them. I smiled when we got sidetracked into star road / special world as soon as the game would allow it.
  8. I've got DQ8 and the wife played through it, but I never sat down to try it myself. I was always occupied with something else, and now it's been almost a year since I last powered on my PS2. I very rarely use the DS, too, so it's very unlikely I'll buy 9, and I can't imagine why they'd take 10 exclusively to the Wii. Just doesn't make sense to me.
  9. Man, between this, Son of the Mask and Dumb and Dumberer, it seems like no Jim Carrey property can enjoy a quiet retirement. What's next, The Truman Movie... in syndication?
  10. I made it without pausing or failing... of course, I had to hedge my bets by playing bass so I could knock out the expert achievement at the same time.
  11. Great work, guys. Since I recently hacked my old Xbox to run emulators, I've been enjoying a 16-bit renaissance of sorts, and this should give me plenty of ideas for where to begin when I quit fooling around and actually sit down to play through a title or two.
  12. Still working on Fable II here, with dashes and doses of the infuriatingly difficult SSF2THDR
  13. I just finished reviewing this issue, actually. That variant cover is pretty much its only positive.
  14. When I first started to toy around with the internet, dialing up remote BBS systems across the country in the early 90s, I always logged in as "darkshadow." When I sold my soul and signed up for AOL in '94, "darkshadow" was taken, so I went with "drqshadow." My dad named me after Sean Connery, the original Bond, and Q was far and away my favorite character of the series. So that's where the Q came from. I just don't like using my last name.
  15. I'd probably be the one to say it, but I haven't been able to find it on the shelves since the second issue.
  16. I adored this trailer. Super stoked to sit down and take it all in at a theater.

    DJ's 24!

I expected this to be a Jack Bauer fanfiction. Hope it's a good one, man.

    Prop 8

This is called Amendment 2 in Florida, and I also voted no. To those who'd call me a bad Christian for doing so, I'd say: if homosexual relations are against your religion, don't participate. It's not like there's a mob of gays waiting to storm your church and turn everyone into "one of them" with their magical homotouch. Live and freaking let live.

    Vote

Our dragons don't wear lipstick. But yeah, go vote, all you Yankee-Doodle-Dandies - I've been following this election for so long that I just want it to end! Imagine how you'd feel if you were here. Eleven more hours and this whole thing can be over. That's what we said in 2000, too...

    Pets

Pebbles, an ancient collie who hated all men outside of my dad and I, was my first pet. She had some mental issues, but deep down was a pretty good soul. She wouldn't hurt guys who came into our house, but she'd make absolutely sure they knew that they weren't welcome. Once, she jumped on the back of one of my friends as he ran to get away from her and took him to the ground. We had to put her down when she developed seizures and went off the deep end. Followed that up with Bear, a small keeshound who was equal parts stupid and entertaining. Loads of fun, and could melt anybody's heart. Loved to eat poopsicles in the yard during the winter. He made it to see me get my degree, and then passed on less than a year after I moved to Florida. Somewhere in there, I also had a hamster - MC Hamster - who did little more than sleep and wait for the sweet embrace of death. On the rare occasion that he'd free himself from his cage, he'd always predictably head for the space behind the washing machine. Nowadays, Autumn and I harbor two cats - Barry Sagittarius, a fat tabby, and Tiger-Bot Hesh (we call her Heshi) who is your standard, run of the mill bitchy black cat. They loathe each other, but seem to enjoy our company. They help me relax by merely wandering through the room. I could sit and watch them interact with the world for hours at a time.
