  1. I actually liked saikano and was kind of dissappointed that it was only 13 episodes long. I wished that it was longer but I was satisfied with the ending. I am more into Mecha anime(NGE,gundam) or anime full of ass kickery(Hellsing,Trigun,Cowboy Bebop) but my girlfriend made me watch this promising that I would enjoy it. She also made me watch Elfen Lied and I thought I give it a recommendation to people who liked Saikano. Keep in mind that it is DEFINATELY not reccomended for anyone under 18 because it is one of the most violent anime's I have ever seen and also one of the saddest too.

  2. I love this. This might be the funniest news of 2007, and it's not even out of January yet:

It seems that Sony has made a minor price correction for the PS3 in Canada. Now the unit costs $50 dollars more, for a total of $699.99. Both Best Buy and Futureshop have the console listed at the new price, the old list used to be $659.99. What is Sony doing?

What is Sony doing indeed. What the fuck?

It dosen't really matter how much the price is raised because everyone is looking for a wii these days anyway.

Sony is doing a good job of making people avoid buying the console like the plague....so to speak :P

  3. So far the team will be comprised of:

    Doctor Strange

    Echo

    Iron Fist

    Luke Cage

    Ronin

    Spider-Woman

    Wolverine

Expect one more member to be announced tomorrow.

The two biggest surprises, thus far, are:

    01. Echo is no longer Ronin.

    02. Luke Cage will lead the team! :w00t:

Best part about this roster: the Heroes for Hire have gone legit! :w00t: :w00t:

It makes sense that Luke Cage will be the team leader. Bendis has done a great job making him into a major player in the marvel U and now we will all get to see him strut his stuff. :D

  4. I thought that lanky girl who Peter Parker shared some pie with was going to turn out to be the Black Cat. There’s certainly a couple of lines in the dialogue about either her or her father having the eyes and ears of a feline, which would support that. Also, the scene where they’re together in Peter’s apartment has virtually no bearing on the narrative, so it would make sense if it was given meaning in retrospect.

I agree with your statement but having Mary Jane, Gwen Stacey and Black Cat in the movie would be awkward seeing as all three of them would have to be a love interest at some point.

  5. Do the Hellboy TPB's follow any continuity or is each Trade self-contained? I just finished reading Seed of Destruction and I loved it. I don't know if I should read the Trade's in order or buy them as a see them at the comic book store. I don't want to be missing out on significant plot details if I just grab them in no particular order.

Get them in order, its important to. It goes-

    Seed of Destruction

    Wake the Devil

    Chained Coffin

    Right Hand of Doom

    Conquerer Worm

    Strange Places

Although its right about Strange places that you can move onto the BPRD spinoff series.

:D Thanks. By the way, Fray was awesome.....but now I'm sad it's done.

  7. Ra's al Ghul - The brains. The money. The lairs. The immortality. The criminal network. And he can kick Batman's ass.

Deathstroke - Armed to the teeth. Kills anyone in his way. Extremely smart. Took on the Justice League... by himself!

Bullseye - He can kill you with anything. He loves to kill. He never misses his target. He loves to kill. He'll kill your girlfriend just for fun. He loves to kill. He's gone toe-to-toe with both Daredevil and The Punisher. And he loves to kill.

Mystique - She can be anyone. She can get into anywhere. She'll sleep with anyone to complete a mission. She'll then kill that person. She killed Graydon Creed, her own son. She attempted to kill the infant Nightcrawler, her own son. She raised Rogue, her foster daughter, to be a villain. She's taken on the X-Men.

This team right here would conquer worlds!

I would dare to say that you team is too evil. Ra's can also throw a pretty good sexy patry when he wants :P

  8. I should think (at least in my mind) Spider-man unmasking is the biggest moment in comic books not only for this year but probably for a few years to come. Peter's unmasking is something that Marvel has commited to and should be seen as a major event, it would be the equivilent of Bruce Wayne unmasking himself for the world to see.

I wouldn't put it that high. Bruce revealing himself would cripple his ability to function as Batman. Peter is more of a target for the bad guys, but I don't think its caused Peter nearly as much of a problem. He has no personal wealth and no property for authorities to confiscate.

Peter doesn't need a secret ID to function, its different to say, Matt Murdock's problems because unmasking didn't result in the goverment coming after him.

This echos my original sentiments I posted in the CW thread. To me, Parker unmasking himself isn't that big of a deal that some people are making it out to be. In his real life he's a nobody. To me, someone would have to be a personal figurehead that is recognizable to the world, like the above example of Wayne or Stark, for it to be a big deal. That would be parallel to someone like Bill Gates in our reality coming out as a superhero. Parker in parrallel to the random bagger at your grocery store coming out as a superhero. That's why it wasn't a big deal when he was unmasked in the second Spiderman movie.

It wasn't so much the fact that he unmasked himself as it was the fact he told the world he was Peter Parker. Saying this automatically allows people to figure out where he lives. They would also find out he has a wife who is a famous model. Seeing as Peter is a teacher it also puts a target on each and every student he has taught and also all of the people he works with. It wasn't a big deal in the movie when he was unmasked because to those people he was just another face but when you put a name to it, everyone he knows is now a target. The last time somebody found out who Spider-Man was it ended in the death of Gwen Stacey. Superman may not wear a mask but he wouldn't tell the world he is Clark Kent either.

  9. Mr Burns- Leader of the former League of Evil. So evil his teddy bear inspired Hilter to genocide. Maintained an Iron grip on an entire city for over a century. Excellent worforce management skills. Provides his own toady.

Deathstroke- Master tactician, superhuman relflexes. Brilliant mentoring ability.

Juggernaut- Invunerable, great tank, big enough to draw fire and strong enough to fight anyone.

Otto Octavious- Useful in a fight and the teams resident scientific genius, the Dr has a long history in crime and as part of a super-team could finally achieve his goals.

Herman Von Klempt & Kriegaffe- Whats a superteam without an insane Nazi Scientist and his bio-engineered ape bodyguard. Brings extensive scientific and occult knowlage to the team.

Harth Fray- Twin brother to Vampire Slayer Melaka Fray, possessing the slayer visions but at the same time being an extremely powerful Vampire. Occult expertise, a master of mind-games and fear.

Does Smithers come with Mr Burns also? I would think that the two would be a packaged deal.

  10. If you are going to create a team of Superheroes I thought that it would be cool to create a team of Supervillans.

My team would be made of the following evil persons:

Dr Doom: He's my choice for team leader. Super intelligent, strong and has mastery of magical forces. He is the obvious choice for team leader.

Soundwave(Transformers) + Tape posse: Strong, Loyal, no personality. The perfect choice for an evil henchman....henchbot. Combine this with the added bonus of getting Rumble, Ravage, Lazerbeek and Frenzy, he is just too good of a choice to pass up. Doom would also be able to listen to all those old tapes from the 80's on him.

Poison Ivy+Harley Quinn: The two come as package deal and would provide the sex appeal of the group and there tomfoolery would provide the comic relief. They are also evil which helps also.

White Queen: The telepath of the group and a master manipulator. She's not too bad to look at either.

Sabertooth: This team needs some Testoterone and Creed has more than enough to spare. The group berserker and all around jerk.

    reserve member

Stewie Griffin: Doom would serve as the perfect mentor to guide him in his plans to world domination.

They should also be able, between the two of them be able to come up with a plan to kill Lois. You also can't forget with Ivy, Harley and White Queen think of all the sexy parties he could throw. :D

  11. X-23- She is just as vicious as Wolverine in battle but she brings significantly less emotional baggage with her. Since she is young Cap and Storm could serve as mentors to her much like Cap was to Quicksilver . She would also make an excellent sparring partner for Dante.....and the group wouldn't have to worry if he got impaled every now and then  .

I think at this point Wolvie actually has less emotional baggage, especially, since x-23 in her short life has killed her own mother involentarily, slaughtered dozens of people, been raised as a killing machine, undergone surgery without anaesthetic and worked as a teenage prostitute.

Wolverine has faced so much emotion strife over the years that its hard to find something that would really affect him anymore. Hes much more of a known quantity.

I say that she has less emotional baggage because we don't fully know Wolverine's past. So for the time being it is true that X-23 carries more emotional baggage but I'm sure Marvel will have something up there sleeve that makes him that much more of a tragic figure.

  12. <_< I wasn't aware how powerful Quickenings were until not too long ago (and the extra mana bar you got~!), so now I feel stupid not going after them as soon as possible.

I didn't really understand how to use them at first, and didn't realize you could chain them for like, minutes at a time.

To be honest I usually just chain Quickenings to fight bosses without even being touched :D I can't remember the last boss I have actually fought.

  13. My pick for a team:

Captain America- Is the obvious choice for a leader and requires no explanation. :D

Martian Manhunter- Strong, Smart, Loyal and could act as the group psychic.

Colossus- He is the muscle of the group. Although he may nat be as strong as the Thing or the Hulk he is selfless and loyal to a fault. This makes him a far better choice than Hulk or Thing.

Dante (Devil May Cry)-The comic relief of the group. Although somewhat of an odd choice Dante brings with him his unmatched skills with swords and guns which makes him an excellent short range and long range fighter in battle. He also has super agility and can be shot in the head and laugh in your face about it :P His devil powers would serve as the groups ace in the hole when in a bind. You also can't forget about his laidback and carefree attitude which would allow him to get along with everyone in the group.

Storm - The eye candy of the group  (every team has at least one member). She's incredibly powerful and could serve as second in command.

Batman(Batman Beyond)- Although I really wanted to put Bruce on the team, he is much better solo which also why I couldn't put Spider-man or Superman on this team. Terry would make a great addition to this team because he brings the same intensity and determination as Bruce does but he also young and could learn from the more battle tested members of the group.

  15. I'm having problems with the ice esper boss and those fukkin' elementals it makes. Any suggestions?

I actually was able to beat this Esper in one shot by chaining my Quickenings together. If you have level 3 Quickenings for your party I would suggest trying that.

  16. Is Sony planning on doing a redesign for the PSP? I have been looking into buying one for a while but I have been noticing as of late the console price has been droping. This is much like what happend to the DS before the DS lite came out.
