Sorry to bump this, but I just finished reading the Ultimates, and goddamn, I've been missing out. I haven't picked up any of Year Two yet, but it looks like that may have to become a priority. Well, SPOILERS Hulk and that Super Skrull Nazi whooped the holy fuck out of him. END SPOILERS Anyway, I agree, he does need a really, really good ass-kicking, but more or less to take him down from the "Impossible to harm" character they have going. I don't know, he seems quite grounded. Morally conservative? Hell yes. The French thing (best line in comics ever) is echoed by many today, and he came right out of Nazi Germany into modern day-he's bound to be biased against the Germans. Fuck, a lot of our grandparents probably are, too. Also, have the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver done anything at all?

I like the Magnificent Seven team. Does DC do subscriptions? I'd seriously pick up Alex Ross' new one.

Here are all his character designs. I generally love all of Alex Ross' characters except for Batman, and this is nothing new. Still, Superman and Shazam look great, and I'm in love with the new "psycopath" Bizarro Superman.

He wasn't flawless. Green Arrow always pointed out his character flaws in the 70s (his conservatism) and since he had no fear, he was overly sure of himself.

Brad Pitt would be awesome for this.

Hal was the qunitessential superhero. He was also more dynamic than Rayner, and it was apparent in the Lantern/Arrow team ups in the 70s. They were both politically (at least ideologically) polarized, and they normally came to a middle ground on most all scenarios.

I don't think we should suggest fights, but rather classify fighters so you can make the fights. Since wrestling is the predominant thing we're familiar with, we should probably work along those lines. I think we should set out some sort of imperical hierarchy that you can draw your competitors from. I mean, some of these characters could fit in the bottom bracket of one or the top most bracket of the other. I'm just pulling these names off of the top of my head, but we could certainly pool our knowledge and come up with some sort of workable system that you could pull out names as you see fit.

More importantly, Yodes, anything that gets Versus going again is a good thing.

Yeah, the story gets better after the first 8 pages. It's still kinda corny, but what would you expect from a bunch of kids?

Supposedly Marvel's "big thing" this year. Worth a look, I picked up issue #1, and it's quite good.

The F4 one was weak. I was so ecstatic, because I thought anything with Doc Doom becoming more powerful than he already is could only lead to awesomeness. However, it ends up just like every F4 comic ever made, with some screwy origins. The Daredevil one (What if Karen Page lived) is very screwy. The psycology behind what he does doesn't make sense. I plan on picking some more up on thursday, hopefully those are better. By the way, why does everyone hate Liefield?

I just picked up the (I believe) first two What If? comics in the new run (I'm pretty sure they're just making 7 more) and to be honest, was kind of dissapointed. The "What if Karen Page Had Lived" title is really, really dissapointing read, but quite unexpected. The "What if Dr. Doom Became the Thing?" changes so little of the Fantastic Four canon that you could hardly call it a "What if?" title. Then again, anything the F4 touches is doomed to suck, so my hopes were't as high for this one.

I'll be honest with you, the commercials have done a fairly decent job. They've enticed me to really want to see this film.

Crap.

...So, is it worth picking up?
