  1. They ended up here for funny forklift pictures? That seems like more the Oratory's domain. Clearly, we need more Mario Bros. fan fiction.
  2. OH NO! Repent your Tokyopop inspired sins, my child. All will be forgiven in time. But first, the damage must be undone with fansubs.
  3. Initial D. Waiting for 21 and 22 is getting hard.
  4. Vampire Hunter D is based on a novel, not a manga (there may be a manga, but the movie is based on the novel). It actually just got published in English very recently (like in the last year, despite the book's age). Vampire: The Masquerade - It's a pen and paper RPG, similar to Dungeons and Dragons, also has several computer games set in the universe.
  5. From IGN: While I'm sure someone will take his place, I doubt they'll get the kind of media coverage he got. I just wish now that places like 60 Minutes who gave him a national outlet to voice his campaign make mention of this. I doubt they will though, heaven forbid we be fair to video game makers about this.
  6. I thought the length was good, maybe a smidgen long (but most of that is still growing pains as it seems like you're still trying to get the show settled into a form). Honestly though, this episode was a lot different from the other two in terms of content that I'm not sure it would be a very valid comparison. And I don't really know about the PSP games. Honestly I was just speculating about the XBox 360 ones, but it seems to me the most likely explanation. EDIT: After reading Cash's post, I think I should clear up my length statement. It's not that the time itself is too long, it's how much of the time is content; if that makes sense. Like it could be 3 hours for all I care as long as there's always show content.
  7. You asked why they would release games early, and I'm pretty sure that it is a result of promotions (most notably Mountain Dew's) that allow you to "Win before you can buy." So, I think Quake IV and Madden '06 are being released "early" to accomodate those winners (as in, they have something to play if they just win the system). I enjoyed the show, and I think that Jenny adds a nice element to the show, as it gives you somebody to play off of. Jenny is really quiet though (relative to you, Yoda). I'm not sure if it's just her voice, or if she wasn't close enough to her mic or whatever. It's not really a huge thing, just something I noticed.
  8. Well, Servant of the Shard isn't about Drizzt. He's in it, but he's far from the focus of the book. The book itself follows Jarlaxle and Entreri. This book seems to be a follow up on that. In the Drizzt timeline, it should be in Paths of Darkness, so you're right in thinking that, but he's going to spin off a new Jarlaxle/Entreri arc starting withs SotS, which is certainly possible. I still haven't read The Two Swords yet. Got to pick that up.
  9. "Haven't you heard 'Thou shalt not kill?' What kind of church man are you?" - Vash the Stampede
  10. I don't have high hopes given the casting. I mean, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Alice? Sure, she has the Buffy thing going for her, but she's too old (Alice is around 17-18) and not creepy enough.
  11. I preferred the longer one, to be honest. This one kind of felt short to me (of course, that's with only one show to compare it to, so take that with a grain of salt) and you were speaking a lot faster than the previous episode. Maybe it's the fact that you said you taped the other one at 4am or something and were tired then. I'm not sure. And I disagree about Yoda, but I don't really feel like arguing about it now. I know why you feel the way you do though.

    Dead or Alive 4

Tomonobu Itagaki is maybe the cockiest person I've ever heard of. Sometimes it's kind of charming and you can't hate him, other times it's insanely annoying. I'm assuming it's Master Chief. Sounds like fun, even though it is a bit silly.
  14. Well Zephyr, it wouldn't really work. The people have posted all of this stuff on the Internet, and it could easily be verified that their information is correct, through email servers and what not. I don't know if it's Jack answering all of these emails anyway. How does he have the time if he's actually working on his case?
  15. Ok, first things first. You sound absolutely nothing like you look. I did like the amount of content. I think 1 video game, 1 movie/TV show, and 1 comic book is a really good setup to use. Of course, I can't really say what I thought about your opinions, because I haven't played/read/watched anything that was covered on the show. Though I am about to read the Ultimate Fantastic Four. I'm not terribly hung up about spoilers so don't worry about that bothering me.
  16. Jack Thompson has decided to break out "the big guns" in his crusade against the video game industry, but especially in his quarrel with the guys at Penny Arcade. Read Kurtz' blog post today. EDIT: I love their address.
  17. Ugh. If done right, this would be SWEET on a PC. Unfortunately the interface is going to have to be greatly dumbed down for use on the consoles. Why oh why would you even try to develop a menu heavy game for a console? It doesn't make any sense.

    Xbox 360 news

I thought this was interesting: I'm beginning to think there's a giant conspiracy going on here and Microsoft is trying to eliminate gaming consoles and home entertainment centers by taking over those markets then merging them with the PC. Or I'm just over-analyzing, whatever.
  19. For the love of God do not judge the series by the Tokyopop version. They ruined the amazing soundtrack (some of it was like Evanescence style J-Pop, but the background music and race themes are unbelievably awesome), and changed all of the names to capture the Fast and the Furious audience. If you feel bad about getting fan subs, just buy the Tokyopop versions as well and claim you made copies of the episodes so you wouldn't have to risk getting your discs scratched.
  20. Actually...Kart racing was first. People need to lighten up. If the game is fun, why does it matter?
  21. MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE TRIGUN SPOILERS AHEAD. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN (or read) TRIGUN, DO NOT READ THIS. IT WILL RUIN THE SERIES, AND I DON'T USUALLY MIND SPOILERS. You've been warned. I don't think I can make it any clearer. I said stop if you haven't seen or read Trigun. I mean it too. When Vash kills Legato. Quite possibly the most powerful moment ever animated.
  22. Scrubs: Season 1 Arrested Development: Season 1 Will get Season 2 of both before Christmas. Oh...I have the Tenacious D Complete Masterworks DVD which has the entire HBO series, if that counts.

    Game Boy Micro

I think he meant it was the best-selling console the week of its debut. For example: Week of 9/12 GB Micro - 800,000 units sold PS2 - 600,000 units sold DS - 500,000 units sold PSP - 350,000 units sold Or something like that, not that it had a bigger opening week than the PSP, DS, or PS2. EDIT: Obviously, those numbers are BS since actual sales were much lower than that.
  24. It's down for me again.
