  2. Is it anything like this. I mean, it's probably more fantastic and stylized than that one, since that one seems to be marketed towards hunters and would-be counter-terrorists, but you get the idea.
  3. Batman. Nightmare Before Christmas is a close second. Haven't seen Big Fish or Ed Wood. Hated Beetlejuice. Sleepy Hollow, while decent, was only that.
  4. They've released promotional pics of all 4 members of the Fantastic 4. Here's Sue: Here's Mr. Fantastic: Here's Johnny: Here's The Thing: from superherohype.com
  5. The X-Men. Beast is a brilliant scientist who has dedicated much of his work to studying mutation, and what causes it. Himself a mutant, I have trouble believing that Henry McCoy would be willingly working for S.H.I.E.L.D, knowing that much of his research could (and most likely would) be used for projects like Weapon X.
  6. All too easy. Vader's more than equpped to handle anything Doom can throw at him and has been training intensively in physical and mental combat since he was a child. Plus, he's able to channel the force through machinery (which according to the EU books, is a trait that runs in the Skywalker family), so Doom really doesn't have a prayer here.
  7. I guess this belongs here, since there isn't a DS forum yet. From Gamespy: The Sims on a handheld? And I thought it took over some people's lives before.

    Birth

There was a link about this on Fark a couple of days ago. Apparently she does a nude scene with him (she's nude, not him). I'm sure XVE is really excited about this movie.
  9. This really isn't a fair fight at all if Cloud has materia. Knights of the Round = Dead Link. If Cloud only had a couple of basic spells, maybe Cure and Lightning or Bio or something, then it would be close. If Cloud had no spells and just the Buster Sword (like he was a Soul Calibur character or something) then most likely Link. So yeah, according to the terms described, Cloud Strife.
  10. WTF. As a proud Southerner I would like to personally invite the casting agency, directors, producers, and writers to go fuck themselves. Dukes of Hazzard didn't need a fucking movie in the first place, and now it's getting the Starsky and Hutch treatment. Why can't people leave 70's TV shows alone?
  11. KG...? Kyle Gass. Jack Black's Tenacious D band mate. That's the best picture of him I could find.
  12. Hey since they wanted Jack Black to play the Green Lantern, maybe KG is up for the role of Aquaman! Warner Brothers needs to realize that there's a reason Marvel/Fox are kicking their collective ass in the box office. When The Punisher outdraws Catwoman (and it will, when all is said and done), there is a problem.
  13. Movies: While they aren't sequels per se, Star Wars 1-3 need a mention (SPOILER for Episode 3: It will be disappointing. I'll be there opening weekend like a good nerd, but I will be disappointed) EDIT: Okay, I can't read. But I thought up another... Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
  14. Somehow, I think their attempt to appeal to the younger generation will turn out like EGM's, which was something like this (click on "Watch this Movie!!!"). This is seriously awesome, though I want Galaga. EDIT: Here's the entire EGM transcript.

    Superbunnies

So basically, its Striperella with a playboy bunny rather than a stripper? Yeah, this will suck.

    Venom v Carnage

While I haven't read it (I haven't read Spiderman in years, and though this seems like a good time to get back into it, I don't know of any comic shops around here), a detailed review (not completely spoiler free, unfortunately) can be found here.
  17. Based on that description and the picture, I'd say no. In all honesty, this Hunter character seems like just a ripoff of The Punisher to me, just with droids rather than organized crime.
  18. Ok. This game is pretty cool. It seems to rely more on its charm than anything else though. I'll start with with my gripes: 1. The graphics. They're not any good. And I was using the HIGH texture setting. I shudder to think what low looks like. This wouldn't normally be a big gripe for me, but I'll get to that later. 2. When you queue up an addition to your lair, the construction defaults to pause. It was really annoying to spend 20 minutes laying out the massive addition to my secret lair to realize 5 minutes later that nobody was working on it. 3. It's really hard to tell with the radar and on screen who exactly are your enemies and who are your friends. My base had about 8-10 enemy soldiers in it without me realizing it, and there's little or no indication as to where they are or if you've eliminated the threat once they've entered the base. Onto the good: 1. I really love the fact that you don't really have direct control over your workers. You have direct control over your henchman, who control the workers. Many people may not be fans of this style of gameplay, but I think it really adds a lot to this game. 2. The game doesn't take itself seriously at all. Your main goal in the demo mission is to capture A.N.V.I.L Super-Agent Jet Chan and gloat over him. You store your dead bodies in huge meat freezers, and when you run out of room on the racks, your workers pile them on the floor. There are a lot more examples of this in the game. 3. The architectural aspect of this game is very important. How easily your minions can eat, sleep, train, and equip themselves may be the most important aspect of the game. It's a very refreshing break from the norm, and a more difficult task to accomplish than at first glance. If the gameplay was a bit smoother and the learning curve a little lower, then I could forgive the cheesy graphics. It doesn't quite have the charm (or as solid gameplay) the RCT series has though, so I can't give it the leniency I would give to those games in the visuals department. Basically, if you enjoyed games like RollerCoaster Tycoon and Dungeon Keeper, definitely check out the demo. It's probably worth the download as well for RTS fans and people who think they could be a Bond villain. But if you're not a fan of these sorts of games, I doubt this one will change your mind.
  19. The demo for Sierra's Evil Genius is out and available for download here. I have been following this game for quite some time now and can't wait to play the demo. I'll be back with some thoughts later.
  20. Jesus is going to play Superman? Somehow appropriate...
  21. Repeated character deaths and ressurections? Master Roshi constantly viewing porn? The live coverage and commentary on all earth-based fights, even if the combatants attempt to find a deserted island?
  22. Lois Lane. Probably because I'm a sap and would prefer he stick with his first love (of the two).
  23. The Star Wars Trilogy (IV-VI) Snatch Fight Club Macross Plus The Godfather Trilogy Days of Thunder The Chinese Connection That's all that comes off the top of my head at the moment.
  24. This is silly. I'll just assume they're doing the Saiyan Saga (God help them if they do ANYTHING else from Z). A) It won't work time-wise. It'll be 8 hours long, and that's if you cut out the characters of Bulma, Yamcha, Tien and the baby doll. But then again, they have to be there for the Nappa fight (well, not Bulma, but you get the point), or else Nappa's gonna look like a bitch even before Goku gets there. B) If they could shorten it to 3 hours or less (mostly by cutting dialogue and the anime tradition of explaining or screaming out what you're going to do right before you do it), character development is completely lost. DBZ had an entire SERIES of backstory and it still took a whole season to explain what exactly Goku is. C) Where in the blue hell are you going to find an 6-year old boy who looks like he could take on the majority of the planet and win? Now, if they just do a movie, like say "The World's Strongest," I would be happy. It would be fairly easy to adapt, doesn't really require much backstory, and Dr. Wheelo would look really cool as a live action character. Plus, Master Roshi fights in "The World's Strongest," And he could be done in a cool Pai Mei type way. So, in conclusion: TV Series adaptation=stupid idea. Movie adaptation=okay idea, but you still run into the problem of finding a kid that stacked who can do martial arts. *END FANBOY RANT*
  25. I owned, in this order: NES Game Boy SNES Dreamcast 3-1. I worship at an N-shaped altar.
