    DC reboot

According to his twitter, Andy Diggle has quit Action Comics. He cites professional reasons for his exit. Edit: According to Alex Segura, Tony Daniel will now be the writer and artist of Action Comics, at least for a little while. Daniel has previously written Batman, Battle for the Cowl, and Detective Comics for DC, these books have looked pretty, but the stories have been downright awful. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/03/20/dc-confirm-andy-diggles-departure-from-actiuon-comics/
  2. I'm reading a book with some early Catwoman appearances. Jesus, those cat puns are awful. She has a purrfect plan, her hideout is a catacomb, she'll claw your eyes out, etc. It's like there was a mandate of at least five cat puns per page.
  3. Wolverine: Return of the native: I had no clue what was going on half the time, and some of the characters, such as Logan's girlfriend in the first two issues, just sort of disappear, never to be mentioned again. I've never really enjoyed Greg Rucka's writing, and most of the time find to bland and middle of the road, and sadly this was no different. GLC: The Weaponer: This was not bad, the Weaponer who originally designed Sinestro's yellow ring comes back for revenge against Sinestro for ruining his life. Wasn't the best GL story I've ever read, but far from the worst, was enjoyable for what it was, and the ending was a nice twist on the usual revenge plot. My only complaint was the weird brightest day tie-in where Firestorm shows up, and then just says "I need to carry on my story" Ultimate Avengers 2: Crime and Punishment: I've finally found a Mark Millar story I enjoyed, mental, balls to the wall action, without stopping for breath. This featured the Ultimate Ghost Rider, who's story is pretty much a rip off of The Crow, but still was cool seeing him fight the Avengers, and the final line from Frank about what the Ghost Rider told him was just awesome. Trades: 28 Comics: 6
  4. Supergirl: Way of the world: Supergirl promises a 5 year old boy she'll cure his cancer, being naive she thinks she can do it, and when she fails, she has to try and grieve and get over the fact that even with superpowers she can't save everyone. Awesome, it was a simple story, but it worked so well, and quickly told you everything you needed to know about Supergirl. The New Avengers Volume 2: The first three issues were pretty dull, the team just sits around talking about getting salaries and finding a babysitter for Luke Cage's baby, and then they fight a Doom-Bot which is never properly explained why they are fighting it. Then there's back and forth story between the current Avengers, and the 1959 team, which is pretty fun. Howard Chaykin can only draw three faces, and everyone seems off, but his style seemed to fit the 1950's series, so it worked here. An interesting read. Not fantastic, but enjoyable. Also, the only things Spider-Man says are dull puns, which are annoying after about two pages. Spider-Man: Blue: Peter really is a bit of a dick, he has a loving wife, and rather than being with her, he reminisces about how awesome Gwen is, and how she'll likely be the only girl he'll ever love. Other than that, this was enjoyable, the villains seem to be shoehorned in, just to get as many recognisable Spider-Man rogues as possible in each issue, which is a theme for Jeph Loeb books, but Tim Sale sort of makes it work, and his distinctive style really works here. So, not bad. Trades: 25 Comics: 6
  5. I hated the final episode. Just for one reason: Apart from that, I'm going to miss the show.
  6. Spider-Man: New ways to die: I enjoyed it, a few things that annoyed me though, such as Mr Negative being a terrible villain, and the other thing, during this time, when he ran the Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers didn't Norman Osborne denounce the Green Goblin outfit for the Iron Patriot armour? Other than that, it was fun. Teen Titans: Childs play: This started off slow, but then it featured the death of a titan, which sort of just happens, and feels like an editorial mandate more than anything, but the interactions of the team of B-Squad level titans was cool. I do think Beast Boy came across as a really unlikable dick in this. The best issues were the ones focusing on Deathstroke and Ravager, and didn't actually feature the rest of the titans. Volume 11 of Walking Dead made up for the filler volumes 9 and 10. This was full of interesting action and character development, and the villains for the story were interesting and different, in that you could understand their deplorable actions, and how they were likely good people, before the world turned to shit. I'm looking forward to reading volume 12, to see what happens next. Trades: 22 Comics: 6

    Randomness

I would like to add, despite my snide comment, that I hope you're alright Mr Wilson, and at least they are checking on it now, rather than waiting to see if the enzymes caused any irrevocable damage.

Not if you're Scottish/Live in Scotland
  10. I would take people talking about ratings over comments such as "Trending worldwide right now..." any day of the week.
  11. Why does Hulk Hogan feel the need to denegate someone, just to talk about someone else in his promos? Take TNA Lockdown for example, he spent more time in his pep talk with Bully Ray, talking about how Jeff Hardy isn't the catalyst for improvement in TNA's ratings or drawing ability than saying "Good luck with your match for the title." It just seems like he wants to make everyone else look shit, so he, and the people he likes, look better in contrast, which I guess was his plan all along. Also, Joseph Parks is the best character in wrestling for years.
  12. I'd say it has a touch of Gears of War, with the three shots in quick succession and you're dead, idea.
  13. Yeah, it was the best episode in a while. Though, it does feel like they're wrapping things up pretty damn fast to get everything sorted before they're cancelled next episode.
  14. That's the best reason for anything, ever.
  15. Batman: Loves and Madmen: Batman Confidential's take on the origin of The Joker. The art was a bit to scratchy for me, and the story was just alright, at best. A middle of the road story. Superman: Last Son: What a pretty looking dull as hell book. This was the complete opposite of Superman: Brainiac for me, in that it just dragged on forever, and just sort of ends. The art is good, and that's the nicest thing I can say, good art, on a dull book. Trades: 19 Comics: 6
  16. Dredd was one of the only times I'm glad to have went to the cinema, to actually see it, in 3D, as watching it later, it was really made for those big screen effects, and the slow motion stuff works really well in 3D, which is really the only time I can ever say 3D was just annoying crap.
  17. Sorry, I can't embed this, but this is a hidden camera video of a test in Texas to see how people react to a gay couple, with kids being mistreated by a waitress. The people being harassed are actors.

  19. That's fucking awful. He was always my favourite manager.
  20. The thing I really hated about the US version, was how unfunny Drew Carey was in the final skits. I never really "Got" his charm.
  21. I hope it's more like the British version, than the American one.
  22. Bit late to the party, but congratulations on the promotion!
  23. Please be the butler, please be the butler, please be the butler.
  24. Sherlock is the best, but I really liked Coupling.
