  1. So, I'm taking the new girlfriend home with me to meet my parents weekend after next, since if she doesn't meet them this fall break, it likely won't be until NEXT fall break, since she's going abroad to France next spring. I'm freaking out. My parents are nice people and all, but... oy.
  2. I've not, but I'm going to check the archives. Be back momentarily with thoughts. Edit: Nailed it. This thing was a self righteous piece of shit up and down. Good lord, I just hatehateHATE that scene at the end with Bats reaching for the syringe. I highly doubt Batman would allow himself to take it again. This is a dude who only has one "super power" and that's strength of will. Oi.
  3. I just usually start yelling: "I Didn't hear no bell!"
  4. Fuck The Death of Batman, so many things wrong with that piece of crap.
  5. I should feel bad, but I'm more amused about confusing the elderly.
  6. Clothes hangers cost money, superkicks to the stomach are free. It's simple economics.

    James and Mike

No, I'm not trying to be a naysayer... but that's an absolutely awful idea.
  8. Labyrinth was imaginative, fun and had the terrifying reality of David Bowie's huge swinging meatstick. It requires no sequel.
  9. Sidekick, my eye. Great work by Hook in his impressive debut. Mike was his usual standard of greatness and Dubs was his usual delightfully abrasive self.
  10. God, these cartoons are the reason I'm the geek I am. I was 7 when these all (Spidey, Fan Four and Iron Man) came out, and good god, I still love them.
  11. He's Christopher Daniel Barnes. He was Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid, too. And ironically: Iron Man/Tony Stark was voiced by the lead actor of Airplane!.
  12. For comparison's sake, here's the piece of bile that is the first season's opening: Click it if you dare.
  13. The theme even changed, though! Second season had the awesome
  14. ...I have the Fantastic Four series on DVD. The second season, after they switched animation studios, is actually pretty good. The voice actors are STILL the iteration I here when I read an FF book, too. Spidey and X-Men were head and shoulders above it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
  15. I'm with Suave. MIB was great, but MIB2 was an ugly, ugly endeavor, completely undoing the great ending of the first film.
  16. Not just that, but the design is virtually a huge middle finger directed right at Rob Liefeld.
  17. I've read Marvels, and it's not even close. Kingdom Come is just this incredible epic that really touches on what it is to be man. Just everything clicked in this story, the art, the imagery, the writing, all of it. The splash page of Superman descending back into the world, just contemptuous toward those below him, sent chills down my spine. Wow.
  18. Kingdom Come: Wow. Finally got around to reading this and Alex Ross is my god... just... Wow.
  19. I saw it, the only real highlight was Kevin Conroy, as well as some inspired moments of animation.
  20. Allison Danger still looks like a crack whore. ...But since it's your birthday, I'll be classy enough not to point it out.

    I need one of these!

To be fair, it's two of the most overrated characters in the history of ever.

    Yogi Bear

I wasn't questioning your Ferrell hate, I love the guy, but tons of his work is awful, whatever. I was questioning the need to bastardize my childhood... again.

    I need one of these!

With these sweatshirts, as with all things: Venom > Boba Fett.
  24. I saw a play with one of the voice actors in it, yesterday. Lee Ernst is the voice of The Keeper and is just captivating on stage. I've seen him in three or four things at the Milwaukee Rep and loved him every time. Has nothing to do with video games, just felt like sharing.
