  1. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes everyone! How cool was it to log into the Earth-2 forums to see all this?! Y'all rock, brothers and sisters . . . Y'all rock . . . (And, yeah, I'm a bit partial to Episode 42 of Dread Media myself. Oh, and Episode 25 of Mail Order Zombie was a good one, too . . . !)

    Episode 59

With the exception of most of the interviews, I was at the festival with Brother Des pretty much the entire time, and even though I knew what was recorded, I still enjoyed the hell out of this episode!
  3. Brother D

    Episode 51

This was a BLAST! Thanks for having me on, and thanks for giving me a chance to talk about something non-zombie (sort of!). I hope your regular listeners dug it . . . !

    Episode 50

Hey Des . . . A couple of things . . . 1) You rock. 2) Dread Media rocks. 3) You rock. Okay, that's three things. 50 episodes is one helluvanaccomplishment, my friend. NICELY DONE. And I absolutely LOVED what you did with this 50th episode. A Personal Horror Top 50? I'm so stealing this idea to run something similar on my blog at some point . . . Some very obvious selections, and some that weren't quite so obvious. Even 50 episodes into your show, we still got to learn a little bit more about our favorite Des. Nice work . . .

    Episode 46

Another great episode, brother! And congrats on the further association with Horror-Mall! Whoop!

    Episode 44

Definitely a good episode, brother. Even though I produce a zombie movie podcast, I'm not just a zombie guy. I love nearly all horror films, and I've tried to learn as much as I can about as many different eras, types, genres, kinds, etc. horror flicks. That said, there are some holes in my knowledge and experience, like the fact that I've never seen any of the Phantasm films, even though I own the 4-disc Regio 2 set (the one that comes packaged in a ball). Another hole? I've never seen a Paul Naschy film. Sure, I know a little bit about who he is and know some of what he's done, but I've never seen any of his films. Thanks for helping me fill in the gaps a little bit, and for encouraging me to add even MORE titles to my Netflix queue!

But can you imagine it Andy? Triple Combo Cast! Brother DEStroy the Brain!!! Muhahahahaha! Brother DEStroy the Brain!!!? That is one of the most incredibly-awesome things I've EVER HEARD! As for my choice of Dawn of the Dead as my least favorite remake - I hope I made it pretty clear that my dislike of that movie has more to do with what the film did to the zombie subgenre more than anything else. When I covered Zompire, The Undead Film Festival in Episode 16 of Mail Order Zombie I talked about my thoughts on the actual film a bit, adn the truth is, as a roller-coaster-style movie, it's not bad, especially if you watch it with a group of people, but I still maintain that it's fairly soulless and really doesn't leave you with much more than a slight sugar crash afterward whereas the original sticks with you . . . I had a blast doing this show with Des. I, too, was a little worried since this was the first time we ever spoke in person, and I didn't have a lot of experience with Skype (ask Andy at Destroy the Brain! about that), but in the end, I think it went really well . . . We've been talking about my dropping by Dread Media again, and I'm looking forward to that!
