  1. 7) Yuki Nagato (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
  2. "I Believe I Can Fly" mixed in with the beginning of Serial Experiments Lain had me laughing pretty hard.
  3. One of the characters in RahXephon, Kim, has a music box she received from her parents. I'll add in more if I can think of them.
  4. After seeing it name-dropped (sort of) in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I started reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons. It's fantastic and has pulled me into its world as well as any book I've read in a long time. Once I'm finished with that, I'll be reading Lolita for The Modern Reader's Paradigm over on the Oratory. I've also got Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House waiting to be read.
  5. Haha, ever since I wrote that post I have succumbed to the draw of fansubs and kept up with the series week by week. Anyway, Death Note ended yesterday, and I thought the final episode was great. I liked the anime's ending more than the manga's ending, and I'm someone who really enjoyed how the manga concluded (aside from the epilogue stuff which was sort of unnecessary). It did a great job of Other people on here had to have kept up with the anime, right? What have you guys thought about it? If you've read the manga, how do you think the two compare?

    Nerd Moments

For me, the most recent nerd moment is that I got mocked for hearing similarities between parts of The Cure's "Fascination Street" and the beginning of the underground theme from Super Mario Bros.
  7. Chrono Cross is the best for me. I love the flavor of it, and so much of the music feels incredibly fresh compared to most video game soundtracks.
  8. Downloaded Nothing yet. Will download Kid Icarus Super Mario RPG Super Metroid Gunstar Heroes Kirby Super Star Hope they add Earthbound Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Super Mario Bros. 3 Tetris Attack
  9. Ugh. This is a tough, tough choice. RE4 pulled the MASSIVE miracle of actually getting me to enjoy a Resident Evil game, and I actually had more fun playing that the first time through than I did with Smash Bros. But Smash Bros. has SO much replay value and battles with friends are some of the best times I've had on the GameCube. I'll have to stick with the good old coin flip. *flips* Looks like I'm going with Smash Bros.
  10. I've never completed Chrono Trigger, so I've been playing the Final Fantasy Chronicles version for a while now. The load times are awful but the game is worth it.
  11. I wish I could vote in this poll. Beyond Good & Evil is great.
  12. Metroid Prime easily.
  13. Chalk up another vote for Metroid. THAT'S how you do a remake.
  14. I like Skies of Arcadia the most, but since, as D.W. mentioned, it's essentially a Dreamcast game, I can't really vote for it. I'll go with Wind Waker.
  15. Tough decision, but I'll go with Advance Wars.
  16. Resident Evil 4, definitely.
  17. Just want to say that this is a great idea and that I'll have a lot of fun voting, even if most of my activity will be restricted to the Nintendo systems.
  18. I went with Superstar Saga. The story never failed to make me laugh and I thought the battle system was pretty fun.
  19. I went with Smash Bros. Melee. It's the one I have the most fun with; I still play it semi-regularly even five years after it first came out. There aren't many other games I can say that about.
