  1. As long as we continue the current policy of letting Johns and Morrison pretty much run the show in the DCU, this move works for me.
  2. Sooooo....if I were to PM you, begging for the spoiler...could I get it?
  3. So, where is the spoilery actor in the pics that was mentioned in the e-mail? Am I just blind?
  4. And I just added the E-Space Trilogy set, along with the New Beginnings set (Featuring The Keeper of Traken, Logopolis, and Castrovalva). I need help. Please, somebody help...
  5. Annnndddd....the collection has expanded. It now stands as... The Begining boxed set Lost in Time boxed set The Three Doctors The Ark in Space The Sontaran Experiment Genesis of the Daleks Destiny of the Daleks City of Death Arc of Infinity The Five Doctors 25th Anniversary Edition Mark of the Rani Trail of a Time Lord boxed set Ghost Light Survival Series One boxed set Series 2 boxed set Series 3 boxed set Series 4 boxed set Infinite Quest These DVDs have become my new crack habit...
  6. Ehh......you really can't make it sound like Alan Moore was the only person to make Joker a sociopathic killer. You have to give credit to other writers such as Jim Starlin, Marv Wolfman and Doug Moench who wrote really good Joker stories at the time of A Death in the Family/A Lonley Place of Dying era. Moore was the first to write a Joker story that I actually found as intensely disturbing as the character can be.
  7. Oh, Joker has some funny moments in the movie, but it's usually stuff that it feels very wrong to laugh at. And I'm also looking forward to a discussion of the edits (neutering) done to the initial release of the film.
  8. So, I'm actually giddy over WFP finally getting to Return of the Joker. Hearing the guys commenting on what is, in my opinion at least, one of the BEST Joker stories (Up the with The Killing Joke/Death in the Family and Dark Knight). No more of the darkly humorous Joker of B:TAS and Gotham Knights. The Joker we see in Return of the Joker is the sick twisted sociopathic fuck that Alan Moore gave us....and I couldn't be happier.
  9. It would be a great help if when giving the rundown of these older episodes, you give give a quick mention of if it's available on DVD in the US or....."tips" on where to find it. Doctors 1-3 and Doctors 6 and 7's stories on DVD are scarce in Region 1. (Apparently a stories chances of making it to Region 1 DVD increase insanely if it had the Daleks or Tom Baker. No McCoy love, sadly. And for some reason it looks like we'll never have a Region 1 DVD release of the TV movie.) But, yeah. Just a quick mention of weather or not a story is available on DVD would be a huge help for those of us who are using things like Netflix to follow along with you guys.
  10. So.....we're TRYING to get the guys to kill themselves on air?
  11. I just wish they would give us a Gotham Girls standalone disc so I could watch it without having to make physical contact with that....THING....called Birds of Prey.
  12. And god knows, there were plenty of smoky bars and clubs, you just didn't actually see anyone put the cigar or cigarette to their lips and puff.
  13. I'd love to listen to an episode by episode of a long form sci-fi/fantasy series. Something like Buffy/Angel, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, or the utterly fucking amazing Disney series, Gargoyles.
  14. Actually, that makes sense. If Ian is 40 in 1964 (as William Russell was), then he would have been of age to serve in the latter half of WWII. Okay, I can buy that. Or earlier in the war. WWI and WWII had a LOT of 14-17 year olds lying about their age and joining up, at least here in the US, not sure if the UK saw the same phenomenon. Certainly in WWI we did; our three remaining veterans for that war were all either underaged when they joined, or joined right towards the tend of the war. I'm not as knowledgable on WWII and how we mobilised for that, but it's certainly possible. Like I said, I'm not quite as knowledgeable about the UK's enlistment stats, but the US had that type of thing as late as Korea.

  16. I can buy Ian being able to kick quite a bit of ass. Considering his age and home time, he's probably a WWII vet. The man got to kick Nazi ass, so some Aztec punk isn't going to slow him down.
  17. The Beginning boxed set Lost in Time boxed set City of Death The Infinite Arc The Five Doctors Series 1-4 boxed set (New Series) The Infinite Quest (Animated 10th Doctor) And does anyone know how I'd go about laying hands on a good quality copy of the 1996 TV movie that'll play on a Region 1 DVD player?
  18. I'm going to go with The Master for the Most Evil. My only exposure to him outside of "The Five Doctors" is the new series, where John Simm is channeling the Joker to great effect. I put him in the same catergory as Joker. He's not a psychopath. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing, he knows it's wrong. He just dosen't give a damn. He likes killing people and that's it. Creepy? The Gas Mask Zombies from The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. Damn things just make my skin crawl.
