  1. You never read the story of Jesus going all apeshit because they were selling animals and other goods in a temple? The Son of God did have a temper.
  2. True they did do a lot of crossovers early on, but for the most part the crossovers were limited to about a year, and then it reverted back into every cartoon as a "pocket universe" or something to that affect. Just thought of something, granted it would be way too much to do EVERY SINGLE Raw/Smackdown/Nitro/what have you, even for a specific year or time frame (i.e. a given Wrestlemania to Wrestlemanina that was one hell of a ride, like the time in between Austin's title win against HBK through his match against The Rock a year later) but how about a PPV type of series? Either do every single year of a specific PPV (and in cases like The Royal Rumble, include the first one which was a cable event) or mega event (like NWA/WCW's Clash of The Champions events). Or pick a promotion, and just do every single PPV/mega event in chronological order. (Yes I know the WWE is still very much active and you'd like to see a finish line) or maybe a specific era or year of a promotion's history, or all the major wrestling events (across the different promotions) in a given time frame, or year (I.e. the Monday Night Wars era PPV history) Eh, just another thought I had.
  3. They think *you're* quite mad? I'm a white Englishman doing a self-conscious parody rap about a podcast!! Glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the forums! I think I-Whizzle should make a recording for each of the Earth-2.net podcasts!
  4. I can see that. There also isn't a whole lot brought to the show, or the characters, in way of a backstory and history. You can't say "Well, such and such character was written this way back in such and such issue of such and such book" the way you can with the previous shows, even sort of with Batman Beyond. And in Beyond you did have older characters and whatnot brought in and referenced.
  5. Excellent work Ian! Now, get to work doing all 53 WFP Trailers and all 312 E-2.NTS trailers! =
  6. I'm sure you can find someone here in the Earth-2 forums that can do a Trek podcast.
  7. Just thought of a good one the other day. Take the Berman-Braga era Star Trek Universe from TNG's "Encounter At Fairpoint", through the entire TNG series, Generations, Deep Space Nine, throw in First Contact and Insurrection at the appropriate slots, then Voyager and end the, ehem "Trek Through The '80s and '90s" with Nemesis. And THAT would be the podcast. Yeah I know all three shows went for the better parts of 7 seasons each, and an hour each, but it would be fun!
  8. Granted pre-production isn't even CLOSE to starting, but since FYEO has an end date around early next summer if an episode each if given to Never Say Never Again, and both versions of Casino Royale (the TV one, and the David Niven spoof) So, will there be a special episode whenever Bond 23 comes out?
  9. That's 312 episodes at this tim you know! Good luck
  10. Yeech! The way you described both series, here is what I think happened in some WB board room: "Say you know, these Internet webisodes...or whatever these darn things are called, are spreading like wild fire. Why aren't we doing that?" "Well, we could do something, I don't know?" "Hey, I've got an idea, get Timm and Dini on the line. Lets have those two do some cartoons for the website!" "Uh... Batman Beyond cartoons? New Batman Animated cartoons?" "Naah, hey whats that character that was real popular...Something Bo...Real pisser that guy." "Uh...Lobo?" "Yeah him, he'd be BRILLIANT!" "Ummm, I'm not sure if that character can carry a storyl..." "Okay, so that is what the boys will watch, we needed something for the girls...Hmmmm...Did they ever use Wonder Woman for any of their shows?" "Well, not yet sir, but...uh..." "WAIT I GOT IT! Harley Quinn is quite a popular character, lets use her!" "Well, I guess, but who would want to watch a continuing series based on a villian?" "She's a villian? Hmmmm...Isn't there a woman that works with Batman? Ummm..." "Batgirl?" "BATGIRL! Thats it! In fact, name that cartoon "Gotham Girls!" Brillant! And since this is when content like that was very much at its infancy, no one quite got what they could do on these shows. Ah well I guess.
  11. Just thought I'd get a thread like this started. FWIW, a great Bond parody of sorts is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Bashir, Julian Bashir! From two seperate episodes, the first "Our Man Bashir" is a full on classic 60s spy movies romp, and another, I forget which one off hand, has Dr. Bashir, Dax and O'Brien in a B-story type of thing (not really a B-plot, probably more filler) having another spy adventure in the holodeck.
  12. My GOD! I just figured it out! JAMES BOND WAS THE ONE WHO WAS SO VAIN! Okay, okay, "You're So Vain" predates "Nobody Does It Better," and NDIB wasn't written by the artist who sang the song, but it does make sense considering the mood of the two songs, and the whole characterization of James Bond.
  13. Quick note on the Thunderball theme song. American music icon Johnny Cash actually threw his hat in the ring for the song, and recorded a version of it (none of the typical country sound that Cash is known for, including the "boom-chicka-boom" guitar riff, its a straight '60s Bond-esque song). I don't know if Cash ever had it released on any of his records, but there is a Johnny Cash podcast called Johnny Cash Radio, and they played it a while back. I forget which episode number it was off hand.
  14. Since you guys completely no-sold my Family Guy question, I shall post it here! Now, my question is about the Batman: The Musical in Out of The Past. Seems to me that it was done in a Seth MacFarlane kind of style, and it seems like the kind of thing you would see on The Family Guy. So I'm wondering if that was some kind of "homage" to that show?
  15. Any chance you guys can do a follow up on the 2000s?
  16. HA! Hey it was a decent podcast. No head banging, despite some gnashing of teeth Mike does about Superman Returns in other podcasts he didn't go crazy ranting the way he does on the Burton Batman reviews.
  17. Views From The Longbox Good "history of the genre" talk, with some current stuff mixed in. Seems like the host has been going through a "mid-life crisis" in terms of his comic book fandom though. Geek Out Loud Podcast Great fun show that takes a pleasurable look at comic books, movies, TV and such. Basically saying that this should be fun, and not all whiny and complaining about what you don't like all the time. Reel Podcast A new startup film news and reviews podcast.
  18. Excuse me for dragging this from the wayback machine, but I'm listening to it this morning, and I don't know if anyone corrected you Mike, but apparantly DC had plans to marry Clark & Lois back in the early 1990s. And it was because of the start of production of Lois & Clark, remember they were both single when that show started, that they had to scrap the whole marriage plans. So they went with the Death Of Superman/Return of Superman story arc instead. I'm sure there are places on the net that would explain this, but I heard about this on a Superman historian's podcast (Michael Bailey's Views From The Longbox) in 2007 on the anniversary of Superman # 75. Eventually of course the two continuities would match up, but DC did plan to do it before the show was in production.
  19. Just getting around to listening to this episode, and caught Mike's comment about Bruce's "Sure you are" to one of the Jokerz saying that they were the "Jokerz." Well, have any of you ever read Kingdom Come? At the end of the story, Supes, Bats and Wonder Woman, in their secret IDs, are having lunch in a "heroes themed" restaurant. The waitress comes up in full classic Dick Grayson comics Robin costume and reads off script that she is "Robin," to which Bruce (probably around the age Bruce is supposed to be Batman Beyond) says "Of course you are." Eh, just thought I throw that in since I was just reminded of it listening to the line in the podcast.
  20. Every...? SIMS! I want that Catwoman review on my desk by friday! Stop crying! Do we really, really want to even consider it a "comic book movie?" Sounds like Warners picked up the idea as some crazy action flick with a chick as the star, thinking that it would attract fans of Buffy, Xena, Alias and other like characters, then realized the similarities in "MO" and style with a certain DC property and slapped on the name and the DC tag, complete with the prerequisite movie tie-in merchandise, in order to not to get sued by themselves.
  21. While yeah the bulk of it makes BTAS' The Terrible Trio look like The Dark Knight, but it really is the first "Universe" so to speak for comic cartoons (Oh, Filmation had DC and Marvel before, but I don't think there were any crossovers with any of the segments). It still is quite beloved for those who grew up on 70s and 80s cartoons, so as much as Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly are your Bats and Supes, this is their version of Bats and Supes. And the stories did get somewhat better towards the end of the the long run of the series. Yes I am talking about Hanna-Barbera's THE SUPERFRIENDS! Ehhh, it might be worth it, for the MST3K aspect for most of it. The episodes wouldn't be that long to produce! Though if people complain now about how long the emails/personal discussion are now, imagine how they will when those segments lasts longer than ALL the episode commentary and scores segments combined! Also, and granted this kicked in towards the end, it pretty much led to the classic Super Powers line of action figures, that pretty much brought DC into the Action Figure universe (no offense to Mego, Classic GI Joe, and Action Jackson fans, but in terms of what action figures are today was built on Star Wars, Secret Wars, GI Joe vs. Cobra, Super Powers, etc). So, despite the sheer crap, it kind of holds up as a historical piece of comic book, and animated history.
  22. Would Superman: Braniac Attacks and The Batman vs. Dracula count towards that DC Universe Movies though? As I think those are the only movies that are neither part of the DCAU line of movies or part of the DC Universe line (Superman: Doomsday, Batman: Gotham Knight and Justice League: New Frontier)
  23. FWIW, I don't know if just because WFonline has a site about it, if it means it fits into continutiy. Seems like World's Finest Online is dedicated to the DC Animation projects since the debut of Batman: The Animated Series as they have pages for: Series Batman (BTAS) Batman (TNBA) Superman Batman Beyond The Zeta Project Static Shock Justice League Justice League Unlimited Teen Titans The Batman Gotham Girls Lobo Legion of Superheroes Batman: The Brave and the Bold as well as the movies DC has put out on DVD in recent years: DC Universe Superman: Doomsday Justice League: New Frontier Batman: Gotham Knight Wonder Woman I'm surprised Krypto doesn't have a page! Okay, so after the DCAU is finally wrapped up, what is next? Trying to get through all the SuperFriends shows through the years?
