So it went from looking like a guy in a rubber rock suit to an actual rock monster man. And this is a bad thing?

It's basically a reincarnation of Veronica Mars with a comic book/horror twist. I'm really liking it a lot.

Imagining the intensity of the Cap/Winter Soldier brawls on an Avengers scale is kinda dizzying in an awesome way.

I seriously just showed Back to the Future to a friend for the first time yesterday. He loved it. His eyes were wide during the entire clock tower sequence, and by the time the end credits rolled he was humming along to the theme.

I think it's kinda crappy.

I was never really a big Goonies fan either. I mean, I think if I'd been the same age as the kids when I first saw it (I was a few years older), I'd have loved it because it really is the ultimate "ordinary kids go on a big adventure" story. But if you view it outside of that wish fulfillment zone, I don't know it if works as well. But that's not to say that I didn't still enjoy it, albeit to a mild degree.

So many thoughts.

For a good long while, DC and Marvel have been treating variant covers like an excuse to sell tangentially-related promo art. It doesn't matter if the cover matches the book; it's basically just an excuse to make money directly off a marketing tool (and theoretically inflate comic sales at the same time). ...Which is a stupid thing that they need to stop.

Alexandre Desplat will be scoring Rogue One. His best-known genre score is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, parts 1 and 2. He's pretty incredible, able to do both subtle and over-the-top themes really well. Hell, he even made one of the Twilight movie scores better than it had any right to be. EDIT: Oh, and he's an Oscar winner. That was probably more important to mention than Twilight.

Never said it did, I just liked the lyric. Don't get your athiest panties in a twist.

Generally my policy with The Flash is that I take my time getting dinner and whatnot so that at 7:15 or so I can start watching the episode on DVR and fast-forward through commercial breaks.

As I Lay Dying is a Christian band? Really? Huh. I always got the opposite impression. Musta been that sociopathic murdery vibe I was picking up.

Well, they stopped reading the book, basically.

Walt Disney Animation Studios has only made one direct sequel, ever (The Rescuers Down Under). There've been smaller-scale cheap sequels, but those were all done by lesser studios. Frozen is kinda interesting in that while I don't think we need a sequel at all, there's also no reason it can't have one. It's a little bit like Toy Story in that way.

That's definitely true, although Luke's character arc was pointed towards him being a Jedi, with the soldier/pilot thing being secondary. If the movie is titled Rogue One, I'd expect it to largely focus on that element. Buuuut then again maybe just maybe it's a bit too soon to speculate or judge.

Is Felicity Jones supposed to be the lead character in Rogue One? As in Rogue One/Rogue Leader of Rogue Squadron? I'm pretty sure there's no universe in which I can see Felicity Jones being a fighter pilot. But whatever. It'll be cool to see VIII less than two years after VII.

Watching that right now. It's amazing.
