The Spy Who Dumped Me: Cute spy comedy. Kate McKinnon really makes the film. The Spy Who Loved Me: It's an okay Bond film. I can see why Jaws made it out of the film pretty well. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword: It's an okay film. It's not terrible but far from great. Goldeneye: It's one of my favorite Bond films. It stands up to the test of time. The Row: A Kind of meandering sorority slasher. There's an entire plotline about a magical Greek Only App that deletes itself that the film spends an entire plot about that goes nowhere when you wish the entire film would also. Urban Legends: Final Cut: It's a sequel to a film that no one cared about that can't even keep it's own premise straight. Seriously, remember the urban legends about a serial killer shooting a guy in the chest? Q: The Winged Serpent: On one hand, you have a monster with some terrible special effects. On the other, it's so cheezy that you can't help but love it! Spooky Buddies: Okay, so it's not high art and I shouldn't expect that much out of it but Jesus Christ this was wretched! Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-a-rama: This might be my new favorite bad movie! Justice for Babs! A Nightmare on Elm Street: A classic of the genre, definitely a favorite. Anyone who says Freddy doesn't quip until later films is dead wrong, he just isn't as over the top yet. My Bloody Valentine: It's interesting watching a slasher where the killer isn't going after teenagers or college kids. The setting is really what makes this one interesting. It: After watching Stranger Things earlier this year, yeah, the Nostalgia Bait is strong with this one. Still, the child actors are all great and I hope they're still working in a few years. I wouldn't mind seeing them grow into new and interesting ways. Films: 137 Documentary: 1 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 4 Repeats: 5

Best I can say? Billy was a sociopath. Everything was an excuse to kill people really. The entire plan was to be the last one standing, including Stu. Mrs. Loomis? She wanted Sid to suffer so why not grab someone to do most of your busywork who has just wants to kill people. She likely is mentally ill like her son and like she says, "You took my son away." Sidney points out the contradictions to her but her response is continuing to try to kill Sid. She wants suffering. If just revenge had been the motive, yes, she could have killed Sid at nearly anytime by shooting her in the head. Horror movie villains rarely come to a logical conclusion on what they want. People spend years trying to understand why serial killers do what they do. Slasher films are at their core about people with extreme personalities killing people for nebulous reasons. Are the motives shit? Yeah but so were Dahmer's, Gacy's, or Bundy's. We are people who have rational minds and trying to apply our own rationality to psychopaths and sociopaths is folly at best. Most horror films where revenge is the goal, the killer would likely have kept going on long after their target is dead because it's obvious they like to kill people; revenge is just an excuse.

The Monster Squad: It's basically The Goonies meet Dracula. It's an okay movie but I have no nostalgic connection to it so ehh? The Evil Dead: There's traces of a classic there but no one, even Ash, ever feels like more than a body. I did forget how quick the film gets to the plot though. Evil Dead 2: I feel like everything people remember about the original is projected from this one. This is the one that's a classic, where Ash first gets a personality. The other characters get some good moments also and the demons get some great make-up and effects. Blade: Trinity: It's not quite as wonderful as number 2 but it's still far from a terrible film. You can see Ryan Reynolds's Deadpool getting birthed here. Also, it has Parker Posey so I can't all-out hate it. *stares at Scream 3* Films: 134 Documentary: 1 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 4 Repeats: 5

Black Christmas: The original. You can definitely see the framework of what would become the 80s slasher film. It's cool. Better Watch Out: For some reason, I was on a Christmas Horror Film kick this morning. I'm not sure how I felt on this one. There is definitely some good performances and stuff going on for it but, without going too far into spoilers, the villain quickly became infuriating and I guess that helped make me root for them to die painfully but when you spend the last five minutes of the movie aggravated with the last 85 minutes, why should I care? Blade II: Maybe it's Del Toro. Maybe it's the change in location. Who knows? I think it might be better than the original. Films: 130 Documentary: 1 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 4 Repeats: 5

It's definitely an awesome poster. 4 is alternatively the last good film in the series or the first of the bad films in the series depending on who you ask. Most of both groups ignore 2 but ehh.

Green Room: Intense with a phenomenal cast. I absolutely loved it! Life After Beth: It's an Aubrey Plaza zombie movie. It's a sometimes hilarious look at the beginnings of a Zombie Apocalypse. Films: 127 Documentary: 1 MST3K/Rifftrax Assisted: 4 Repeats: 5

The CW is developing a Superman and Lois series starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch.

Blade: An excellent film that doesn't get the credit it deserves for jump-starting the current comic book movie craze. Hellraiser: Bloodline: At first, my thoughts were, "Oh, look, it's the "...In Space" edition. Instead, we have an interesting look at the history of the Puzzle Box across generations. Any of the three time periods would have made an okay movie. Combined? It just really works. Too bad that Pinhead is officially a card-carrying villain at this point and the Angelique character really only serves to get the plot started and then just kind disappears into being just another demon after a bit. Cabin in the Woods: I have a soft spot in my heart for the more meta-horror films. It's meta but works so well in the context of the film itself. Halloween: The original. It's a classic for a reason. It's such a simple film when you get down to brass tacks but that is a huge part of why it works so well! Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Meyers: The girl who plays Michael's Niece is what makes the film work so well. I'm glad she's full on embraced working in horror in the years since. Urban Legend: It's one of those Scream clones that came out shortly after Scream became so big. I wanna dislike it but then you have Rebecca Gayheart doing such a great job and then Loretta Devine as the campus security guard who worships Pam Grier. Also Robert Englund out of make-up playing a professor. The Stuff: It's weird. On one hand, you have what is very much an anti-consumerism commentary. On the other, you have this insane movie about a desert that turns people into zombies and then there's this annoying kid that hangs around the entire movie just to get in peril. Candyman: Wow. Tony Todd is just such a presence that it's easy to forget how little he actually shows up in the film compared to Virginia Madsen's character. Then you have that Phillip Glass score which holy crap! Outside of just being an unsettling film, what else is there to say? Kinda interested what the Jordan Peele produced sequel does next year. My idea is to do a different gag each Scream review. Back in the Scream review when the gag was "Awards they were nominated/won," I made sure David Arquette's was Former WCW Champion.

Child's Play: I've never actually seen Child's Play. You can see the seeds of what would make Chuckie a long-lasting character but it just never clicked for me. Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth: Oh good, I was wondering when this series would fall into "Slasher with a little bit of S&M." Kill Your Friends: Maybe it's because it got billed as horror but the film is pretty bad and a good soundtrack never makes up for it. Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th: Amazingly, despite coming out the same year as Scary Movie and primarily making fun of the same two movies, they don't retread any jokes. I laughed about three times. That's the most I can compliment it for. Uncanny Annie: This is the second time I've watched on of Hulu and Blumhouse's Into The Dark films and the second time I've been pretty disappointed. They took what could have been a pretty interesting concept (Horror Jumanji) and wasted it. There is some elements that work but they're far and few between. Nightmare 2 is an odd bag. Some great pieces have been written about it and a few other of the more Queer-Coded horror films of the 80s. A double feature of Nightmare 2 and The Lost Boys would be wonderful someday. The Slumber Party Massacre: It's an 80s slasher. I knew it's reputation and history and it lived up to the hype. Also, surprisingly low on the gore. The girl cutting the killer's power drill off with a machete is totally some phallic imagery and bravo for it! All The Boys Love Mandy Lane: I'd heard about it but never saw it and knew next to nothing. It's low on scares but interesting enough. It took a bit for me to get into the film but I enjoyed it. Oh, and the ending. I'm taken back to another film with a similar twist and how it chicken shitted out at the last second. Bravo for sticking the landing! Sorority Babes in the Slime Ball Bowl-o-rama: Look, with a title like that, you could never expect something high concept. That said, it is heavily camp and I kinda love it. The Brotherhood 4: The Complex: If I was going to watch a DeCoteou film that has boobs, I might as well watch one of his that's borderline softcore gay porn. That's what I got. It's pretty bad. The Conjuring: I hadn't seen it since a showing at the drive-in a few years back. It holds up extremely well. Murder Party: It was okay, nothing special. You Might Be The Killer: I was legitimately surprised by how much I liked this one. A parody of horror films in general, it plays with a lot of the tropes while never feeling like it's winking it's eye at us. I need to rewatch The Final Girls to figure out which one I enjoy more. Hobgoblins: One of my MST3K episodes because the movie is so meh and dumb and the riffs just keep working. Hellbound: Hellraiser 2: Simultaneously better and worse than the original. Honestly, it works as a counter to the original, going full in on the cosmic horror elements but it also fails because it leans so heavily into the Cenobite stuff. There are also a few too many flashbacks to the first film. It's a weird paradox. I would be interested in visiting the parallel universe where Julia became the villain of future films in the series instead of Pinhead. Let's Be Evil: It's a first person horror film that never really works at any point and the big twist is just pointless. So much of the film is pointless. Yu-Gi-Oh: Bonds Beyond Time: It's Yu-Gi-Oh. It's an excuse for all the protagonists to team-up in a duel that has like no rules whatsoever. It's okay, nothing special. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween: It's a lot more focused than the original... up until it becomes an excuse to make a bunch of CGI monsters. It had some good moments though and is likely to be a good horror movie for the preteens. Hellraiser: Always good, always interesting, definitely a good way to kick-off Halloween Month! Drop Dead Gorgeous: Definitely an underrated film with a mostly female cast. More than a few young actresses before they became big. A Simple Favor: Was not expecting to love this one as much as I did. A smart, darkly humorous thriller and well acted all around. Most Likely To Murder: I like Adam Pally and Rachel Bloom. I was hoping for something better than this. It was an alright comedy but a little too mean-spirited at times. The Goonies: It's a childhood favorite. It mostly holds up. I have not been keeping up. I know there are movies that I'm forgetting. Manos: The Hands of Fate: One of my favorite MST3k Episodes. Needed something while folding laundry. Castle in the Sky: Is it Miyasaki;s best film? No but that doesn't change that it's a fun film and one of his most accessible. Jupiter Ascending: Is it good? No but there's enough going for it that I can appreciate. It's visually interesting, it's just when plot happens that it starts... yeah...
