  1. I'm going to have to also say Gargoyles. Especially since that's where I got the Puck from in my screen name... almost 15 years ago... wow.
  2. A few months ago I was chatting with my father about how I was about to start watching the Peter Davidson episodes along with you guys, and well, he told me his opinion of him. To set things up a bit, I grew up hearing stories from both my mother and step-mother of my Dad's Doctor Who addiction, so he's been a fan for quite sometime. His opinion of Peter Davidson was that he was... well let's put it nicely, a "pretty boy". Not the word he used but I refuse to use that word outside of xbox live! Anyways, from this anecdotal story I'd say people of the time who were use to Baker probably saw it as a move to pretty up the cast to get more viewers. Pretty much what they do now from the get go on most TV. I also find it hilarious that you guys said there was no news when Torchwood had it's season finale. Kind shows what whimper of a story it had. Just watch the finale and let's just say, meh. It really could have been great, but it just felt like a mish mash of so many things. Are you guys going to review Torchwood? Keep awesome, guys!
  3. Not too bad of an episode. Asked some tough questions. No one really have to answer them, but overall not that bad.
  4. Here's a page of Dalek comics my wife came across. http://tiffanysinnerthoughts.wordpress.com/2011/09/06/dalek-comics-doctor-who/ Kind of hit and miss... just like the Dalek's aim! (Badadadish!)
  5. I'm a bad Who fan... I didn't notice him. Though I'll chalk that up to I haven't seen any of his stories... yet.
  6. I think maybe if I had more of a fear of dolls that might have increased the tension, but they just looked like a poor mans Clockwork Robot.
  7. This weeks episode just felt too much like an episode of Goosebumps too me.
  8. Neil Gaiman posted this on his Twitter feed this morning. "What would you do if you were stuck in the Antarctic for 7 months of Winter? That's right, you'd make a DOCTOR WHO video "
  9. If it was Blu-Ray, I might consider double dipping. As is, no. Glad you said that. I'll have to put that into my consideration of buying that.
  10. That's very cool Koete! Thanks for posting that!
  11. Also, Mr Johnson, Fantastic/Brilliant! Looking forward to more in the future!
  12. Dan, One of the reasons you said you didn't care for Black Orchid was because the Doctor wasn't in it, and the name of the show is Doctor Who, however in the modern series there is generally one episode that doesn't feature the Doctor very heavily. Was Black Orchid trying to maybe do the same to focus more on a companion than the Doctor? Just a thought.
  13. How could there NOT be one in the works! It's just too good of a concept!
  14. Wanted to show off what the wife got me for my 30th birthday. She also got me something sweet for the 1st year anniversary a few weeks ago that is also Who related. I'll post pics of that once I stop being lazy and upload them.
  15. For the longest time, I hated the character of the Joker. I couldn’t stand him. He seemed like one of the many Batman villains that was drug out from the cheesy golden era that for some reason seemed to stay. It was driving me crazy that it seemed every time there was a Batman story everyone was clambering for the Joker to make an appearance. I couldn’t it. At the end of Batman Begins when Gordon shows Batman the Joker playing card I was pissed. We already had Joker as a villain in two movies already. I felt it was time to move on to another of Batman’s exceptional rogue’s gallery. Then I started listening to World’s Finest Podcast. That was when I slowly started to get it. Growing up, the only exposure I had to the Joker was through the Burton/Schumacher films and the Dini/Timm animated series. That was not the best of portrayals of the Joker. While Burton did bring to the mainstream the darker Batman, he didn’t bring the psychology of Joker along with him. We still had the goofy Joker with pink lips. He was also the one who shot Bruce’s parents, which was the origin that I thought to be canon for the longest time. I was unaware of Joker’s better origin as The Red Hood. More importantly, I was unaware of Joe Chill, the man who killed Bruce’s parents and the one person that Batman would never be able to bring to justice. So I watched the Burton film. I was young, and I fell enjoyed them. However, it wasn’t the films that hooked me into Batman. It was the animated series. The DCAU if you will. Now with the exceptional story telling of the animated series, I still really hated whenever an episode would come up that had Joker in it. Those episodes always seemed to be just inane episodes with someone who was causing some mischief that was random happenings. BORING! I wanted my psychological in depth episodes. I was too enthralled with characters such as Two-face, The Mad Hatter, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and even another golden-age villain, The Riddler. For years afterwards I was confused. With the awesome assortment of Batman villains, why did everyone always seem to go to the Joker as Batman’s ultimate villain? One person told me it was because Batman could never kill him. I now see that person didn’t get Batman at all. It was all just baffling. Joker just caused random mischief, why was everyone so obsessed over this character? Then I started listening to World’s Finest Podcast. I started to understand why I didn’t like Joker. Tim Burton did a horrible portrayal. He stuck too much to the 60’s classic feel of Joker as well as made him the murderer of Bruce’s parents. Then came the second clue. Dini/Timm seemed to only use Joker as a draw for episodes that were subpar. I wasn’t seeing Joker at his best. So as I went thought the DCAU with Mike and James, I finally learned what I was missed from Joker. He wasn’t the character who just caused mischief. Someone who turned the river water blue for fun, but rather turned the river water blue to kill everyone because he thought it was funny. He was psychopath. His mind games would really mess someone up, such as Harley Quinn. I meant to write this up and send it to you well before the show ended, but life got in the way. So here it is now, and thank you guys for such an awesome podcast!
  16. Turns out that Starz is streaming Miracle Day on their site. At least the first episode. I'm hoping they'll post the rest as they come out. http://www.starz.com/originals/torchwood/Pages/title.aspx?src=starz_mktg&med=referral&cmp=torchwood&cid327
  17. Great review! I've been dying to chat with someone about this movie, but I don't know anyone else who has seen it. They had the same issue that you had of being burned by X3 and Wolverine, and my wife HATES the White Queen, so she wouldn't go with me. I don't know why, but it took me about 2 hours after the review to remember who the second cameo appearance you were talking about. I had the same thought about the coin. A good slow pace was the only way. A question hit me later on was why didn't Magneto ever get some more of those snazzy helmets for the rest of his crew? He has a different helmet when X1 comes out, so it's possible to get more. Why so stingy Magneto!?!?
  18. Awww, the way you guys were all gushing about the Doctor Who anime made me sad because I posted a thread about it almost a year ago http://forums.earth-2.net/index.php?showtopic=7580 Well, gotta have my hipster moment, "I liked it before it was cool". Picture Matt Smith saying that, it comes out more charming than I can convey in text form.
  19. Check out this cuteness overload! This make me want to start having kids! http://saucepls.info/A/9d/doctor_goo.jpg
