  1. I know we said that we could do one in theory there are a few actors who cross over. I might put it together and post it here for those interested.
  2. Definitely a good spot on the pool table. That was the kind you'd find in British pubs so I guess the BBC prop department had it as a stock prop. You're right, they should be playing 8 ball pool.
  3. I think the Cult of Star Cops documentary can be found on YouTube.
  4. I'd second Heavanly Creatures as it was a breakout role for Winslet and one of the last films by Peter Jackson before he made Lord of the Rings. The Reader as it is a very complex role where she plays a possible war criminal. I'd also suggest Divergent because she's in it and I really want you to watch Divergent...like Jumpin' Jack Flash want.
  5. While it has been, somewhat, disheartening to find that others don't enjoy this as much as I do I find it interesting that it is dividing people. If you'd asked me when we began what the most divisive show we'd cover would be I wouldn't have said Dark Season in a million years.
  6. Having seen this both Gillian and I have compiled lists and we've only had 6 films that crossed over. Mainly because she has a more wider ranging taste than I. I have tried to not have too many films from the same franchise for variety sake. 1977 - The Spy Who Loved Me 1978 - Superman 1979 - Alien 1980 - The Blues Brothers 1981 - An American Werewolf in London 1982 - Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 1983 - Return of the Jedi 1984 - This is Spinal Tap 1985 - Back to the Future 1986 - Biggles 1987 - The Untouchables 1988 - Die Hard 1989 - Batman 1990 - The Hunt for Red October 1991 - The Rocketeer 1992 - Aladdin 1993 - Groundhog Day 1993 - Groundhog Day 1993 - Groundhog Day 1994 - Ed Wood 1995 - Clueless 1996 - From Dusk Till Dawn 1997 - L.A. Confidential 1998 - The Big Lebowski 1999 - Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me 2000 - Gladiator 2001 - Ocean's 11 2002 - The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2003 - Kill Bill volume 1 2004 - The Incredible's 2005 - Mr and Mrs Smith 2006 - Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby 2007 - Hot Fuzz 2008 - Hellboy 2: The Golden Army 2009 - Sherlock Holmes 2010 - Machete 2011 - X-Men First Class 2012 - The Avengers 2013 - Pacific Rim 2014 - Guardians of the Galaxy 2015 - Creed 2016 - Ghostbusters
  7. Along similar lines there's also Bananaman, Superted and The Family Ness that might be worth consideration.
  8. I really need to sit you guys down with some British cartoon fare. Assuming you aren't already familiar with it.
  9. I'm so pleased that the term "The Ian Position" is crossing over to other podcasts.
  10. Just finished listening to this. Splendid review as ever. We love this film in our household. We spend time mocking Snoke in various ways. Me because I initially misheard his name and thought he was called Leader Snope which led me to imagine he spent a lot of time debunking myths about the Jedi. Meanwhile Gillian chooses to believe that Snoke is actually tiny. Like the fear demon in that Buffy episode.
  11. If feel that, in the name of context, I should add an episode of Bullseye.
  12. That would be me. I was thinking about you when I wrote it.
  13. I can't believe I forgot about this. Yes. Plus it's a really funny film. Not just Mike Myers. The whole cast are great. Particularly Alan Arkin.
  14. So I Married an Axe Murderer because it's the closest thing he gives to a naturalistic comedy performance. If you have to pick an Austin Powers film then it should be The Spy Who Shagged Me as that's the best one.
  15. Part of me wants to do a sseparate Buck Rogers rewatch show with Dan where the main attraction is him losing his shit about Twiki on every show.
  16. Might be an interesting experiment into how well Caprica stands up as a show in its own right as I'd be willing to bet that Ian hasn't watched and Galactica.
  17. I haven't spent 12 years learning multiple fighting styles, languages and detective skills and I still can't do some of the things on that list. At least he has an execuse.
  18. That's fantastic, brutal but fantastic.
  19. Thank you for the kind words all. To be even tangentially mentioned in the same breath as Bob Newhart is an unexpected compliment. If anyone is interested in reading the Flash Gordon comics Dan mentioned they are currently very cheap on Comixology. I paid 69p per issue and if I remember correctly that should make them $1 each in the US.
  20. Rasputin The Mad Monk because it's possibly the maddest looking part Lee ever played. Dracula, because why the fuck wouldn't you. Gremlins 2:The New Batch because sadly I suspect Zach Galligan month will never be a thing
  21. I am, right at this moment, watching a film called Pound of Flesh. Jean-Claude Van Damme wakes up in a bath full of ice and, eventually, notices that he's had his kidney stolen. This is especially upsetting because he was in town to donate it to his dying neice. So JCVD (minus one kidney) goes on a Taken style rampage looking for his kidney.
  22. I was curious if I'd warrant mention. *Downloads episode while sharpening axe*
