  1. Either way, it's not a kid's game and buying it for a 14 year old is just another example of adult irresponsibility.
  2. Yoda's console is tremendous. That's what I want.
  3. Kris R

    Greatest Toy Ever.

That is ridiculously good. I absolutely love it. It'd be awesome if he came with chalk and a blackboard.
  4. That's a cool poster. I really like it.
  5. I realise that entirely and, without wanting to turn this thread into a political discussion, I just find it at times amusing and at others annoying that people seem to forget that it isn't only the erroneously branded "religious right" parties that are seeking censorship.
  6. Good. I really believe everything I wrote in that post. After Hames' comment I did a little reading on the guy and I'm really not surprised that he would make a comment like this. What's amusing to me is that it's usually the Republicans in your country and the Liberals in ours (both ridiculously branded the "religious right") who are accused of trying to censor everything.
  7. Well, it depends on who is driving. It is certainly a weapon in the hands of some. Hames, most American politicians just seem to blend into each other to the rest of us. I hear so many things during election campaigns that just make me laugh uncontrollably that nothing an American politician says takes me by surprise anymore. Yoda, were you being serious or sarcastic? I can never tell as everything comes out from that debonaire facade.
  8. Just won the Ashes with Australia on Cricket 2004. Good stuff.
  9. The problem here isn't that the game is M-rated, it's that game/film/music classifications have no effect when they aren't enforced. When a parent allows their children access to restricted content then they are taking a shit on the classification system designed to protect their children from unsuitable content. This point is too difficult and unpopular to argue however so it's far easier to simply target the artists (I include game designers under that banner) and push the blame onto them. There's another issue here. This problem wouldn't exist in Australia. Why? Our citizens aren't armed to the teeth. It is exceedingly difficult to purchase a firearm here and automatic and semi-automatic weapons are illegal for all, regardless of what use you might have for them. The process of acquiring a licence is lengthy and involved so, short of those in the Olympic shooting team, most don't own firearms at all. The illegal trade of firearms is not sufficient to create too much of a problem so, by and large, we don't need to worry too much about our police officers being shot down by "kids warped by video games." Perhaps if Americans (and I know I'm generalising here) didn't carry wallets in their left pockets and guns in their right then the problem wouldn't be so large. Again, that's a difficult and unpopular argument to make so let's just blame Eidos.
  10. I'd say so. I like Logan's suggestion that they trust each other and that the secret is safe.
  11. In Year One, I have to vote Ra's Al Ghul. Batman is just too raw for me to put over here. Tough choice though.
  12. Ah, I'd forgotten about the non-EU rule. Sorry.
  13. My mother has a crush on Patrick Stewart. Apparently it's the voice. Looks like he appeals to all ages.
  14. Not so anymore. In the final book of the NJO Luke uses Force Lightning on a Yuuzhan Vong warrior about to attack Jacen and Jaina Solo. He extends his left hand and sends a tangle of blinding raw energy manipulated into being by the Force toward the Vong warrior. It is dangerously close to using the dark side, but no more so than Vaapad. How many non Oratory guys are there on here. Most I've seen post at both.
  15. Beautiful. I can't get enough Patrick Stewart. The man is golden. As for the direction, I'm really at a loss as to who will take over. It should be Singer as Yoda suggested, but God help us if it's Ratner.
  16. Yoda and Q with the truth. If it's universally enforced then good. As Q mentioned it is already a policy in some places and this merely gives the establishments statutory authority to card.
  17. Well, I voted Yoda but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. I don't think the battle would be much of a force war but would rather be a test of lightsaber skills. At the time of ROTS, Obi-Wan is far more proficient than Yoda with a lightsaber in hand. Yoda would own him with raw force power and the ability to use force lightning and telekinesis but Obi-Wan would probably win the lightsaber duel. Yoda's speed and mobility allows him to survive for longer but wouldn't allow him to make too many penetrating strikes. Obi-Wan's Soresu style allows him to soak up all that jumping, hopping and flipping around and then strike on the counter.
  18. I'll go with Yoda. He had absolutely everything - knowledge of the Force, wisdom, foresight, unparalleled saber skills. He was truly the greatest Master and, as good as Obi-Wan was, no one else was in his league. Anakin Skywalker may have been the Chosen One, Luke Skywalker may have had every ounce of his father's potential and Kyp Durron may have had more raw Force power than both of them but none of them holds a candle to Yoda. I shudder to think how strong he would have been during his prime.
