Kermit. Significant back catalogue over decades, a variety of roles and choices as a performer. Made the leap from TV into The Muppet Movie but then moves from mere sequel bait into action films like Muppet Treasure Island and smaller more critic-friendly roles like Cratchett in Muppet Christmas Carol. Plus he had a recent career renaissance so there's modern stuff to cover as well.

Sterling stuff, sir! Particularly as it says you posted this at 5 in the morning - I would personally struggle to replicate such prose and accurate spelling at such an ungodly hour for what is ultimately some frivolous nonsense.

You're right I turned to the wrong pair of curmudgeonly critics. Best leave this to Mike and Dan.

With Dames Helen Mirren and Judi Dench crossed off the list, perhaps the time has come to complete the trifecta with Dame Maggie Smith? Winning an Oscar and making her first mark with The Prime of Miss Jean Brody, Smith went on to play a lot of mentor and older woman roles. She would get critical attention again in A Room With a View. Also, she played Mother Superior in Sister Act. While she has gained massive critical acclaim in the last few years for playing the Dowager Countess in Downton Abbey, most people didn't realize that she practically already played the part in Gosford Park from 2001.

Seconded.

Peter Lorre. Sure, he has only so much screen time in Casablanca and Arsenic and Old Lace, but I gather he has quite prominent roles in M, The Man Who Knew Too Much, and many other films (almost added 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but that would be better for James Mason or Kirk Douglas).

Oh man, showing Pandy 'M' would be quite a thing.

Along those lines, it might be interesting to cover a director as a special episode. It might be especially fun to cover someone like Spielberg for example who has a wide breadth of work. The guy has done big budget blockbuster action films (Jurassic Park, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Minority Report), powerful dramas (The Color Purple, Schindler's List, Lincoln), and family adventure acronym films (E.T., The BFG, A.I.). He's also done some... Less than stellar work (1941, Always) but then, what prolific director hasn't.

Well, maybe Christopher Nolan but ehh, exceptions.

Akin to our Tim Burton/Richard Curtis Christmas specials, you mean?

Along with Sean Bean, there are other actors in less high-profile roles who might qualify:

-Michael York (though he's not had a major film role in a while)

-Alan Cumming (no, seriously)

-Michael Gambon

-John Hurt

-Toni Collette

-Naomi Campbell

Plus, you've done the Holy Trinity of Dames, but there's still Diana Rigg, Julie Andrews, and Angela Lansbury.
