Pitch Perfect: I fucking loved this movie. I thought it was hilarious. I thought the music was pretty good. I liked that it was basically Bring It On but with acapella singing. I liked that it was something my wife and I could watch and both like. I also have two new crushes. Boom. Solid film.

Shana can barely sit through a movie once. The fact that we've seen it twice (together, I've seen it many times since) speaks volumes about its quality. I am so looking forward to the sequel.

Jesus, Rebel Wilson slays me. I fucking hated her in Bridesmaids. I thought she was brilliant in PP. Funnily enough when we were watching Megan asked who it was and I said "Her name is Rebel Wilson," and she's like "Oh yeah, she's the girl in Little Britain, right?"

To which I replied "No, that's a dude."

Mr. Popper's Penguins: hoo boy. Thank God Carla Gugino is in this movie because it allowed my brain to go elsewhere. Jim Carrey's hamming it up in this movie and almost every single laugh (of which there are few) came from the fucking CGI penguins.

Ghostbusters II: a rewatch for family movie night (second night in a row). Doesn't touch the original, but it doesn't get the respect it deserves. The performances are excellent but Winston weirdly doesn't have a line until like 35 minutes into the movie. never noticed that before. He's in a bunch of scenes, but no lines. Shame.

But to be fair, those two play brother and sister in Bridesmaids.

That birthday party scene is not 35 minutes into the movie.

I don't remmeber a birthday party scene. Maybe I was in the bathroom. Regardless, he's basically a non-entity with VERY few lines until he gets "hit" by the ghost train.

It's a teaser right at the beginning, in which it looks like Ray and Winston are referring to a call, but instead they've been hired to entertain at a birthday party. Said party sees a young Jason Reitman chew them out before they try and salvage things with the Ghostbusters theme.

I mean, I know Winston doesn't get used a lot and I don't mean to invalidate your criticism, but he was at least paid lip service at the start via the aforementioned party scene.

Last film I watched in 2014 was Annie. How can a movie produced by Jay-Z have such terrible music in it? Also, the girl that plays Annie is just awful, in both singing and acting. If you have to autotune her, then she shouldn't play the part. Cameron Diaz should never sing again. Jamie Foxx was good, but even his songs didn't sound right. David Zayas was awesome as usual playing the one character he knows how to play, and I enjoyed Rose Byrne as Foxx's assistant. I don't know what audience they were trying to appeal to. The music was not geared to today's kids, and they definitely won't get the references to Michael J Fox and C&C Music Factory. Did they make this for people over 30, and if so, why?
