A.Logan
http://www.everythingscary.com/news.php?pi...5a6af0265e0739e Nope. I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm coming along for the ride.
Missy
GRAH! I hate Saw! Nonetheless, I'll probably catch this as a matinee so I can review (RE: trash) it.
A.Logan
GRAH! I hate Saw! Nonetheless, I'll probably catch this as a matinee so I can review (RE: trash) it. Sounds like a plan, I may have to do it so we could experiment with a two column stereo bashing.
Missy
Sounds like a good idea.
Cash
Looks like shit, but I'll see it anyway. Count me in for a three way smashing probably.
James D.
As one of the few people who left the theatre pleased with the first movie, I eagerly await this one.
Missy
Exactly what did you like?
James D.
Exactly what did you like? The methods of death, mainly.
Missy
That I'll give you; most of the deaths were very cool, but I still can't get past, oh, just about everything else.
James D.
That I'll give you; most of the deaths were very cool, but I still can't get past, oh, just about everything else. See, I understand criticisms of the movie. There were a lot of plotholes, and the second half of the movie just trailed off into mediocrity when it showed such promise to start with. Not to mention Cary Elwes' melodrama...ugh. So, it's not like I'm proclaiming this as a 4-star classic. But the first half of the film was can't-take-your-eyes-off-of-it material. If they make this movie more like the first hour of the original, it could be really good. You know why I think I liked Saw so much? Because of all of these namby-pamby PG-13 pseudo-"horror" movies they keep churning out anymore. Please tell me you've noticed this trend towards PG-13 horror movies. It's pathetic. Saw was violent as all hell and it had a shitload of psychology for a while there. Maybe it was just that it was an R-rated horror flick among the sea of mediocre PG-13 movies I've been subjected to over the last 18 months. Am I the only one who thinks this? Missy
Oh no, I agree. There are far too many "let's get the teen audience in by rating this PG-13" horror films floating around nowadays. And yeah, most of them suffer because of it.
James D.
Yeah. So basically, while Saw II could very well suck beyond all measure, it at least looks like it will keep my morbid mind focused for 90 minutes or so. And I won't have to worry as much about a bunch of 15- and 16-year-old high schoolers flooding the theatre.
Missy
I see teens in R rated films all the time.
James D.
I see teens in R rated films all the time. Yeah, but I mean not nearly as many as PG-13 movies. At least from my experience, anyway.
Missy
Quite the opposite for me, actually. I tend to see more teens in R rated films than movies that are rated PG-13. Matter of fact, the PG-13 films I see are usually filled with preteens, very young teens and parents with their children.
Cash
Dammit do I hate PG-13 horror movies. Blech says Cash.
Missy
Guess what. I hated it.
James D.
I'm going to see it in a few minutes. Guess I'll see if it was worth it.
