Stavros
Good catch there sir! Should really be just "grew up during the great depression". If this stands it makes any woman he becomes involved with during the war a paedophile.
ShaunKL
The official synopsis: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment... Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by "vita-rays." Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers. Anyone else notice what they messed up? How did he enlist if he was only 12-15 years old? Great Depression started in 1929 and the US entered WWII in 1941. Vita-Rays apparently have a semi-"Captain Marvel" effect on people I guess.

KnightWing
It's a cosmic cube. Basically grants a genie-like wish to anyone who possesses it. One of those Holy Grail/Spear of Destiny-type things that the Nazis were always after.
JackFetch
It's a fan-boy plot device. It supposedly shows up in Thor briefly also.
Molly
I think it will be a major plot point in The Avengers flick. Loki and Skull may both briefly have it, but Cosmic Cube is huge enough for the Avengers.
JackFetch
Appearing this past year in both Black Swan and Hot Tub Time Machine, actor Sebastian Stan is set for one of his most prominent roles to date come this July: Steve Roger's "sidekick" Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger. MTV had the chance to chat with Stan about the role and about what we can expect from the character's first big-screen appearance. "Steve Rogers and Bucky are both orphans and kind of like brothers," Stan said, professing that he was unfamiliar with the comics before getting cast, "They kind of grow up together and look after each other. It's a very human, relatable thing. And growing up in the Army is a very specific thing. There's a certain way these guys carry themselves, there's a certain etiquette, a certain body posture, the way that they interact. So I went back and read the comics and watched a lot of documentaries on World War II. "Band of Brothers" was very helpful." Though the film looks to set up Barnes as a teammate soldier of Rogers, the character was, in the comic book continuity, a teenage orphan too young to join the army and who instead was brought to the battlefield as a mascot. After learning the identiy of Captain America, Barnes became his sidekick until he was presumed killed in action (alongside Cap). It was revealed decades later that Barnes had been captured by Soviet forces and reprogrammed into an assassin known as the Winter Soldier. Following Marvel's Civil War, Rogers was again believed dead and Barnes inherited the mantle of Captain America himself. "There's a lot of CGI stuff and working with a green screen," Stan added of the effects work so far, "I hadn't done that too extensively before. That was very challenging, because you're just there surrounded by green walls, but there's explosions going off around you, so you have to factor that in and maintain that in your imagination." http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/113667-actor-sebastian-stan-on-captain-americas-bucky

Venneh
Why hello there..... I think David Bowie's costume in the Labyrinth may be getting a run for crotchtacularness. This may be the quality, but the armor looks like a quilt. Also, what's up with the chin strap?
Missy
This version of the mask is more of a helmet, so the strap's there to keep it on.
