Davedevil
Ike was also singlehandedly responsible for the lack of Black Widow toys and merch. I saw a commercial yesterday where the Avengers toys are saving a car from a buggy running into it. I noticed Black Widow wasn't there. I really hope Supergirl is a hit and sells tons of merch to show Marvel that female heroes can make money. DC/WB is not really any better at this. They cancelled Young Justice because too many girls were watching it. I don't have a link right now but I recall Greg Weisman and some other people in the know disputing this.http://twitter.com/Greg_Weisman/status/521172363329560578

Dan
The site is quoting Bleeding Cool for its "failure" quote. Grain of salt. It took in less than Disney was expecting/hoping for, but that's pure clickbait.
Dan
Kevin Feige nearly quit Marvel over his battles with Perlmutter over Civil War.

dc20willsave
In the weirdest thing yet, NBC ABC is planning a DC Comics Workplace Comedy that takes place at an insurance agency in the DC Universe Damage Control sitcom.

dc20willsave
I am really starting to think that the Captain Marvel movie is never going to happen.
slothian
Last I heard it was still being written and there were no names attached. Much easier to set an Ant-Man sequel in motion when the cast is established, or when Black Panther has at least been cast and elements of his franchise are likely to be worked into Cap 3.Still, Feige hasn't exactly given that movie his full backing.... Koete
Fox is developing a Hellfire Club show and FX has ordered a pilot for a Legion show. They sure don't want that license to languish.
JackFetch
With FX getting Legion and Y: The Last Man, I think we can see the direction they are taking the network.
Molly
CBR and Newsarama are both reporting on a rumor that Fox traded the FF movie rights to Marvel for the X-Men tv rights. I'm hoping it's true, of course.
Donomark
I'd question what else they can do with the F4 on-screen, but then I remembered how this most recent movie turned out. They've gotta have a real, definitive vision for those characters to work on-screen, and it would have to work in conjunction with all of the other crazy people in the MCU. Where would Reed Richards have been when SCIENCE was needed and Tony Stark was too busy making it worse for everyone?
dc20willsave
The thing is, I'm not hoping the rumors are true because of the possibility of getting another Fantastic Four movie. I'm hoping the rumors are true so we can get a version of Doctor Doom that works.
Davedevil
The rumor's not true, according to FOX.

Koete
Sony made a mess of the Spider-Man reboot, but I'm not jumping with joy for 2017.
Molly
Because your heart is black and cold, Chris. Joy is real. It's okay to feel something.Yes, the Marvel movies are formulaic and have inspired far too many grand designs of cinematic universes as money printing machines, but you know what else they are? Fun. Which is something Fox doesn't seem to think the Fantastic Four needs.
dc20willsave
Chris is capable of feeling something but it requires the screen to be black and white and at least 30% of the artistic input has to be impressionism. Koete
That certainly helps, although this year I'm about Tony Scott, Michael Mann, and Brian De Palma. I'm not adverse to fun and superheroics, as the Flash thread will attest, but the humor of Marvel is part of the formula and it's not as fresh by this point.
Donomark
I'm hoping with the changing of the Marvel Guard Phase Three really shakes things up to where we really do see diverse feeling films. I like Age of Ultron more'n most if not all people, but these days I'm seeing what Chris is meaning.
