JackFetch
I find it funny that everyone is doing something with their power/weapon in that picture except Black Widow. She's just posing like "I don't have anything cool to do so I'll just pretend".

prez
I find it strange that Black Widow is wearing basically high heeled boots. Well, yeah. If there's anything Scarlett Johannson needs, it's more curves.
Venneh
A challenge for you, gents. Find me one heroine who does not have some ridiculous aspect to her costume that emphasizes her assets and/or have a nonsenical weapon. Venneh
Good point. I was more talking to Jack since he was bitching about choices with BW's outfit and weapons.

Guest
I do love that a modestly dressed disabled woman in the comic book world still wears skin tight pants and has DOA cleavage. The correct answer is Jubilee. Utterly stupid looking, but also completely unsexy.
Molly
I think Liberty Belle counts, too.

The correct answer is Jubilee. Utterly stupid looking, but also completely unsexy. The 90s shorts that goes up to her belly button is the worst thing ever. All I can think of is Saved by the Bell when I see that outfit. About Black Widow's high heels. It looks utterly stupid because it's real life and not a comic book. She would fall over 30 seconds into a fight with those things, and my God how her feet must hurt.
MaxPower
my God how her feet must hurt. All I'm thinking about is how to get her out of those shoes and you're worried about her feet hurting? You're far too sensible
Stavros
Does she need boots? She wasn't wearing them in Iron Man 2. Boots don't exactly help with her particular set of skills. Seems like an addition made purely so she's less dwarfed by all the supermen. Wonder if Hawkeye gets some boots too?
JackFetch
There's been an onslaught of The Avengers news today with the EW cover, photos, more photos and character headshots. Now EW offers a look inside the magazine with character profiles on each member of the team, some of which tease important plot details. “He’s the most – guy, but a total loose cannon," says Mark Ruffalo of playing Dr. Bruce Banner/The Hulk, "No one wants to set him off except for Iron Man... who just wants to see him pop. It’s funny, there’s a really cool dynamic between Tony Stark and Banner. Banner actually enjoys it, and finds it really refreshing. They’re a lot alike in a strange way. They’re both these kind of scientists who are mavericks, kind of renegades. Banner, for all his mild-mannered mythology, he’s still the dude who was testing some pretty crazy s–t on himself, so he has that rebel streak in him.” It is also stated that Banner wants to be a member of the team, but that rest of the group considers him a liability. As for keeping the Hulk in check, the duty seems to fall to Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, who will also share a backstory with Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. “[Hawkeye is] the only one who can really take down The Hulk with his tranq tip arrows," says Renner, adding "...The only sort of thing I cling to is the relationship of past experiences with Scarlett’s character, with them both being human. ” Though Captain America was the hero we saw most recently on the big screen, Chris Evans says that things have changed between his solo film and The Avengers and that we'll see a darker take on Steve Rogers. “It’s just about him trying to come to terms with the modern world," Evans explains, "You’ve got to imagine, it’s enough of a shock to accept the fact that you’re in a completely different time, but everybody you know is dead. Everybody you cared about.. [E]verybody he went to battle with, all of his brothers in arms, they’re all dead. He’s just lonely. I think in the beginning it’s a fish out of water scene, and it’s tough. It’s a tough pill for him to swallow." Though the team is going head-to-head with Tom Hiddleston's Loki, Chris Hemsworth reveals that his Thor won't necessarily be the most at odds with his half-brother. “I think [Thor's] motivation is much more of a personal one," he says, "in the sense that it’s his brother that is stirring things up. Whereas everyone else, it’s some bad guy who they’ve gotta take down. It’s a different approach for me, or for Thor... I’ve been frustrated with my brothers at times, or family, but I’m the only one who is allowed to be angry at them. There’s a bit of that.” http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/168512-the-avengers-character-details
Mull
All of Cap's brothers in arms are dead?
SuaveStar
All of Cap's brothers in arms are dead? Well, they were all in their 20's, and Captain America was set around 70 years ago, so it's plausible to think they died of old age, or other causes that happened over the seven decades. dc20willsave
World War 2 veterns are a dying breed. I believe the estimate is that by 2020, all save a very miniscule percentile will have passes away. That and the Howling Commandos didn't seem like the kind to live quiet lives after the war. The only reduces their chances at long term survival.
