Missy
Explain to me how the vulnerable to magic Superman was able to hold the magical hammer of Thor?
prez
Because DC would never let Superman look second best at anything?
Missy
Because DC would never let Superman look second best at anything? True, but it's bullshit. The editors should be ashamed to have made that blunder.
Cheap Heat
Because DC would never let Superman look second best at anything? True, but it's bullshit. The editors should be ashamed to have made that blunder. God damn it. This has annoyed me to no end.
Missy
God damn it. This has annoyed me to no end. What has -- him holding the hammer, or the entire crossover?
Cheap Heat
God damn it. This has annoyed me to no end. What has -- him holding the hammer, or the entire crossover? The hammer, I haven't read it yet, apparently it's very good. I plan to pick it up at Easter.
Missy
I haven't read all of it, but what I have was too cosmic for me. I prefer my heroes to fight earth-born villains. Aliens are okay too, but things get too crazy/out there for me when you mix in gods and omniscient beings.
James D.
You know what is really funny? That the Justice League cartoon on Cartoon Network showed Superman's vulnerability to magic (Dr. Fate blasted him), but the fucking comic book writers themselves couldn't be bothered to show it in this extremely monumental crossover. Amazing.
James D.
Well, I finally got Volume 4. It wasn't bad and Superman was written as some kind of god in this one. Overall, a damn good series, although little things brought the enjoyment level down. 8/
Luke
Superman was written as some kind of god in this one. And how is this different to any other Superman appearance? Funny how Thor IS some kind of God, and he still loses to Supes.
Gameovermus Prime
Superman got worshipped in this crossover. He shouldn't have beaten Thor, Vision died to save him from two jobbers, Thor threw him the hammer and made him look like an equal. Didn't Thor mention after the fight that the magic seal could be lifted in times of need, thus allowing Supes to pick it up?
Missy
Didn't Thor mention after the fight that the magic seal could be lifted in times of need, thus allowing Supes to pick it up? Yeah, but that's bullshit because Superman is weakened by magic. I know the worlds were topsy-turvy, but that doesn't mean you take away one of the man's weaknesses. Thor should have laid Superman out, just as Batman should have clobbered Cap.
