Dread
Yay! More release dates set before a script is written! <sarcasm>
KnightWing
All things being fair, media outlets have been blowing the script "problems" way out of proportion. All we know thus far is that the script is still being worked on, but that's not unusual, especially with Abrams films. Some are theorizing that it's a massive script overhaul, but it could just mean that they're rewriting dialogue and tweaking things to match the new cast members as they're being cast. Koete
BRB, gonna get cast in Star Wars VII so I can ask J. J. about lens flares.
KnightWing
BRB, gonna go jump in my TARDIS so I can go back to 2009 when that joke was still relevant.
Koete
Respect, that was a good burn.

JackFetch
R2-D2 is confirmed, and they hired fans from the worldwide R2-D2 Builders Club to make all the astromech droids for the movie. “It all started when Kathleen Kennedy toured the R2-D2 Builders area at Celebration Europe this past summer in Germany,” says Steeples. “She posed for pictures with us, looked at all the droids we’d built and was very complimentary. I mentioned that the R2-D2 Builders in the UK were available if required, as a semi-joke. When I was contacted to work on the film by [executive producer] Jason McGatlin, it was on her recommendation.” http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=111566
KnightWing
First Episode VII casting confirmed! I got to meet some of the guys from the R2 Builders a few years back; I wonder if any of their droids will be in the movie. It's pretty cool that the fans get to be recognized like that in any case. JackFetch
It would be amazing to go from a fan to working on the movie.

dc20willsave
Lucasfilm is apparently working to create a single, coherent canon.
Gareth
The Clone Wars will conclude in comic book form.
KnightWing
...hooray... ? Glad to know we'll get to see the story play out, but given how incredible Clone Wars' animation was, a comic isn't anywhere close to good enough. I hope it at least has art better than the usual Clone Wars comics.
Gareth
At this point I can't really tell if this is legit information or not but, apparently Luke, Leia, and Han will remain as the leads in Star Wars VII
KnightWing
Booo. I love the classic characters as much as anybody, but this is a new trilogy and it should be for the next generation, not the last generation. I almost get a Superman Returns "too much of a fan, can't let go of the past" vibe from that rumor.
NightAngle04
Completely agree, they can be in the movie and be background characters, but a new trilogy should mean new characters to follow.
KnightWing
Posted in the Star Wars thread instead of the Netflix thread because I think it makes more sense here. So apparently, not only is The Clone Wars' new mini-season helping to finish up the show itself; it's also filling in plot holes from Revenge of the Sith. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_jcl8wxSEI
