KnightWing
Trailer! Also, this:
annericelover
Well I am excited for the film, it looks like they took Ryan Reynolds familiar joke like personality and made it work, I still think it would have fit Wally West/The Flash character better, but the film looks good. I'm not incredibly keen on the heavy CGI the trailer is showing or the CGI bright suit he is wearing, it looks faker than Brandon Routh Superman suit. I'm also not looking forward to the 3D, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt
KnightWing
Technically, since the GL ring is a supercomputer that generates solid images, Hal's suit IS computer-generated... Also, there's kind of a weird thing that happens when you make something glow on-camera, whether it's a practical or CG effect: it messes up the texturing of whatever the object is you're looking at, making your brain think it's fake-looking. So, really, there might not be a way for a glowing suit not to look fake.
Venneh
Blake Lively still gives off the "Look at me! I'm ACTING!" vibes I've gotten off of her prior, so not too confident there. I have to give them credit on what they've done with the ring and the environments - the effects of the ring actually being used looks stunning, Oa and all of its residents look beautiful (well, not beautiful in the traditional sense, but well-rendered and well created), and Abin Sur and Sinestro look really promising. Still not big on the suit glowing, and I still think that he looks like Ben Stiller in the suit itself, but it'll grow on me. Also, the oath at the end did nothing for me. Sadface. JackFetch
I think the suit looks badass. I can't wait for this movie. Blake Lively is the only thing I don't give a crap about.
KnightWing
I don't think I've quite seen enough of Blake Lively to make a judgment. Actually, I think it's somewhat ridiculous how people seem to be like sharks circling the Lively-boat, waiting for it to sink. Personally, as long as she's tolerable I'll be fine. slothian
I don't think I've quite seen enough of Blake Lively to make a judgment. I hate it when K-Dubs is rational, it means I have to agree with him..... The trailer: me likey. The origins look sound enough from the trailer and Reynolds seems likeable in the role, even if it won't be a carbon copy of the Hal Jordan of the comics. I trust Martin Campbell not to screw this up - after all, the guy directed Goldeneye AND Casino Royale.
Molly
It feels a lot like Iron Man, more than I'd like, but there are worse formulas to follow.
KnightWing
Your begrudging approval is touching, sir Ian. Anyone else notice the symbol on Carol's helmet?

Koete
I hate it when K-Dubs is rational, it means I have to agree with him..... Then again, he said this about Megan Fox : She woulda been legendary as "the ridiculously hot chick from Transformers." Now she's nothing. As for the trailer, it has me a lot more optimistic about the film. It looks like one I can have fun watching.
JackFetch
I could care less about Lively as I don't even know who she is. I don't like her character in this movie as she's just there to be a love interest.
ShaunKL
What is the significance of the star on Carol's helmet?

I don't like her character in this movie as she's just there to be a love interest. Which is the problem, as Carrol Ferris should be more three-dimensional than that. KnightWing
What is the significance of the star on Carol's helmet? It's the symbol for the Star Sapphires of Zamaron, who she later joins. I could care less about Lively as I don't even know who she is. I don't like her character in this movie as she's just there to be a love interest. Which is the problem, as Carrol Ferris should be more three-dimensional than that. She's just someone that needs saving in the big battle, and wait until you see how she actually helps at the end. I predict many groans across the world. There've been a few comments from Lively and others hinting that the Star Sapphire thing will come into play majorly in the sequel(s). ...Which means that she'll have to be better than "passable" in her role. Damn.

KnightWing
Hey, we've never had a girl put on hot pink glowing spandex and fly through space whilst screaming "LOOOOOOOOOOVE" before, right?
JackFetch
I'm scared for Natalie Portman in Thor. I don't want to see her just be the damsel in distress, but I'm afraid that's what is going to happen. Women get treated badly in superhero movies. Hell, just action movies in general.
KnightWing
It's worse in Thor because they've already got Sif playing the "strong woman" role, so there's little chance of her being anything other than the damsel. Then again, there's no reason they can't still write her as a strong character despite not being an actual warrior. It's just that writers rarely do that... Koete
They upgraded Jane from nurse to scientist, so baby steps I guess (not that I'm putting down nurses or anything, my mother's one after all).

Again though, you're basing this on maybe 10 seconds of footage of her being in the trailer and the fact she's on Gossip Girl.
Missy
I got goosebumps. That said, the suit does look too digital, but they have plenty of time to fix that before the film's released.
SuaveStar
Sinestro looked good in the half a second they showed.
