Koete
Smallville trivia: when was this song played in the past?
KnightWing
^True that.^ I like how they brought back the song from the prom in Season 1. EDIT: The song was played at least three times in the show, once at the end of the pilot and twice during the S1 finale.
KnightWing
! The real Clark Kent!
Koete
! The real Clark Kent! Man, how true is that statement? For the first time in a very, very long time, an episode of Smallville has me excited.
KnightWing
It's like Smallville is slapping itself in the face for not being a real Superman story.
KnightWing
x_x That helicopter save was really damn cool. EDIT: And a former meteor freak villain shows up to say thank you to Clark for setting him straight all those years ago? Superman moment right there. Hell yeah. Koete
EDIT: And a former meteor freak villain shows up to say thank you to Clark for setting him straight all those years ago? Superman moment right there. Hell yeah. He's the bug kid from the second episode. The second episode. That is how you subtly reference the past, Smallville. KnightWing
I remember being twelve and loving that episode. The nostalgic geek in me is squealing like a little girl.
Koete
Of course, they had be Smallville and put him in that stupid leather jacket.
KnightWing
I know. I kinda liked that costume when it first showed up, but seeing it here kinda brought the episode down. Bleh. Also, I'm kinda hating how the heroes in Smallville actually refer to themselves as heroes. Kinda self-absorbed, and not terribly heroic. EDIT: And a Superman Returns reference? With Lois standing on his feet? Eh. BUT HOLY CRAP HE'S HOVERING. For the first definite time since the Pilot, I think. About frikkin' time. Koete
After that episode, the preview of Lois becoming Isis is kind of...lame?
KnightWing
I always thought it was lame. So now it's even lamer. Well, I was kinda disappointed with Season 10 (even by Smallville standards), but now I'm kinda excited to see what happens with the show at the end. I think they proved with this episode that they still have a semblance of an idea of what to do with the Superman legend. There's still a lot of crap in there, but hey. This is somewhat of an improvement.
ShaunKL
That was one of the best episodes of Smallville I've seen in a looong time. I love Superman Returns and wasn't even thinking of it as a reference. But uh, ( ), how sweet is it that the first time that Clark consciously flies, he's with Lois. I've never been one to get involved in the love plots (Except for of course, "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, LANA AGAIN?!" but that scene was amazing. Speaking of Erica Durance, wasn't she just rocking the Lois Lane in this episode? Leather jacket is dragging, wish they would've gone with a less solid color scheme, and the shoulder design is superfluous. Isis looks okay, I shut my brain off when I watch Smallville anyways. KnightWing
Hmm. The Isis episode is pretty good thus far.
Koete
The regular definition of good or the Smallville definition of good?
KnightWing
Halfway between the two. I haven't noticed any glaring problems yet. It's just entertaining thus far. Okay, this scene with Isis, GA, and Clark is pretty epic. Obvious/terrible CG aside, the teamup move Ollie and Clark pull is pretty great. KnightWing
Lois to Cat Grant: "That is the DUMBEST thing I've ever heard! And I thought you were a bottle blonde..." EDIT: GODDAMN IT CLARK TELL HER. >_< EDIT2: YES!
Koete
I think comic fans have accepted this is an alternate universe. So, Smallville writers, don't pull a mindwipe kiss at the end of the series.
KnightWing
At this point, Clark needs to magic-kiss everyone in Metropolis so they'll forget what he looks like without glasses. Is anyone else amused by the fact that Clark hasn't actually worn his uniform-jacket in combat yet?
ShaunKL
Yes I am. I think they designed it and said "Oh wait! This is crap, just leave him in the t-shirt." On the other hand, production wise this could've been before the jacket was made. In fact it almost felt like the first episode of the season shot, correct me if I'm wrong. KnightWing
Aquaman & Mera from an upcoming episode. I have two thoughts on this: #1: Arthur just stepped off the set of Tron: Legacy. #2: CLEAVAGE.
ShaunKL
#1: He looks like Matt Damon to me for some reason. #2: CLEAVAGE. #3:Arthur just stepped off the set of Tron: Legacy.

dc20willsave
Maybe this is years of watching Passions at play but I'm half expecting her to start screaming, "It's fate!" and proceed to try to kill someone.
KnightWing
Oh boy. Tonight's episode is a "religious people who live in the countryside are actually socially intolerant murderers" storyline. Nice one, Smallville.
