JackFetch Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 The first still from Kevin Smith's new movie: You horror fans shouldn't have a problem getting the reference on the jerseys. Quote
JackFetch Posted May 29, 2008 Author Report Posted May 29, 2008 The trailer comes out at midnight tonight here. It's out. Not surprisingly it's a red banned trailer. Quote
drqshadow Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Much as I loved Clerks, Chasing Amy and Dogma, I think I'm over Kevin Smith. This looks amusing, but it's like he's running around in circles now. Quote
JackFetch Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 According to Kevin Smith, the MPAA gave this movie an NC-17. He's appealing it. This is not the first time one of his movies got an NC-17. Quote
JackFetch Posted August 6, 2008 Author Report Posted August 6, 2008 Smith won the appeal, and now the movie is rated R. Quote
JackFetch Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 More MPAA nonsense as the poster has been banned. Quote
Koete Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 More MPAA nonsense as the poster has been banned. Looks like Imageshack banned it too. Quote
JackFetch Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 Looks like Imageshack banned it too. I'm guessing the file name did it. I didn't change the name. Quote
Molly Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Wicked pumped for this, as I love both Rogen and Smith. Banks is capable occasionally. Quote
badwolf Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I'm really excited for this movie. The theatre is where i'm going to be spending my Halloween night. Quote
Blane Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Coming to brag a bit about playing poker with Kevin this Friday. Should be fun. Quote
Guest DCAUFan1051 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 I figured I'd post this here since I am unsure if there's a dedicated Kevin Smith thread An Evening With Keven Smith DVD was coool An Evening With Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder sucked now according to VideoEta Home there will be a third Kevin Smith Touring DVD Entitled: A Threevening With Kevin Smith OMFG WTF I love his movies and I know like the rest of us he's out to make $$$$ but dang do we really need another 1 of these standup DVD's from Kevin Smith?? here's the link to the videoeta.com page where it shows a bigger cover art pic A Threevening With Kevin Smith DVD Quote
Blane Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 It's confirmed. And I actually prefer Evening Harder. It's a bit more serious but you learn more about the flicks and things. Edit: And what's wrong with him releasing it? If it makes him money why wouldn't he keep doing them? Quote
Guest DCAUFan1051 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 I was looking at the videoeta homepage and saw the upcoming releases and the NEW Kevin Smith DVD I just had a bad recation because of Evening Harder I LOVE the first one but after about 20mins watching the 2nd one I was done. I'm surprised I stil have it on my DVD shelf and now he's releasing a third one my reaction and feeling is UGH. that's just my opinion I wish him all the best and I love a majority of his films but still this is like toooo much in my opnion. slothian Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 3 stand up DVDs doesn't sound like too much for one comic, IMO. I don't tend to buy stand-up DVDs but my brother has 3 Bill Bailey DVDs and 4 Ross Noble DVDs, and they're always good to throw on. EDIT: I'll probably go and see this. Maybe I'm shallow, but a comedy film about amateur porn appeals to my demographic sensibilities! Quote

Dan Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Exept that Smith isn't a comic; he's a talented writer and crap director who loves nothing more than talking about himself and is being given the opportunity to do so in front of his cult. Yes, I have an issue with Smith. With that said, yes, the first Evening disc is hilarious. Some of his movies are great, and I am actually looking forward to Zach and Miri. Quote

I liked all the Smith films except for Jersey Girl I have no problem with the guy at all personally but you know how some ppl in the film/music/TV industry go over the fuckin top well that's what this third DVD is lol here's the cover art Quote

I have to agree Smith sold himself out, which I wouldn't mind if he wasn't rubbing it in everyones face with his lazy and self righteous attitude. Quote

That's it, you're on the list. I don't have a problem with him putting out another one. Yes, Evening 2 was disappointing, but the dude makes tons of ones from these DVD's and speaking engagements. It also allows fans of not just his movies, but films in general, to get a peek inside the Hollywood machine. Quote
Blane Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 I still don't get it. Why do you care if he releases a dvd for his fanbase? What harm is it doing for him to make money? I generally dismiss anyone who uses the term "sold out" anyway. There is nothing objectionable to making money in the world in my eyes. If you don't dig the dvd you don't have to buy it. I fail to see what the issue is. Quote
JackFetch Posted September 19, 2008 Author Report Posted September 19, 2008 AintitCoolNews has a review of the movie up. Lets see here. Brandon Routh and Justin Long are gay lovers. Jason Mewes' dick. Jeff Anderson as the porn cameraman who's only experience is one high school football game. Dick and fart jokes abound. Sounds like a Kevin Smith movie to me. Imagine if Knocked Up, The Player, Orgazmo and Mallrats all came into the same Petri dish, got mixed together thoroughly and then artificially inseminated Chasing Amy and you have a good idea of what ZACK AND MIRI MAKES A PORNO is. Quote
SuaveStar Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Went to see it yesterday, the description is just about right. Though add that the ending is a bit shit, it's an alright movie, but nothing really that special. It's the type of movie you'd make if you and your friends had four months to kill and a million dollar budget and then remembered you could show as much as possible if you wanted to. Also the film should be called: zach and Miri make 75% of a porno then fal in love and get together, and don't do anything with the movie. If you enjoy a movie with an ending which just leaves you wondering why the fuck did I waste two hours on this, considering that things are pretty much the same as theyw ere, just with the same money troubles and a lot of swearing, than this is the movie for you. At least Knocked up had a definitive ending, where he grew up, this one their basically still in financial peril and no one gives a shit. What? Too long. Ok, how about Mallrats 2? Quote

Though add that the ending is a bit shit, it's an alright movie, but nothing really that special. I assume you missed the mid-credits scene then as well. Most with that opinion of the film's closing did not see the apparent real last scene. If this is the case, I wish I could tell you what happened but I too left too early. Quote
SuaveStar Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 So they Iron-Manned us!? At least when Iron Man did it, it was just an added bonus. You did get a real ending. Quote
