Davedevil
Neil Gaiman's episode will be a Cybermen episode Ehh....I hate the Cybermen and absolutely love Gaiman and his writing. Can't really complain, though.
Donomark
Neil Gaiman's episode will be a Cybermen episode EDIT: Also, this: XD reminds me of this I saw the other day
Missy
Regarding Gaiman's episode: The Cyber's are getting a redesign, and from what I can tell, they look pretty sleek. They're sort of akin to the new RoboCop. They're also without the Cybus logo, so my hope is these are the original Cybermen.
KnightWing
Kinda reminds me of the Borg Queen.
Stavros
Awesome! This episode promises to answer so many questions about the modern series Cybermen!
Kenny Evil
Doctor Who special on Children in Need Not a surprise as they've done one for all the previous events for the last 7 years, but still looking forward to it. I also just finished the Big Finish Audio "Voyage to Venus" and it's an incredible amount of fun and dirt cheap as well. Almost makes up for Colin Baker going on "I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here". Stavros
Firstly, awesome. Secondly, I don't think any Doctor's been as good at promoting the show and making it seem fun as Matt Smith. Thirdly, JLC is very cute. Fourthly This looks like it's all happening inside his head. His Scrooge outfit reflects his state of mind, the presence of Strax in combination with Vastra and Jenny seems like it would be unlikely to occur prior to Strax's death (although it could be a clone I suppose). All this along with the mystery of who and how JLC's character is there. Plus there's the presence of unofficial Doctor Richard E Grant dressed similarly to how his Doctor did, possibly acting as a part of the Doctor's subconscious. In addition to the ridiculous villains. Too many things don't add up for this to be a real world story.
slothian
Thirdly, JLC is very cute. REALLY? I know you're both from Bristol, but still, I wouldn't have thought men nor women would want to be near JLC after his recent conviction.... Kenny Evil
Doctor Who is 49 today. If JFK had to die so that the Doctor could be born, I am fine with that.
dc20willsave
I do find it hilarious that in the states next year at this time, television will be saturated with 50th anniversary of JFK assassination programs while in the UK 50 years of Doctor Who will be the theme. I think I know where I'd like to be.
Davedevil
What do we know that they're doing for the 50th anniversary as of now? There's the comic with all the Doctors but have they officially revealed anything else?
dc20willsave
The Beeb is making a telefilm about the creation of the series, Moffat has planned one or two specials that we've heard about. I don't think we've heard if this is going to be during Series 8 or if Series 8 will premiere in the Spring of 2014.
JasonC
What specials has Moffat mentioned?
dc20willsave
We don't know nothing much, just that Matt Smith said in an interview that he knew what Moffat was planning and that it was "huge." If we got any real details this far out, I would be surprised, especially with the Christmas Special and the second half of series 7 still to come. Davedevil
I feel like listening to a Big Finish audio drama. 7th or 8th Doctors, preferably.
JasonC
I wish we could get Benny Summerfield in a special. That would be awesome squared.
Kenny Evil
TLS, there's a 6th Doctor adventure starring Jago and Lightfoot, called Voyage to Venus, which is available for £1 from Big Finish. Had an Earthly Child recommended to me, so will give that a listen soon (it's an eighth Doctor adventure featuring Susan and partly set around Bristol, hence my bias). They've also released a box set for the Eighth Doctor called Dark Eyes that looks like it will be amazing.
