dc20willsave
http://freecomicbookday.com/ How's everyone planning on spending Free Comic Book Day? I'm looking to by to my local store by an hour before open so I can be sure to get the Green Lantern book. My store is also running a few sales so I'll probably pick up a few back issues that I've been looking for as well.
Venneh
Green Lantern, Avengers, Savage Dragon, and DC Kids, prolly. Heading over there early so that I'm sure to get it. And I'll probably buy Dark Reign: Cabal, too.
Aaron Robinson
I suppose I might buy a comic then, provided any of the comic stores here in Perth are actually doing something for it.
KnightWing
There's a comics shop in Dallas that's having a whole family event, with food, entertainment, and free stuff. Yay for me...
Dread
I'll take the family so the boys can have their pick and Daddy can have his GL and his Dragon.
SuaveStar
I really hope A1comics does free comic book day here. Edit: A1 isn't but forbidden planet is.

Venneh
Happy Free Comic Books Day, people!~ Also, just posted something to that effect in my FB status; I had about four people asking me what it was and where they could get these. 'm pretty surprised that more people haven't heard of this.
Drubot
Did any one have limits for the free comic book? I was late to work because I had to go to two different shops to get the books I wanted, GL and Resurrection 0. I also bought Queen and Country Vol 2 and I'm still looking for Resurrection Vol 1. Venneh
One of everything so that other people could get stuff. Which makes sense to me.
dc20willsave
I went to two shops also. The first one just gave you a pre-bundled bag so you didn't even know what you were getting until you opened it. Lame. My usual store let you pick any five so I filled in the holes that the other one left me with. At least I got Blackest Night #0 and am so freaking psyched! SkylerQ91
My, my I forgot all about this thread, well I may as well say it anyway... I jumped about from about three comic shops and ended up getting... The Avengers Blackest Night #0 Bongo Comics Free-For-All! Disney/Pixar's Cars Star Wars: The Clone Wars/Dark Horse Favs Transformers Animated/G.I. Joe DC Kids Mega Sampler Owly And Friends Sonic The Hedgehog: Evolution Of A Hero TMNT #1 25th Anniversary Reprint So that's almost everything I wanted other than Wolverine and more as well. Some were utter disappointments and others were just a 'whatever, it's free' pick up but Blackest Night, Clone Wars, and TMNT were wonderful books and worth the running around. -Skyler
dc20willsave
Instead of cluttering the forum with an extra thread, figured I'd just post in the 2009 one. Free Comic Book day is this Saturday so what's everyone's plans? This year's titles are kinda lacking. It does give me an excuse to try Irredeemable and the Thor/Iron Man looks interesting. SuaveStar
None of those grab me, bar the Simpsons one, so I'll just go and get stuff on Saturday and hope for the best. Also, I don't give two shits about the War of the Supermen, but I'll get the free issue, simply because it's free. I thought Green Hornet #1 just came out? Missy
Good idea, Will. I've renamed the topic.
Aaron Robinson
A bunch of those look pretty cool. I doubt I'll be going to a comic book store this weekend though.
Erin B.
I plan on going. It has become a tradition for me to hang out at my LCBS before I go my Renaissance Fair rehearsals on Saturdays. The fact that it is Free Comic Book Day is an added bonus. In recent weeks I have ventured out of my Silver Age comfort zone and picked a few modern titles from both DC and Marvel (I have no true alliance to either, though I am better versed in DC lore than Marvel). With this Free Comic Book Day, I plan on picking up titles that I normally would no give a second glance at and whether the story/art are good or bad, I will be another step in getting me out of my comic book comfort zone. SuaveStar
My comic shop had just Iron Man/Thor and War of Supermen in when I went at around 12 today. Both were shit.
Venneh
Picked up the Iron Man/Thor and the War of the Supermen, both of which weren't that appealing, but hey, they're free; they didn't have Irredeemable out by me (at least I don't think they did), and I didn't pick up Doctor Solar cause I wasn't interested. Picked up Brightest Day #0 while I was at it, and Blackest Night #6, 7, and 8, donated a buck to muscular dystrophy to get a blue ring, and got a black ring for purchasing Blackest Night #8. So, yeah, pretty good haul.

Venneh
Dude. I don't have a car. This limits my options somewhat. EDIT: However, they are the same folks who run Powerhouse out here, so there.
