SuaveStar
Cool. Was going to get Arkham Asylum when I was getting my free comic book day comics, but left it as I got thirteen free comics. Interested in your thoughts on Hellraiser in depth as we only talked about it a little on the tv thread.
Molly
New Pinhead is Here. I don't care for it.
Dread
Yeah. I'm not too hot on it either. I think it looks cool but I much prefer the cleaner, more symmetrical look as it seems to be more in line with what the Cenobites are about. But for all we know, Cenobites could be an entirely different thing this time around, and for my money, I hope they are.
SuaveStar
The new pinhead is way to creepy looking.
Dread
I actually think the original is creepier. Grittiness does not make creepy. I love the cold act. I love the steam from the mouth and I love the vocal delivery. It'll be hard to outcreep Doug Bradley.
Molly
Yeah, I'm with Des, the clinical application of the nails in the original Pinhead is way creepier.
SuaveStar
Thats what i mean, it has the right amount of him playing the character like that and the make up complimenting it. This new one seems to be more about make up, well thats just a picture though.
Dread
Is the music review format annoying?
slothian
Is the music review format annoying? I wouldn't say "annoying" exactly, but the album review felt like it dragged on a bit too long. Liked the Hellraiser review, and I agree that the original Pinhead is MUCH creepier. The image of him holding the box used to scare me witless as an over-imaginative youth. The new design looks like some tenpenny mutilated freak.
Dread
That's fair, it's also an album by a band that takes a long time to get to a chorus. I am trying to do longer reviews for better clarity as well as my own sanity.
Molly
I liked the review and will likely pirate buy a few of the tracks.
Koete
Erm...Des, you are aware Simon Dark just ended right?
Dread
Well dang.
Koete
I have to think the idea to set it in Gotham was DC's. If it had been set in some unnamed city and released through Vertigo, it would probably still be going strong.
Molly
I actually liked the fact that it wasn't a Vertigo book.
