RSS
Pierce Brosnan may not be Timothy Dalton, but he was the Bond that Ian and Adham grew up with. So what will our genuine British hosts make of Brosnan's first 007 outing? GoldenEye sees discussion veer towards the awesomeness of Sean Bean and the sudden growth of the Kill Count, whilst Adham fails miserably to break a world record during the recording. That said, Ian risks an insult that could see FYEO's lifespan cut down prematurely. Guest DCAUFan1051
It's fixed now. mike it's showing up at the bottom in the feed on iTunes.... like the correct date isn't on there... this happened several times with TFG1. I have my podcasts sorted by latest release date. There's no date on ep 17.
Missy
You might have to unsubscribe and then resubscribe to the feed for immediate results, but it's fixed. I've tested it three times now.
Guest DCAUFan1051
yeah it worked... ty... as I said before the whole date thing on a few of the TFG1 eps made that error happen.
Guest DCAUFan1051
Ian I must argue that the reason why Orumov didn't want the others shooting at bond was because I believe he said that they'd hit the gas tanks..... I could be wrong though... so far great work you guys.
SkylerQ91
I'm listening right now and loving it but I think Cumming is more well known then given credit for. Families know him from the Spy Kids films where he played Fegan Floop among other family films, quirky groups know him from Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Musical fans know him from 1999's version of Annie and Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical, checking IMdB seems that he has had large or recurring roles on Gay series like 'The L Word' and 'Rick & Steve the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World' and then there is his fragrance based solely on the fact he has a rather unfortunate name. True these may be mostly niche markets and perhaps it because of my OWN age but I've always thought of he was most well know as being Floop in the Spy Kids films, a hit where he had no silly makeup so he was recognizable. -Skyler
Guest DCAUFan1051
Ian Minnie Driver was in Grosse Pointe Blank as well with John Cusack... other then that I can only think of 1 other film of hers which I prefer not to admit to knowing.... just think someone who was in X-Files. Donomark
I applaud Ian for going BALLS OUT and finally giving a Bond film a 10. That was pretty cool. And I hope Adham somehow/someway finds his butt over to Ian's dorm to record. I'll miss the references to off-mike facial movements and pen droppings. slothian
I'm always going balls out, me. And the plan is for Adham to record the next episode at my new digs whilst my house waits to get broadband connection pronto, although I can't guarantee that this will be a regular occurence, given the 300 mile distance between your FYEO co-hosts. Guest DCAUFan1051
I've been a little behind on FYEO with finishing this episode, but I did the other day and I must ask Ian why you hate on Goldeneye: Rogue Agent? (Hopefully your head won't explode thinking about why you hate it) Outside of the fact that it's a Bond game I like the FPS aspect of it and I thought it was a cool concept for a story. The voice acting doesn't hurt either.

The voice acting doesn't hurt either. I hate it for being a wholly cynical release, for one thing. Whatever your opinion is of the original game (because it is very dated and looks rather hideous), Goldeneye 007 is, by a large consensus, the best Bond computer game available. Goldeneye Rogue Agent came along 7 years later, made by Electronic Arts, who tried to cash in on the name Goldeneye despite the fact their game had nothing to do with the Goldeneye film or game, as made by Rareware. EA were deliberately trying to cash in on something better than the product they were putting out, and many reviews reflected that. And if you're making a Bond game, there should be nothing special about it being a FPS - it's just common sense, really.
Guest DCAUFan1051
ok I can agree that EA wants to cash in on everything.... who doesn't? with all the remakes these days? I also agree that it should have been a full on port to the PS2 of the original GoldenEye with maybe updating the graphics. However I still liked playing Goldeneye Rogue Agent the way I always saw it was that it took place right after Goldeneye and plus it included many of the classic Bond Villain hideouts. Would it be possible that you and Adham cover all the bond games after the movies?... just an idea.

Adham & I will take a break and then probably move onto a new project from there, but that's a year away at least. So it's those above movies - we don't have enough collected knowledge to do one on merchandise and spin-offs, really.
Guest DCAUFan1051
Watching GoldenEye now... at the scene where they have captured Bond and Alec disarms the bombs... there is liquid leaking out of what Bond placed the bomb on. It's shown as flooding to the floor below.. how does n one notice this? I mean seriously you'd think that any guard would notice pink liquid flowing onto the floor below. Donomark
Here's a question: If Trevelan planned for Bond for die in the pre-title sequence, why go through the ruse that he's assassinated by Orumov? Why wouldn't 006 just kill him?
Stavros
Didn't he want to disappear and let Bond run off to report him dead?

slothian
RIP to the actor with the most entertaining hipflask swigs ever seen. Oddly, Ouromov's death is understated to the point of being overlooked in Goldeneye, even if everything is leading up to that. Always struck me as a tad surreal.
