RSS
Tomorrow Never Dies, the sophomore entry to the Brosnan-era Bonds, gets a slightly different treatment from the hosts this month. Why? Because this is the first episode to be recorded via Skype! Tune in to see how this affects the rapport and the audio quality of the show, along with the regular features. Also find out why begging the hosts to go easy on something will be doomed to fail, why Adham feels slighted that he wasn't cast in this film at the age of 12, and why Ian made a terrible mistake in making the news section about hypothetical Bond theme musicians. slothian
Having just listened back over the first 20 minutes, I should warn y'all that Adham spoils the first episode of Series 7 of Spooks.
Richard Paterson
Wow, I had no idea Gerard Butler was on that ship. The British Navy seems to be full of (for want of a better word) stars, with Julian "Green Wing" Rhind-Tutt and the guy who plays Mullett in A Touch of Frost also around somewhere. Missy
which I didn't even know existed. Great cover!
Mr Mockery
Watched this again today. The chase with the remote control BMW is still one of my favourite sequences of any Bond film. I especially like the moment when Bond presses a button to re-inflate the cars tyres and chuckles to himself. It's just a nice touch of Bond having fun with the toys he gets to play with. Guest DCAUFan1051
hello Bond fans... listening to the email segment in this episode. As far as whether it was Oromov or 006 impersonating the admiral. There was a movie novelization that was released to coincide with the GoldenEye release. In this book which I had it says it was Oromov that was with Xenya. But it's all up to interpretation. Here's the book on amazon
Guest DCAUFan1051
still listening... ou guys mention the newer big box set. I'm assuming that this one includes Quantum Of Solace? If so I'm not that interested in it. I like the one that I currently own. I wonder if there are any other differences between the two big box sets? Guest DCAUFan1051
Finishing listening to this one this morning. Wow Adham has NEVER heard of Turner & Hooch? what scottish hole has he been trapped in?
slothian
We mentioned Turner & Hooch?? Adham living in Scotland?? And as for the DVD collections, the Bond franchise has that money-spinner of re-releasing boxsets and compilation albums after a new film has been released. So there are boxsets out there with Quantum of Solace bundled in as well as the first Blu-ray boxset.

Well you guys mentioned a director or producer and the other films he was noted for was Turner and Hooch and something else I can't remember. But Adham said he'd never heard of Turner & Hooch. Which surprises me because that is one of Tom Hanks best films. As far as the Big Boxsets... yeah I figured as much Ian. However I was wondering if maybe there was a collectible booklet or something with the new set. Not just adding in Quantum. As I said I'm happy with the set I have. On the first point, Adham was born in December 1984 and I'm 6 months younger, so we were slightly too young for Turner & Hooch when it was released - the first film I saw at the cinema was either The Little Mermaid or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I have since heard of the film but have never been inclined to watch it, so Adham - as usual - has gone one better and not bothered charting the rise of Tom Hanks! As for the booklet, I honestly don't know. I think, from what you've sent me before, that we have the same boxset and that Casino Royale was been wedged in the centre of the original 20 films, so I'm leaning towards there not being a collectible within. That being said, I don't know for sure.

Like the one we have. Honestly I wasn't impressed with QOS as a bond film in general. So I wouldn't drop another $225 on a big boxset. It would be nice though to have a DVD booklet covering all the films. Kind of like what they did with Batman The Complete Animated Series. But anyways great episode it's a shame the Brosnan Bond had to end though. Even though I knew of the previous films, GoldenEye and the subsequent Brosnan films were what got me back into Bond. slothian
It may well depend on the DVD region of Australia as to what kind of DVD it enjoys. Personally, I'm hoping it's compatible with Region 2 as I want some DVDs of The Chaser pretty damn urgently. BTW, any opinions on The World Is Not Enough?!
