prez
Someone obviously hasn't read "The Failure of Bruce Wayne" from Batman #120, where we see that Bruce has an extended family. No, I haven't heard of that. Care to sum up? Also, Dread, I'm very anti-Morrison. I think he shits all over characters and shoehorns them into elaborate stories that don't make sense. But it's so outrageous, people think it's a form of genius. For some reason, I seem to be the only anti-Morrison person here, but nonetheless I was asking an honest question. I'm honestly confused. Also, where are the stories that date back to colonial times?

But it's so outrageous, people think it's a form of genius. For some reason, I seem to be the only anti-Morrison person here, but nonetheless I was asking an honest question. I'm honestly confused. Also, where are the stories that date back to colonial times? It's been awhile since I read it, but it involves Bruce being worried that his acting the role of a playboy was shaming the family name. There was a dying relative, that was his Uncle I believe, who wanted to live long enough to see that Bruce live up to the Wayne legacy. One part of it shows a number of protraits of famous Waynes, though I can't recall if they were in the manor itself or not, I'll double check when I get home later. As far as Morrison goes, I feel very much the opposite. For me,I see in his stories that he has a great love for comics and their characters. I think your dislike for Morrison's stories may stem from that he puts characters in situations that are very uncommon from those they are normally seen in. As for stories going back to colonial times, this is another twist of Morrison's on the fifties stories. Back in the forties and fifties, Batman and Rboin traveled into the past, to a number of different places amd time periods, through hypnosis administered by a Professor named Carter Nichols. Batman would often adopt a costume that was reminiscent of that era. Morrison is taking that concept and updating it, with Darkseid's Omega Sanction taking place of the, now unbelievable, method of hypnosis. Dread
There is a story I love as well featuring Thomas Jefferson (I think) being involved in a Satanic cult that does something that essentially damns Gotham explaining its inordinate amount of psychos. There's a Wayne there too.

Guest
To be fair, I tend to stay out of the Morrison talk now. I used to hate him with a passion, but there's really no point. He writes for his audience. I don't begrudge people for liking him, but he's not for me at all.
Stavros
Morrison is a strange mix between a hell of a writer (All Star Superman) and the worst thing I've ever read in comics (The Filth).
TDK_theBatmaN
As I was going through those particular panels in Batman and Robin #10, I thought, "oh god, don't make Bruce every one of his own male relatives," but then there was that missing painting. I think that one will be the only relative that would end up actually being Bruce .. at least I really hope so. The alternative would just be ridiculous. Koete
After having just read Batman and Robin #10, I have a few theories: The Thomas Wayne from the 1700s, who allegedly summoned a Bat demon and whose portrait is missing? That's Dr. Hurt. Oberon Sexton is really The Joker. And to address the question of the Wayne genealogy, Mordecai Wayne looks to be the only one who was really Bruce. SuaveStar
The last page of this week's Booster Gold was a teaser of Rex Hunter's involvement in the event. Vanishing Point. A place where time ends. But what happens when that very site is self-destructing? TIME MASTERS: VANISHING POINT #1 launches “The Search for Batman,” as Rip Hunter puts together a high-powered band of Time Masters to travel through time in search of the World’s Greatest Detective. But can even the combined might and skill of Superman, Green Lantern and Booster Gold help the Time Master pinpoint where Batman went at the conclusion of FINAL CRISIS? Information that could keep Vanishing Point from tearing itself apart? This six-issue mini-series, a companion piece to BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE and a story chock full of clues that point toward the next major DCU event, hits in July from writer artist Dan Jurgens with a variant cover by Chris Sprouse and Karl Story (the artists on BATMAN: RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #1). How can you say no? We talked to TIME MASTER editor Mike Carlin for a tad more info on the new series. Take it away, Mike: “It’s been a while since Dan Jurgens and I worked on his introduction of Vanishing Point into the DC Universe— but what’s a “while” to a coupla experienced time travelers like us! When Dan introduced Waverider and the Linear Men to SUPERMAN it was only a matter of time (sorry!) before Rip Hunter would be revealed to be a major player at the end of time. And now with the time-stream changing disappearance of Batman it’s about time (sorry, again!) that DC’s Time Masters took the search into their own hands! Add Booster Gold to the mix and the Time Masters just might have to deal with a detour or two— all the while hoping to find Batman before time unravels from Vanishing Point back to the big bang!” DC Source
Dread
Regardless of how it sounds, it's a cash grab that will not even veer into the vicinity of the actual story being presented in RoBW. I'll skip it.

And I'm pretty sure your first theory is correct. Plus, that would explain why he calls himself Thomas Wayne in R.I.P. and not actually be Bruce's father.
