Stavros
boo! It's like you don't even care about the superficial, what kind of pedantic crazy comics fan are you?
JackFetch
I'm more interested in his acting ability than his hair. It's a little too distracting for me. I'll be staring at it the whole time like a girl with food stuck in her teeth. You nod and smile but don't hear a thing she said.

prez
It's not really all that superficial. There is an entire industry devoted to hair in film; it's part of an Oscar category called "best makeup." In big budget movies, hairstyle is as important to character design as costume. If he was dressed in a bunny suit for most of the movie, would that be a superficial complaint, too? You can't include a hairstyle like that without having it explained in the film, actually, because it's fucking ridiculous.
KnightWing
Maybe in this new continuity, Peter initially uses his amazing new powers to break into the male modeling industry. Then, when his sneaky agent takes a 75% cut from his payment, he has no problem letting a random thief take that money. "I've gotta look out for Number One!..." *Tilts head back with eyes closed, running fingers through his hair* "...ME!"
JackFetch
With great power comes homelessness apparently. I swear I saw that guy washing windows on a street corner, fingerless gloves and all.
Venneh
That's what's in for the young kids these days. I hear it has something to do with that vampire kid or something.

slothian
I find it so hard to believe that the internet would have a problem with a 27-year old Englishman with huge hair playing nerdy American teenager Peter Parker..... You could have had Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 4 with John Malkovich as The Vulture. Pick a side!
ShaunKL
I have no opinion, I'll be going into the movie as a member of the "dumb audience".

JackFetch
C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders, Red Dawn, The Hitcher) has joined the cast of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, reports EW. Little is known about Howell's part, outside of the fact that his character is called Ray. As EW speculates, Ray could refer to Ray Cooper, the father of Peter Parker's current girlfriend in the comic book continuity, Carlie Cooper. There was also a Ray Walker in the 1999 Peter Parker: Spider-Man #35. The story, "Heroes Don't Cry," depicted (in a child's imagination) an African American Spider-Man under the mask and the issue was cited quite a bit online last year following actor Donald Glover's public pusuit of the Parker role. Of course, it is also likely that the part is one written specifically for the film and, at this stage, it is unknown exactly how large or small it might be. http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/113450-spider-man-adds-c-thomas-howell
Venneh
We have our first pics of him in the Spidey costume: ...Very modern?
Missy
I need to see the mask (and the costume in daylight), but so far I like the look of it.
JackFetch
I like it better than the crappy one from the other movies with all the weird webbing. This looks like something real.
Stavros
Looks pretty good, but seeing it in action is the real test. I like the fact that they're venturing into variant territory a bit, there's a little Ben Reilly in there.

KnightWing
The idea of the webbing as just lines of stretchy fabric is pretty brilliant; I wonder why no one thought of that before?
ShaunKL
Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker looks and feels a lot more like a nerd, I approve.
KnightWing
More of a nerd than Tobey Maguire? Oh, and did anyone else notice the little shiny things peeking out from behind his wrists? Looks like we might have mechanical web shooters.
