I know it doesn't matter, but I have issues with that due to the continuity problems. Could go with Astonishing, it's the UK edition's name (they collect several issues into one for that title).

I know Astonishing is mostly X-related but it's not like any X-men franchise is going to get around to using those titles for a while. Besides, they've got Uncanny, New, Adjective-less and Legacy, plus New Mutants and X-factor to spin out of it all.

How many people going see it would know that it shared the name of a line of Spider-Man comics out of continuity with the mainstream Marvel universe? Also "Ultimate" implies finality. Like you said, though, not that important.

Thanks to Batman, we may actually see these titles, instead of the films having to be called just The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 3.

I'm more excited by the fact that the film is going to The AMAZING Spider-man. That's just awesome, that way they can go with Spectacular and Sensational for the sequels.

If it's a trilogy, "Ultimate Spiderman" would be a good name for the last film.

Sensational Spider-man, Web of Spider-man, and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man would work just as well as Ultimate if not better.

I thought about mentioning those, but I cannot seriously imagine a huge summer blockbuster called "Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-man"

But the porno version would be awesome.

Mary Jane: Spider-man, I'm covered in web fluid!

Spider-man: That's not web fluid my dear.

Lizard as the villain confirmed:

Here is what C. Thomas Howell had to say about how his character plays a part in one of The Amazing Spider-Man's most important scenes.

"There is not a whole lot to talk about. Sony wants us to be hush-hush right now. I play a relatively small role. I play a construction worker who's son is caught in the middle of a battle between the Lizard and Spider-Man on the Manhattan bridge.

Spider-Man helps me get my son back from this perilous situation. There is some payback there at the end of the movie. Spider-man is kind of hurting. I help him when all of the other people won't. Part of the story is, the nation thinks he might be a bad guy. They don't know what to think. Because of my experience on the bridge with my kid, I know he is a good guy. I pitch in and help out at the end. That is the best way."
