dc20willsave
For those of you with a horribly morbid curiousity, Rifftrax now has the Star Wars Holiday special available as a Video on Demand, making this the first time the thing is available commercially. Plus, it has commercials. Note, it's the same track as they had available before, just it had the video already synched up and you don't have to search around for the correct video of it online. Gareth
Did anyone ever watch the 90s WildCATs cartoon?
dc20willsave
Yeah. It's pretty bad.
JackFetch
I remember liking it, bit it didn't last long. You can watch it on Youtube. http://youtu.be/tvg7tbNy5cE
Kenny Evil
I like when a theme song assures people that the team is made up out of heroes, not zeroes.
Stavros
I learn everything I know from cartoon opening titles, I was really into looting and polluting until the age of 10.
JackFetch
Also, the random rap in the middle of it tells me it was made in the 90s.
Missy
I think Will might need to do a TV 101 spotlighting a list of the best and worst Saturday morning cartoon intros / themes.
Dread
WildCATS, Savage Dragon, Swamp Thing, Toxic Avenger and Rambo are the five points on the star of insane 90s cartoon heroes.
dc20willsave
Dammit, yeah, that might have to happen.
Missy
There's another episode of TV 101: Saturday morning cartoons based on R-rated movies. Rambo, RoboCop, The Toxic Avenger, Police Academy, Highlander. I have to be missing a few.
JackFetch
Thanks for reminding me of all those shitty cartoons I watched. Highlander. What was I thinking?
dc20willsave
Well, just cartoons based off of more adult movies altogether. I mean, Beetlejuice was PG-13 but it also has a scene where the title character goes to a whorehouse. For that matter, Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura, The Mask, Tales From the Cryptkeeper, Conan the Adventurer. Yeah, the list goes on really. Dang, too many good ideas, especially since that theme song one could probably be split up by decade rather easily into multiple episodes. Stavros
Captain Scarlet was the best one anyway. The only kids show where people died all the time so there was a genuine sense of danger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV8YbLvGrb0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2_ApL9OZKs
